    Community Event #3: Ivan Cornejo Concert

    The Ivan Cornejo Concert took place in Ontario, CA on November 22, 2023
    (Wednesday) at the Toyota Arena. Ivan is a 19 year old Mexican-American singer who grew big
    when his song “Esta Dañada” became so popular that it hit the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
    Attending Ivan Cornejo’s concert was really amazing. There were a lot of people and his concert
    was just overall a really great experience. He was supposed to start at 8:00pm but he came out
    around 9:10pm. When he came out the crowd got really loud. I really enjoyed the energy
    everyone in the arena was giving him but sometimes my ears would hurt by how loud it got. He
    sang some popular songs like “Perro Abandonado” and “Esta Dañada.” He also sang a cover
    song like “¡Corre!” by JESSE & JOY.
    After that he made a joke that the concert was over after 1 hour of singing. Everyone was
    chanting for him to come out and he did. He came out singing out another 2 cover songs by
    Ritchie Valens called, “We Belong Together” and “Donna.” Everyone got really loud and started
    singing along with him. Throughout the whole show he kept smiling and feeling really proud of
    himself. It made me really happy as well that he was getting the recognition he needed because
    there’s not really many popular Mexican-American singers getting the recognition they deserve.
    It still amazes me till this day that he became popular at a really young age because he still has a
    long way to go.
    After all that happened, Ivan Cornejo surprised us and brought out 3 special guests at
    different times. He brought out Yahritza y Su Esencia first. Then, Becky G, and Armado Eslabon
    last. The crowd was loud when Yahritza came out but it got louder when Becky G came out and
    it became even louder when Armado came out. I really love Becky G because well, she was my
    favorite singer growing up and knowing that she began singing songs in Spanish made me really
    happy. I especially love the song she made with Ivan so knowing they sang it at his concert
    made me really excited. They said “2NDO CHANCE.” Her voice sounded really nice and it just
    made me love the concert even more than I already did. Adding on, when Armado Eslabon came
    out, everyone got extremely loud. My ears started to ring a bit because of how loud it was.
    Everyone was just as excited and happy and I was and I was screaming with everyone else as
    well. They both sang the songs, “Hasta La Muerte” and “La Curiosidad.” Everyone was really
    loud singing along with them and after they finished with those two songs, they ended it with
    confetti being thrown at everyone. To end it off, nobody would let Ivan leave without singing his
    recent song “Donde Estás” and so he did. That is how he ended his concert which finished at
    around 10:50pm.
    One of my favorite songs that Ivan Cornejo sang at the concert was his recent song that
    he just came out with called “Donde Estás.” It’s a really well written song, along with a really
    great beat and melody. The song really is great but the lyrics are even better. It was even better to
    see him perform it in person while singing along to it with everyone else. Ivan Cornejo’s concert
    was really great! At first I thought it was just going to be like every other concert but I was still
    very excited. If I could, I would want to go again.
