o Caution: This machinery can be dangerous. Do not install, service or operate this machine without first reading, understanding
and complying with all safety instructions.
Your employer must provide a safe work environment and notify you of any potential hazards.
o Do not install, service or operate this machine without first receiving documented safety training from your employer.
• It is the responsibility of the employer to adequately train the employee on safe operating procedures for this machinery.
Procedures should be documented. Training should be updated periodically as specified by your employer.
It is the responsibility of the equipment owner to adequately isolate the equipment from the general public and/or personnel
who have not received safety training.
o Installation, maintenance and/or operation of machinery must be conducted by personnel who are fully trained and knowledgeable
in their jobs. Untrained, inexperienced or unauthorized personnel must be prohibited from operating or performing work on, in or
near this machinery.
o Do not install, service or operate this machine if physically, mentally or chemically impaired.
o Most machines are supplied with integral lifting points as specified on the drawing provided with the machine. Consult the factory
for lifting instructions if lift points are not specified on the drawing or the drawing is not available.
Use lifting devices only as intended by their manufacturer.
Lifting devices must be carefully inspected by qualified personnel before each use.
Never use a lifting device that is damaged, deteriorated or in any way in need of repair.
Never stand under or near any object when it is being lifted or moved.
o All protective guards, access doors, covers, grates and maintenance panels must be in place and securely fastened before
operating this machinery. Never remove these devices without implementing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Never place any part of your body near moving parts of machinery that may rotate or move.
Never put any portion of your body or any other foreign object into a drain, sample port or discharge opening.
o Inspect the machinery and surrounding work area daily for unsafe operating conditions.
Keep machinery and work area clean and free of dirt, dust, debris and any other obstructions.
Report unsafe conditions to your employer. Verify corrections are made prior to operating the machinery.
Never operate machinery if it is in need of service, lubrication or repair.
o Use machinery as intended.
Consult your employer and/or the factory for operating constraints and maximum operating parameters for the machine.
Never operate the machine above the rated shaft speed and horsepower. Never overload, abuse or misuse machinery.
Notify the manufacturer before making any modifications or changes to the design or construction of this machinery.
Notify your employer and the manufacturer of any operational condition of the machine which may create a hazard.
o Post these Safety Instructions and Hazard Warnings near the machine and ensure they are visible and legible at all times.
LOCK-OUT/TAG-OUT PROCEDURES MUST BE FOLLOWED PRIOR TO SERVICING THIS
EQUIPMENT. IDENTIFY AND ISOLATE ALL PRIMARY SOURCES OF ENERGY.
o Do not open or remove any protective cover, guard, grate, maintenance panel or safety barrier until all sources of energy have
been isolated, locked-out and tagged-out. Communicate work content with your employer.
Do not rely on door actuated sensors, emergency stop buttons or other control power circuitry to ensure the machine is safe.
Locate, isolate, lock and tag all primary sources of energy prior to accessing any hazardous area.
Only qualified service personnel who are trained in Lock-out/Tag-out procedures should access hazardous areas.
Qualified personnel should evaluate and document all potential hazards associated with operating, maintaining and repairing
this machine. Make sure to evaluate potential hazards located in the work space surrounding this machine.
Qualified personnel should evaluate and document all sources of energy associated with this machine.
• Types of energy to be evaluated may include: electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, gravity, kinetic, thermal and radioactivity.
Machine control systems may be designed to start automatically and/or start from remote locations. Never place any portion
of your body within a hazardous area without implementing Lock-out/Tag-out procedures.
Locate lockable disconnect devices within close proximity and within eye-sight of the operator’s work station for this machine.
In some cases, distance is used as a barrier between the operator and a potential hazard. Do not diminish distances between
the operator and exposed hazards without written approval from your employer and the manufacturer.
Use all fasteners when mounting covers, guards, grates, panels or other protection devices.
