Instruction Question 2: Is instruction done in small groups, centers, whole groups, individual? >>>
A mix of both, most assignments are done in groups of 4 with students participating in their table
groups.
Instruction Question 3: How would you describe your cooperating teacher’s teaching style? >>>
Thorough and to the point every minute of the day is utilized for education outside of recess breaks.
The school even utilizes math problems during line moments during the day, so students can continue
practicing areas they struggle in.
Instruction Question 4: Does the teacher incorporate the sensory modalities (learning styles)? If so, give
examples. >>>
Instruction Question 5: Do the students seem engaged in the lesson(s) that are being presented?
Please explain. >>>
The students are very engaged in the lessons being taught in the classroom. It is instantly clear there is
a slight disconnect between the source material and the students’ current understanding of the material
as a continued result of the pandemic. The students are thoroughly focused on Mrs. Perez, breaking
down the material in a way that helps with the information missed and connecting it with the new
information that is needed going forward.
Instruction Question 6: Explain the use of culturally relevant materials, teaching strategies, class décor,
etc. that meet the needs of today’s culturally diverse student population. >>>
The room is filled with various posters showing diverse groups of individuals outside of that this
classroom is clean loon wise to not offer many elements of distraction.
Yes Mrs. Perez followed through every breakdown of time that was on the duties bored. If a subject
showed it needed more time that is factored into tomorrow’s lesson plan or another day in the week that
has an opening.
Instruction Question 8: How does the cooperating teacher handle transitions from one subject or period
to another, and are these transitions efficient? >>>
Active listening leading right into clean up and set up nor the next subject at hand the transitions are
smooth because the students are prepared and understand her routine.
Instruction Question 9: List ways that the teacher attempts any “attention getting” commands? (Ex:
Countdown, Light flicker, Heads on Desk) How effective are they? >>>
Active listening is the most utilized tool to get the class in control when they get distracted from their
assignments.
Instruction Question 10: What specific behavior issues does the teacher have to deal with? How does
the teacher deal with these behavior issues? Be specific. >>>
This school is filled with a lot of IEP students, and the biggest issue is just the students getting pulled
from the classroom at various times in the day. This can hinder learning and the progress they are
making because they must head out to resources. Some students will be gone for 30 minutes leaving
them to miss a lot of the information other students are receiving.

time? If so, explain them and how they help or hinder use of instructional time. >>>
Outside interference from admin that has no real idea about being an educator.
Instruction Question 12: What philosophical teaching orientation(s) best describes this teacher? Give
examples. >>>
Essentialism mixed in with small amounts of existentialism Mrs. Prez is focused on not only teaching
but making sure her students are learning the work. She is also aware students can only learn so much
without a break or some type of fun to help them stay focused in the long run.
Instruction Question 13: Outline the lesson plan for a teaching lesson you observed. What preparations
in advance were need for teaching the lesson? >>>
Most of her teaching’s plans came from the statewide book and is just implemented into the weekly
lesson and standards expected to be understood for the week.
Instruction Question 14: Describe both teacher and student uses of technology in the classroom. >>>
After going over practice math questions with the group and making sure the students understood that
transitions into computer time. This is where the students used their chrome books to do their site math
problems solo before going over the material with the teacher and classroom.
