SYNOPSIS
Hotel management system makes the work easier by
simplifying various hotel operations by automating them.
This system gives us the ability to manage various
bookings for hotel room, banquet halls, restaurants, etc.
making the system very flexible and convenient.
Managing such huge database of bookings manually is
very difficult, so in order to reduce the manpower the
hotel management system helps by maintaining all the
records effectively and safely.

By using this system there stands negligible chances for


errors to occur. Any record can be checked instantly
without wasting time by searching for it manually.
Bookings are made easier for the customers by providing
online portals and transactions are also made possible
through web based system. Thus we can conclude that
this system is very helpful in managing the tasks
efficiently in the hotel.
INTRODUCTI
ON
This system is a user-interactive application which helps
to reduce the burden of manual work and also manages
different field areas of work in the hotel. It thus reduces
the time taken and improves the processing efficiency.
This system allows managing the entire work through a
single application, thus offering greater power and
flexibility. It allows the customers to book their rooms
online and check the availability of different rooms for
reasonable costs.
Thus, this hotel management system is used to manage
the most hotel related activities and improves the
accuracy of the work. It provides a stable platform for all
the data to be stored in a safe and effective manner. Thus
it can be used in any hotel where there is a need for the
database to be maintained in an efficient way. The
system services and goals are achieved by consultation
with system user. It still involves manual entries but only
for the records other than the ones stored through the
online portal. Thus, this hotel management system is very
user friendly and convenient to use.
OBJECTIVE
The main aim of this management system is to make the
work easier and convenient to use and reduce the time
taken. This project is insight into the design and
implementation of a hotel management system. This is
done by creating an application for maintaining
database of different records to be stored in the hotel. The
system provides ability to book rooms, maintain billing
records, staff management, etc. It thus allows the user to
post the available rooms on the web portal wherein
customers can view and check for the availability of
rooms. They can book for their rooms and pay for the bill
through online transactions. The system also allows
advance booking options for the customers along with the
exact calculated amount of their rooms for their expected
number of days. Thus, it saves a lot of time and cost of
users.
The main aim of this project is to make the hotel
management a web based system by maintaining clear
and safe records through minimizing the time taken and
eliminating manual, unsafe work. This system is thus
helpful in improving the quality of work by ensuring
effective monitoring of services and activities.

EXISTING SYSTEM
The existing system is the traditional paper-based system which
involves high amount of paper work and manpower
requirement. Processing of applications manually takes a lot of
time and more staff is involved in it due to which they are
deviated from their mainstream work. Although there are
computerized systems at some places but they are not deprived
of common manual mistakes and are prone to insecurities. Thus,
the current hotel management system is uneconomical and
inflexible to meet basic user demands.

PROPOSED
SYSTEM
The proposed system, being web-based, is very flexible and
efficient with respect to productivity and time management. It is
less tedious to work with such a system in a hotel which needs a
huge lot of records to be maintained.
It consists of all the required modules and applications and is
developed with the aim of managing hotel records such as staff,
important schedules, room’s keys allotment numbers, inventories
and other relevant stuff in the hotel.
The new proposed system is automated and maintains all the
records in a database. Some such records involve the records of
customer entries, rooms occupied, rooms vacant, buffet system
management, staff records, monetary transactions, etc.
