FULL MOON RISING

by: George Grie

RHYTHM AND MOVEMENT

Grie uses a limited color palette of blues, grays, and whites. The shapes in the painting are organic and flowing. He also
uses a balanced and symmetrical composition and the use of diagonal lines in the painting, such as the horizon line and the
lines created by the trees and grass, guide the viewer's gaze upward towards the moon.

BALANCE
The visual weight of objects, colors, texture, and space is distributed in a way that draws the viewer's eye to the moon and
its ascent. The moon itself carries the greatest visual weight in the scene. The colors and textures of the scene are also
carefully balanced
EMPHASIS
The part of the design that catches the viewer's attention in the scene of the moon itself. Its size and brightness command
attention, drawing the viewer's eye upward
HARMONY, UNITY AND VARIETY
Harmony is achieved through the careful arrangement of elements. The moon is positioned high in the frame, with plenty of
negative space around it. Unity is achieved through the use of contrast and difference. The moon and the landscape below
it are connected by a sense of unity. Variety is achieved through the use of contrast and difference. The moon is positioned
high in the frame, creating a sense of contrast and difference between the moon and the landscape below it
PROPORTION
Variety is achieved through the use of contrast and difference. The moon is positioned high in the frame, creating a sense of
contrast and difference between the moon and the landscape below it.
Prater and Wheel Painting
by: John Lansdown
RHYTHM AND MOVEMENT

The painting is full of rhythmic elements, from the curving lines of the Ferris wheel to the repetition of the trees and buildings
in the background. These elements create a sense of movement and flow, drawing the viewer's eye around the canvas. The
Ferris wheel is the centerpiece of the painting, and its movement is captured in the way the cars sway and the spokes of the
wheel spin.

BALANCE
The painting is carefully balanced, with a sense of weight that creates a sense of harmony. The Ferris wheel is positioned in
the center of the canvas, with the Prater grounds spreading out around it.
EMPHASIS
The Ferris wheel is the focal point of the painting, with its bright colors. The viewer's eye is naturally drawn to this element,
which is emphasized by the use of bold, contrasting colors.
HARMONY, UNITY AND VARIETY
The colors in the painting are harmonious, with a mix of warm and cool tones. The brushstrokes are bold and expressive,
creating a sense of energy and movement. The use of perspective and depth adds to the overall unity of the painting. The
rough texture of the Ferris wheel contrasts with the smooth texture of the sky.
PROPORTION
The proportion of the Ferris wheel and the Prater grounds is carefully balanced, with a sense of depth and perspective that
draws the viewer's eye around the canvas. The horizon line is low in the frame, creating a sense of vastness and openness.
