Title of Accomplishment Training Workshop on the Effective Use of Microsoft Productivity
Tools for Learning Development
Type of Milestone This is a new program, considered as an innovation. This program is Accomplishment dedicated in inculcating technology and utilizing its full potential in the learning environment. 1. Your Specific Role The role of the innovator of the aforementioned program is to build In It the foundation of instructions and protocols needed to be able to successfully attain the objectives. She will be considered as the leader of the program, and will be the one to organize the flow of events that should lead to the desired outputs. 2. Bried Description Participants of the program will be able to utilize the full potential of of Accomplishment Microsoft Productivity Tools; which in turn will benefit not only work- flow of teaching personnel, but also of pupils/students who will be able to experience fusing technology with learning. 2.1 Rationale The world is now facing unprecedented challenges – social, economic, and environmental-brought about by this pandemic. Hence, education has changed dramatically whereby teaching is undertaken remotely and on digital platforms. The shared responsibility to ensure quality education continues amidst this pandemic.
To respond to the demands of time, teachers need to be fully
equipped with the related tools and technologies to better serve the learners the in best way possible. With this sudden shift away from the classroom in many parts of the globe, the adoption of online learning platforms are offered that will still be useful even post pandemic.
Thus, the use of Microsoft Productivity Tools is introduced for this
training that will also provide avenues for teachers and learners to develop their full potentials. 2.2 Objectives This training workshop aims to:
1. empower and train teachers and learners in the effective use of
Microsoft Productivity Tools such as MS Office; 2. prepare teachers in the conduct of hybrid, blended, and remote learning through MS Teams; 3. improve reading performance and comprehension of students using the Reading Progress and Immersive Reader in Microsoft Teams 4. equip teachers with new ways to engage students, create exciting classroom experiences, and develop future-ready skills; and 5. upskill teachers to empower learners to develop the skills needed to be work-force ready. 2.3 Dates started SESSION 1 - December 10, 2021 And SESSION 2 - To be scheduled after MEA Training (One Friday, Completed January-March) SESSION 3 - To be scheduled after MEA Training (One Friday, April- June) 2.4 Coverage The accomplishment was of a division level since it included the 31 districts of the DepEd Division of Lanao del Norte. 2.5 Beneficiaries The beneficiaries of the aforementioned program are 30 teaching personnel from each district. 2.6 Key Partner These are the 5 key persons who are involved in the success of the Implementing/ program: Organizations/ Individuals Flordevick S. Oplenaria, CESO V – Schools Division Superintendent 2.7 Source of There was no utilization of any funds for the said program. Funding 2.8 Responsiveness The COVID-19 epidemic has irreparably altered the educational landscape and fundamentally changed how we learn. The rapid use of educational technology (EdTech) as a way to guarantee continuous learning continuity was spurred by this unusual scenario. EdTech has become a significant facilitator, allowing institutions to adapt to shifting student demands and promote the development of new skill sets despite geographical constraints. In order to provide flexibility, increase engagement, and offer learning solutions that are of a high global level, EdTech combines technology and digital media with conventional teaching techniques by supporting multimodal forms of learning. Thus, the program was born out of the said concern. 2.9 Innovation The most important component of the program is to be able to utilize other means of delivering quality education to our learners. During the time of the COVID-19 Pandemic, it became apparent to the whole world that the educational system will definitely struggle. However, with the use of technology, we were able to overcome that hurdle. This program has set forth a new standard in being able to improve the reading skills of learners. Utilizing the Reading Progress and Immersive Reader in MS Teams, yields more accurate data which in turn will help teachers in formulating better teaching strategies. 2.10 Outcomes/ The time when the aforementioned program was conducted, it was Results/ still during the COVID-19 Pandemic. And as of that time period, Impact there was still restrictions and protocols being implemented by the Department of Health and LGU’s. Hence, the perfect timing for the implementation of the program. Trough the objectives set, these are the results: 1. Teachers have learned how to better utilize Microsoft Productivity Tools, such as MS Office which is often used in schools and even other office organizations. 2. Be able to use MS Teams in conducting hybrid, blended, and remote learning amongst pupils/students. 3. Utilizing the Reading Progress and Immersive Reader in Microsoft Teams to be able to accurately monitor reading progress. 4. Being able to establish fun and excitement amongst learners when utilizing MS Teams in reading activities and the like. Teachers are now equipped with additional skills in utilizing Microsoft Productivity Tools in classroom management. 2.11 Sustainability One of the featured tools in the program is MS Teams. And inside of the said application, teachers and learners can engage in Reading Progress and Immersive Reader. These activities are evaluated accurately so as even the learner will be able to constructively grasp their reading development. Because of that, MS Teams was and is still being utilized by teachers through the encouragement of their respective school heads. This was also used in a “Reading Derby”, which was a competition held last S.Y. 2022-2023, to be able to determine which schools and districts had the highest score in their learners’ reading skills. 3.
