Humanistic Approach Activities

Maslow's hierarchy of needs is a five-tier hierarchical model that categorizes human needs into different levels. The first levels include physiological needs like food, water, shelter, and safety needs. The middle levels involve love needs like friendship and belongingness. The higher levels consist of esteem needs like respect and self-actualization needs involving personal growth and fulfillment. Maslow argued that lower level needs must be satisfied before progressing to meet higher level needs due to motivational factors.

-Is the theory a reductionist? If not, how does it provide a comprehensive
approach to understanding human behavior?
-is it untestable and subjective? If not, how do the experimental methods make
it testable and replicable?

The theory is a comprehensive approach as it focuses on an individual

experience in a subjective way as a whole. This contrasts with other approaches
such as the cognitive approach which focuses on the brain functions as a
computer analogy, whereas this approach provides an alternative approach to
understand human behaviors in a more knowledgeable and complex way.
