The purpose of this document is to outline the procedure for implementing / activating the
physical attribute with ETMA interface in the mcBSC.
2 General Information
2.1 Introduction
This MOP is intended to change the EEP address definition for ETMA in the multi-controller
BSC. It requires to delete/remove the logical attribute on ETMA cards and create/assign the
physical attributes in ETMA cards with same IP in mcBSC.
2.2 Pre-requisites
Required a BSC-Data fill & a “Maintenance Window” for live or operational mcBSC
2.2.1 Hardware
McBSC as assign IP to ETMA units ETMA (BMPP2 Card’s)
2.2.2 Software
GSM16
2.2.3 Tools
Reflection/putty for bsc login
2.3 Restrictions
2.4 Schedule
2.5 Back-ups
Take dump of reports including raw counters for last 2-3 weeks from the day you
want to start activity.
2.7 Notification
Inform respective stack holders before starting the activity. This will vary depending
on the customer and circle. It should be previous agreed.

3.3 Removing the logical gateway and logical attribute on ETMA IP’s
b) Remove/delete all the logical gateway IP and IUA message configurations from ETMA.

Change the state of ETMA to TE-EX by command ZUSC, & run diagnosis test of ETMA, after
passing ETMA diagnosis test, change the state of ETMA to WO-EX
3.8 Follow this process (step3.1 – step3.7) for all ETMA cards one by one in the bsc.
4.2 **Check ping response of A-interface association (signalling) with working BCXU.

**Note: Ping test from ETMA to MGW & BCXU to MSS should be checked before the start and
end of the activity
