COMPETITION 2023

ROUND ONE [1]

GENERAL QUESTIONS

This is the first round of this year’s inter schools quiz competition. The round which has been
name GENERAL QUESTIONS include both question from both mathematics and science. Each
school will have equal opportunity to a question from this round. The round also allows for a
transferable bonus or bonuses. Contestants are to take note of the following as well;

PREAMBLE

1. Contestants have 10secs to answer a science question and 30secs to answer a

mathematics question.

2. Contestants have 2 attempts only for a question which has a limited answer

3. Contestants can react or produce so many answers within their stipulated time to a

question that has unlimited answers.

4. Bonus will be passed to an opponent when the question demand unlimited answer.

Awarding mark

5. A correct answer attract 3 points.

6. A bonus answer attracts 1 point.

This is the second round of the quiz competition. The round contains the PROBLEM OF THE
DAY. It includes both mathematics and science question. Each school will have equal opportunity
to a question from this round. Contestants are to take note of the following as well;

3. All rough work should be done on the provided sheet

Akua makes a fruits salad for breakfast. She uses fruits in the following ratio of banana, apple
and pawpaw as 1:2:3 respectively.
If she uses 20 pieces of apple how many pieces of banana and pawpaw should she use.
If she uses 12 pieces of banana how many pieces of apple and pawpaw should she use.

SCIENCE
