INTRODUCTION
Womens empowerment Is a subject that has
recently received a lot of attention.
Women have historically been marginalized and
excluded from opportunities that are a crucial for
their personal and professional development. But
during the last few decades, there has been a
discrepable trend in favor of empowering, giving
them the ability to stand up for their rights and act
as a social change agents. The purpose of this
project is to investigate the idea of women's
empowerment and its importance in modern
society. We will look. at the numerous course they
have been aided in women's empowered
difficulties. They still encounter and their part
education and awareness playing in advancing
gender equality.
GOAL OF WOMEN’S
EMPOWERMENT

Woman's empowerment aims to provide women the

power to take charge of their lives and make choices
that will impact their wellbeing.Woman's
empowerment aims to provide women the power to
take charge of their lives and make choices that will
impact their wellbeing. Women who are empowered
can get past the political, social and economic
constraint, holding them back from reaching their
full potential. The main goal of women's
empowerment is to establish a society in which
women are going equal chances to participate in all
aspects of life and are not subjected to gender
based. It tries to advance gender equality, put a stop
to violence against women, and make sure that
women have equal access to opportunities in
employment, health care and education. The
ultimate goal of women's empowerment is to
establish a society in which women can live
honorable lives free from criteria and sexism.
NEED TO EMPOWER WOMEN
Woman has historically been treated unfairly and
oppressed because they were taught us an inferior to
men. Despite recent major advancements in gender
equality, women still face a number of obstacles that
keep them from reaching their full potential. The lack
of access that women have had to opportunities like
education jobs and other aspects of life is what
drives to demand for women's empowerment. In
addition, women are more likely to be victims of
abuse exploitation and prejudice, which further their
marginalisation.

Building a more just and equitable society requires

empowering women. Women who are empowered
have the ability to take part in decision making
support the economic growth of their families and
communities, and actively work to advance social
justice and equality. Improved mother and child
health outcomes are a result of empowered women's
increased propensity to exert greater control over
their reproductive health.
Woman's empowerment is so urgently needed to
ensure that they have equal access to opportunities
and may fully engage in all aspects of life.Woman's

MEASURES FOR WOMEN
IMPOWERMENT
The Government of India has taken various steps to
ensure gender equality and empowerment of women
through their social, educational, economic and
political uplifting through various schematic
interventions. While the schemes implemented by
the Government like Beti Bachao Beti Padhao
(BBBP), Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban &
Rural), the National Social Assistance Program
(NSAP), Pradhan Mantri Vyay Vandana Yojana
(PMVVY) and Scheme for Adolescent Girls (SAG)
support women and girls to be socially secure, the
initiatives like Samagra Shiksha, Scheme of National
Overseas Scholarship, Babu Jagjivan Ram
Chhatrawas Yojna, Swacch Vidyalaya Mission, etc.
ensure that schools are girl-friendly especially for
vulnerable sections of society and have adequate
facilities in place to fulfill their special requirements.

Further, the National Education Policy (NEP), 2020

prioritizes gender equity and envisions ensuring
equitable access to quality education to all students,
with a special emphasis on Socially and Economically
Disadvantaged Groups (SEDGs).
Beti Bachao Beti Padhao

Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao is a personal campaign of

the Government of India that aims to generate
awareness and improve the efficiency of welfare
services intended for girls. The scheme was launched
with an initial funding of ₹100 crore (US$14 million).
It mainly targets the clusters in Uttar Pradesh,
Haryana, Uttarakhand, Punjab, Bihar and Delhi.
According to census data, the child gender ratio (0–6
years) in India was 927 girls per 1,000 boys in 2001,
which dropped to 918 girls for every 1,000 boys in
2011. A 2012 UNICEF report ranked India 41st among
195 countries.[citation needed] In the Population
Census of 2011 it was revealed that the population
ratio of India 2011 is 943 females per 1000 of males.
The Sex Ratio 2011 shows an upward trend from the
census 2001 data.
The Beti Bachao, Beti Padhao (BBBP) scheme was
launched on 22 January 2015 by Modi. It aims to
address the issue of the declining child sex ratio
image (CSR) and is a national initiative jointly run by
the Ministry of Women and Child Development, the
Ministry of Health and Family Welfare and the
Ministry of Human Resource Development. It initially
focused multi-sector action in 100 districts
throughout the country where there was a low CSR.
On 26 August 2016, Olympics 2016 bronze medallist
Sakshi Malik was made brand ambassador for BBBP.
MAJOR CONTRIBUTION BY
WOMEN
Marie Curie (1867-1934)
She was the first woman to win a Nobel Prize and the
first person to receive one twice (in Physics in 1903
and Chemistry in 1911), and she’s still the only
scientist to have won two Nobel Prizes. As a leading
researcher, her work paved the way for the
advancement of modern physics. Despite the
discrimination of the time, she achieved her goal of
studying and developing her talent and she
subsequently promoted women’s access to STEM
(science, technology, engineering and mathematics)
degrees. “I was taught that the road to progress was
neither quick nor easy” is one of her most famous
quotes.
Indira Gandhi(1917 -1984)
Indira Priyadarshini Gandhi was an Indian politician
and stateswoman who served as the 3rd Prime
Minister of India from 1966 to 1977 and again from
1980 . She was India's first and, to date, only female
prime minister, and a central figure in Indian politics
as the leader of the Indian National Congress. Gandhi
was the daughter of Jawaharlal Nehru, the first prime
minister of India, and the mother of Rajiv Gandhi,
who succeeded her in office as the country's sixth
prime minister. Furthermore, Gandhi's cumulative
tenure of 15 years and 350 days makes her the
second-longest-serving Indian prime minister after
her father. Henry Kissinger described her as an "Iron
Lady", a nickname that became associated with her
tough personality
CONCLUSION
Women’s empowerment is essential for achieving
gender equality, driving economic growth, promoting
education, safeguarding health and well-being, and
ensuring women’s active participation in decision-
making processes. By providing women with equal
opportunities and addressing historical
discrimination, societies can unlock their full
potential, contributing to a more equitable and
prosperous future for all.

To empower women effectively, focus on education,

economic opportunities, legal reforms, healthcare
access, gender sensitization, supportive work
environments, and role models. These strategies are
essential for advancing gender equality and women’s
empowerment.

Women’s empowerment is both morally essential

and strategically crucial for societal progress.
Recognizing its urgency and implementing these
strategies can empower women to shape their
destinies, contribute to society, and drive positive
change, creating a brighter and fairer future for all.
