Descriptive writing

Descriptive writing:
A type of writing that is meant to describe a person, place, or event in
great detail.
A descriptive paragraph cannot be thought without adjectives. Most
writers use variety of adjectives in order to make their writing more
interesting. Thus, readers can have a clearer picture of what is being
described.

 In descriptive details use, the senses (see, hear, smell,


touch, taste) to create pictures in the reader’s head.

Nouns P. 376

A common noun names any person, animal, place, or thing: girl, school.
A proper noun begins with a capital letter and names a particular person ,
animal, place, or thing: Alia, Saudi Arabia.
A singular noun names one: boy.
A plural noun names more than one: boys.

Rule1 Most plural nouns end in -s. For nouns that end in x, ch, sh, s, or ss,
add -es to make them plural.

RULE2: Irregular Plural Nouns

Most plural nouns end in –s or –es. But some plurals are not formed in the usual ways.
You will need to memorize these irregular plurals.
