When we use Preposition?

Between two nouns: a man with dark hair


Between noun and pronoun: a present for him
Between adjective and noun: good at literature
Between noun and verb: work for living
Between verb and pronoun: come to us

Prepositions’ significances
We use prepositions for many reason. And prepositions have many significances,for
example:

Prepositions of place: in, at, on, under, below, inside, outside, by, between, among,
near, opposite, in front of, behind, around\round, beside, over, above, up, down etc.
Prepositions of direction: to, toward, up, down, through, away, into, back, across, along,
from, out of etc.
Prepositions of time: in, at, on, from, before, after, by, till\until, within, during, since, for,
about etc.
Prepositions of reason: for, because of, according to, as
Prepositions of manner: in, by, without, like, as, with
Prepotions denoting abstract relations: by , with, of, without, besides, between,
among, about, except, against etc.

Preposition: IN
When we use “IN” in the sentences: g) Like “after”: in a minute=after a minute
Use for place: in the sky, in the north, in the h) In this associations: in the present, in the past,
mountain, in the rain etc in the future, in my childhood, in my youth
Use for direction: Put the batteries in the radio. We can use also to mean like style: in a hurry,

Preposition: ON
We use “ON” :
For places: on the grass, on the sand, on the table etc.
For time:
a. With days of week: on Friday, on Sunday evening etc.
b. With times of months, holiday: on the 8 of June, on my birthday, on
Christmas day
With vacations: on excursion, on holiday, on business, on trip, on
journey etc.
Like “about”: many articles on literature
Verb+on: go on, drive on etc. to continue to smth.

Preposition “AT”
We use “AT”:
For places: at the bank, at the meeting
For time:
a. With o’clocks: at five o’clock
b. With some parts of day: at noon, at night, at midnight, at
dawn, at sunset, at the moment, at weekend etc.
c. With holidays: at Novruz, at Christmas

Don’t do this!
You mustn’t use “in, at, on” with this
words: this, last, every, next
