The National Academic Depository (NAD)
FOSSEE is an acronym for Free/Libre and Open Source Software for Education.
It is a project that promotes the use of free and open source software tools in academia
and research. FOSSEE is part of the National Mission on Education through Information
and technology (ICT), Ministry of Education (MOE), Government of India
To reduce dependency on proprietary software in educational institutions
To encourage the use of FLOSS tools through various activities such as workshops,
webinars, online courses, etc.
To develop new FLOSS tools and upgrade existing tools to meet the requirements of
academia and research
SPOKEN TUTORIAL
Spoken Tutorial is a digital initiative that aims to teach and promote the
use of Free and Open Source Software (FOSS) through audio-video tutorials. It is a part of
the National Mission on Education through Information and Communication Technology
(ICT)

Shodhganga is an open-access ETD (Electronic thesis depository) of
Indian thesis
It is a digital repository of thesis and dissertations submitted to
universities in India.
Shodhganga crossed 4,00,000 Theses on 8th December 2022.
Shodhgangotri is an initiative of the UGC, Ministry of Human Resource
Development, Government of India, and INFILBNET Centre.
It is a type of alerting service.
Under this initiative, universities are requested to deposit an electronic
version of the approved synopsis submitted by research scholars to the
universities.
ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS
University Grants Commission (UGC)
Under the ABC, students will be given multiple entry and exit options.
This enables students to leave a degree or course and get a corresponding certification and
rejoin studies after a certain time and be able to start from where they had left.
It will also provide students with the flexibility to move between institutes while pursuing
one degree or leaving Increases the student's freedom in choosing their courses and
academics.
ACADEMIC BANK OF CREDITS
The credits earned by students will be valid for seven years.
The validity of credits is subject to change depending on the type of courses or
disciplines.
In such instances, ABC will provide the details of the exceptions to students.
Even if a student takes a break or is not able to continue their education, they may redeem
the earned credits in the future within the time limit of seven years.
