2024 BUDGET

The Senate yesterday approved on third and final reading the P5.768-trillion

proposed national budget for 2024.

The said budget is seen to strengthen local food production through

modernization, mechanization and improved logistics as well as defend sovereignty and

protect Filipinos against any threat and violence.

It will soon have its discussion in the bicameral conference committee before it

will be ratified and submitted to President Marcos for signature.

EARTHQUAKE

A powerful undersea earthquake shook the southern Mindanao, Friday Nov. 17,

2023, causing ceilings in shopping malls to plunge to the ground .

The magnitude 6.7 quake was located from Burias, Glan, Saranggani Province

which was found to be the epicenter with a depth of 78 kilometers.

The office of Civil Defense said it was investigating a report of one death.

Authorities also warned the public to possible aftershocks.

GSCAA MEET

Zen Sophia Limpin, a Grade 6 pupil from Francisco Oringo Sr. Elementary

School won taekwondo in the GSCAA meet in March 11, 2023 and a qualifier for SRAA

meet.

In First round Limpin won over Hazel Danao by fifteen points over thirteen and in

second round twelve over five, these consistent wins qualify her to join the SRAA 2023.

Limpin said that her inspiration was from her brother who taught her how to play

and persuaded her more in getting better.

Tokyo Olympics boxing bronze medalist, Eumir Marcial yesterday confirmed he

won’t join the Philippine Team competing in the coming Cambodia SEA Games.

Eumir plans to return to Las Vegas next month to continue his climb up the pro

ladder last February 11 2023.

The timetable is for Marcial to progress to fighting in 10-rounders before the year

ends. He said that he’s now totally focused on his pro career.
