Michelangelo di Buonarroti Simoni(1474-1564)

The last judgment(1541)

The creation of Adam(1512)

- Painting is a part of the Sistine Chapel masterpiece
- Depicts Adam as a muscular classical nude
- Adam reclining on the left, extending his hand towards God

Leonardo di ser Piero da Vinci(1452-1519)

The vitruvian man(1490)


- The painting provides the perfect example of Leonardo's interest in proportion
- He aimed for a "medical" equilibrium of elements for a stable structure
- This quality is shared by both God's creation of the human body and humans'
production of a good building

Head of a woman{La Scapigliata}(1500-1505)


- The artwork is the unfinished portrayal of a young woman with messy hair.
- Its nickname is Scapigliatal.
- It is principally a brush drawing with some pigment, similar to other incomplete
works by the artist.
- The contrast between the sketchiness of the hair and neck and the refined
modelling of the face must be intentional.

The adoration of the magi(1481-1482)


- Unfinished early painting by Leonardo da Vinci
- Commissioned by Augustinian monks of San Donato a Scopeto in Florence
- Depicts Virgin Mary and Child in the foreground, with the Magi kneeling in
adoration
- Painting is unfinished as Leonardo departed for Milan the following year
- Accompanying figures behind Mary and Child, including a possible self-portrait
of the young Leonardo

The virgin of the rocks(1483-1486)


,- The Virgin of Rocks is a painting by Leonardo Da Vinci.
- It features his favoured "sfumato technique" known as "Leonardo's smoke."

- Completed in 1520, it showcases Raphael's artistic development and is the
culmination of his career.
- The painting combines two episodes from the Gospels - the Transfiguration of
Jesus and the healing of a possessed boy.
- The artwork is a testament to Raphael's mastery of composition, colour, and
perspective.
