Time Allowed: 3 hours Maximum Marks: 80


General Instructions:
i) This Question Paper has 5 Sections A-E.
ii) Section A has 20 MCQs carrying 1 mark each
iii) Section B has 5 questions carrying 02 marks each.
iv) Section C has 6 questions carrying 03 marks each.
v) Section D has 4 questions carrying 05 marks each.
vi) Section E has 3 case based integrated units of assessment (04 marks each) with
subparts of the values of 1, 1 and 2 marks each respectively.
vii) All Questions are compulsory. However, an internal choice in 2marks, 3 marks
and 5 marks questions has been provided. An internal choice has been provided in
the 2 marks questions of Section E.
viii) Draw neat figures wherever required. Take π =22/7 wherever required if not
stated.

SECTION A(1 MARKS)

value of k.
23.Find the length of a chord which is at a distance of 12 cm from the center of a circle of
radius 13 cm.
OR
A circle touches all the four sides of a quadrilateral ABCD from inside.
Prove that AB + CD = BC + DA
24. If the 8th term of an AP is 31 and its 15th term is 16 more than the 11th term,

find the AP.

25. Given that HCF (306, 1314) is 18. Find LCM (306,1314)

Section C (3 MARKS)

26. The angle of elevation of the top of a building from the foot of the tower is 30° and
the angle of elevation of the top of the tower from the foot of the building is 60°. If the
tower is 50 m high, find the height of the building.

27. In figure. l and m are two parallel tangents at A and B. The tangent at C makes

an intercept DE between the tangent l and m. Prove that DFE  900

28. Calculate the median from the following frequency distribution.

29. The ratio of incomes of two persons is 9: 7 and the ratio of their expenditures is 4: 3. If
each of them manages to save ₹ 2000 per month, then find their monthly incomes.

30. Find the coordinates of the point which divides the line segment joining the points
A (–5, 11) and B (4, –7) in the ratio 7: 2.
31. In triangleABC, right-angled at B, AB = 24 cm, BC = 7 cm. Determine:
(i) sin A II) cos C
OR
If sin (A – B) = 1/2 , cos (A + B) = 1/2 0° < A + B ≤ 90°, A > B, find A and B

Section D (5 MARKS)
32. The diagonal of a rectangular field is 60 meters more than the shorter side. If, the longer
side is 30 meters more than the shorter side, find the sides of the field.
OR
In a flight for 3000 km, an aircraft was slowed down due to bad weather. Its average speed
for the trip was reduced by 100 km/hr and consequently time of flight increased by one hour.
Find the original duration of flight

34. In a circle of radius 21 cm, a minor arc subtends an angle of 60˚ at the center. Then find
out
i. Length of minor arc. ii. Area of minor sector

iii. Area of major sector iv. Area of corresponding minor segment

OR

A horse is tied to a peg at one corner of a square shaped grass field of side 15 m by
means of a 5 m long rope. Find

(i) the area of that part of the field in which the horse can graze.
(ii) the increase in the grazing area if the rope were 10 m long instead of 5 m.
(Use  = 3.14)

35. State and prove Basic Proportionality Theorem.

Section E (4 MARKS)
CASE BASED QUESTIONS
36. Read the text carefully and answer the questions:
A juice seller is serving his customers using cylindrical container with radius 20cm and
height 50cm. He serves juice into a glass as shown in Fig. The inner diameter of the
cylindrical glass is 5 cm, but the bottom of the glass had a hemispherical raised portion
which reduced the capacity of the glass.

I) If the height of a glass was 10 cm, find the apparent capacity of the glass. (1+1+2)

(II) Find its actual capacity. (Use = 3.14)

(III) Find the capacity of the container in liter?


OR
How many glasses he serves if the container is full?

37. Read the text carefully and answer the questions:


Suman is celebrating his birthday. He invited his friends. He bought a packet of
toffees/candies which contains360 candies. He arranges the candies such that in the first row
there are 3 candies, in second there are 5 candies, in third there are 7 candies and so on.

(i)Find the total number of rows of candies. (1+1+2)


(ii)How many candies are placed in last row?
(iii)Find the number of candies in 12th row.
OR
If Aditya decides to make 15 rows, then how many total candies will be placed by
him with the same arrangement?

38.Read the text carefully and answer the questions:

There are 15 balls numbered from 1 to 15 are used in a game. Players come and pick the
ball randomly to play the game. Then

(i) What is the probability of drawing a ball having prime number? (1+1+2)
(ii) What is the probability of drawing a composite number?
(iii) What is the probability of drawing a multiple of three or an even number on it?

What is the probability of drawing a ball numbered at most 5?
