POLICY
Avantis recognises the importance of ensuring the safe delivery of tools and equipment to the job is a vital part of the
service being provided. However, minimising the use of packaging, and in particular plastics, must be managed aggressively.
Avantis will ensure that all shipments are packaged in an appropriate manner using sustainable products, re-using
containers and boxes etc, and utilising other methods to protect equipment from damage during transit.

• Hazardous materials
• Fragile materials
• Liquids and unstable contents
• Very heavy contents
• Special packaging requirements or restrictions
• Loose multiples

ARRANGEMENTS
Wooden Boxes & Pallets
Manufactured from sustainable sources.

Package Materials
Use of plastics (bubble wrap) and polystyrene products (flow pack) is kept to an absolute minimum. Where
pre-formed plastic blanks (such as end-caps) are used during transportation, they are to be returned to Avantis for re-use
where applicable.

Wrapping Materials
Clingfilm products both clear and black may be used to contain, protect and restrain packaged equipment to pallets etc.
however, minimal quantities shall be used.

Heat Wrap
When using heat wrap, care must be taken with the contents to be packaged as the heat source is an open flame blowlamp
with shroud.
NOTE: Under no circumstances must this product be used to package flammable materials or liquids.

INFORMATION AND TRAINING


Information and training will be provided to employees who may be required to carry out packaging operations.

RECORDS
Records will be kept of information and training provided.
