Target games are games that involve the players in


placing an object near or in a target to be able to get the
highest possible score.

throwing, tossing, rolling, catching, running, jumping,
hopping, and stretching.

Dodgeball or Batuhang Bola is a game in which players


on two teams try to throw balls at each other while
avoiding being hit.

Dodgeball originated in Africa. It was played there for


over two hundred years ago.

The original version of it is deadlier and more painful


because instead of rubber balls, they used rocks or
putrefied matter.

Mechanics of the game

To play Batuhang Bola you must first gather 2 teams


and get a ball.

Players play in front of the end line, each of them


must have a space behind them(5m).When the player
is out they go and play behind the other team. In
order to get back in they have to hit an opponent

The first team should stand in the middle of the court,


while the second team should be divided into two and
should stand at both sides of the first team.

The second team should hit the players of the first


team. If the second team could hit a player in the first
team, that player is out.

If that player catches a ball, (ball not touches the


ground) his team will gain a ” life” and can be used
to revive another player or be used to continue to
play on if the ball hits him/her.

The team will win if it hit all the players and none of
the players are left.

The name of this sport is derived from


the Filipino words Tumba, which means
'to fall' and preso, which means
'prisoner', translating to 'fallen prisoner'.

Two teams are needed, each with


around two to ix players. One team acts
as the taggers (line guard), the other acts
as the runners (passers).
This is usually decided by a game of
rock-paper-scissors (jak-en-poy) or a
coin toss.

Passers position themselves at a starting


line.

Guards must be positioned on the lines.


They cannot step inside the squares.

Guards can tag a passer inside the


square if s/he is within reach.

Passers cannot stay inside the squares for


more than 3 minutes (time can be changed).
They have to try to cross the line.

If a passer is caught, s/he will be eliminated.

Once all Passers are eliminated, the groups


will exchange places.

Once a player crosses the lines and returns


without getting caught, her/his group gets a
point.

Goal of the Game

Passers are supposed to cross the lines


from the starting point and back.
Guards will prevent them from crossing
the lines.

Once one passer crosses the lines and


gets back without being caught, the
group gets a point.

The group with the most number of


points wins.
