IISF has consistently evolved and grown to establish itself as an iconic annual event in the field of science and technology. It plays a pivotal
role in bringing together a diverse audience, including school students, science enthusiasts, research scholars, educators, scientists, and
the general public, through its multifaceted offerings. These include exhibitions, workshops, seminars, panel discussions, distinguished
scientist lectures, interactive sessions with policymakers, and more. This wide array of activities and programs promotes scientific awareness,
fosters curiosity, and encourages engagement with science and technology among people from various backgrounds and age groups.
I am confident that the 9th edition of the IISF will continue the tradition of success seen in previous editions, with broad participation from all segments of
society. I extend my best wishes for the grand success of the 9th India International Science Festival.

IISF is a crucial component of India’s overarching vision to cultivate and broaden scientific awareness. It is a celebration of Science and

India’s space exploration endeavors have consistently pushed the boundaries of human knowledge and technology. From the successful Chandrayaan, Mangalyaan,
and Solar missions to the launch of numerous communication and earth observation satellites, India has firmly established itself as a global leader in space exploration.
The Department of Space enthusiastically participates in IISF with the goal of disseminating technological advancements, showcasing practical applications,
and highlighting achievements. The ultimate aim is to inspire and encourage young minds to pursue different science by igniting their curiosity and creativity.
I am hopeful that the forthcoming festival will prove to be even more productive and eventful, bringing significant benefits to the scientific community and the
public at large.

ABOUT IISF
The India International Science Festival (IISF) is a collaborative endeavour between Ministry of Science and Technology,
Ministry of Earth Sciences, Department of Space and Department of Atomic Energy in partnership with Vijnana
Bharati- a science movement spearheaded by scientists of the nation with swadeshi spirit. IISF’s primary objective is
to commemorate the world of science, making it accessible to all. The essential notion is to engage general populace
with science in an enjoyable and entertaining manner, thereby contributing to health, prosperity and meaningful life.
By means of its inventive programs and initiatives, IISF extends opportunities for people and scientific community,
both within the country and internationally, to come together, collaborate and partake in the gratification of advancing
scientific pursuits towards betterment of India and humanity.
JOURNEY OF IISF
Under the dynamic leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister, India’s S&T has transformed, with a commitment to innovation,
transformative research, and technology-driven solutions. India is poised to emerge as a global leader in science and
technology, dedicated to the upliftment of all.
The India International Science Festival (IISF), a celebration of India’s achievements and laurels in the field of S&T is one
such initiative of The Hon’ble Prime Minister under his vision of ‘Science for Society’. IISF embarked on its remarkable
journey in 2015, commencing with its inaugural event in Delhi. Over the years, this grand scientific extravaganza has
seen eight successful editions, spanning vast geographical regions of India. In the year 2020, the formidable challenge
of the Covid-19 pandemic threatened to disrupt this annual event. Still, it was met with unwavering determination as
IISF swiftly pivoted to virtual platform, ensuring seamless continuation of its mission, celebrating human spirit that
motivates everyone to innovate in adversities.
IISF is committed to the fundamental duty of developing scientific temperament, reason and logic among children and
people at large, and aimed at making ‘India the most credible centre for scientific learning’ as envisioned by Hon’ble
Prime Minister. The stewardship of this illustrious annual affair is entrusted to key departments under the Ministry
of Science and Technology, including the Department of Science and Technology (DST), the Council of Scientific and
Industrial Research (CSIR), the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), and the Ministry of Earth Science. Since 2021, The
Department of Space and the Department of Atomic Energy have also joined hands with IISF in its mission to make the
innovation ecosystem stronger and more effective thereby motivating generations. In addition, other ministries and
departments connected to science and technology had consistently played pivotal roles in orchestrating IISF. Notably,
Vijnana Bharati has been a steadfast partner, contributing significantly and propelling the progress of IISF.
IISF has evolved with innovative program design, linking diverse aspects of life to science. Its standout feature is
inclusivity, ensuring participation from all segments of society. Participation from India and worldwide has consistently
grown in each edition, attracting a broader and more diverse audience, in line with its envisioned outcomes.

The cultural segment will showcase vivid tapestry of India’s varied and extensive heritage. It will feature customary
music, dance displays, indigenous art forms and dramatic exhibitions. Ranging from classical forms such as
Bharatanatyam and Kathak to regional folk performances, the cultural program embodies India’s harmony amidst
its diverse cultural fabric. This provides participants with an immersive journey through the nation’s past, customs
and creative expressions, rendering the IISF event an enlightening and enjoyable occasion.
