1) To find the angular velocity that will cause the coffee to just reach the lip of the cup, the formula relating height, angular velocity, radius, and gravity is used. The calculated angular velocity is 345 rpm. 2) For this angular velocity, the gage pressure at point A is calculated using the formula relating pressure, density, height, and radial distance. The pressure is found to be 1010 kg/m3 * 9.81 m/s2 * 0.03 m = 905.6 N/m2.
