(iv) What is torque? Write its unit and mathematical form.
(v) Define couple. Give some examples from daily life.
(vi) How much force is required to lift an apple having mass 100 grams?
(vii) How much acceleration is produced when 1 Newton force acts upon a body of 10 kg.
(viii) How much displacement does a body cover in one second when it falls towards earth from
a rest position?
(ix) What is the speed/velocity of a body after 3 seconds when it falls towards earth from a rest
position?
(x) Explain Newton’s third law with daily life examples.
(xi) Define Stable, unstable, and neutral equilibrium with examples.

Q.2 i. Derive second equation of motion 2+3+2

ii. Find the displacement covered when an object having initial velocity of 10m/s moves for 10
second with an acceleration of 10m/𝑠 2 .

iii. Find the displacement a body will cover in free fall in 3 seconds.

Q.3 i. A force F of 10 N is applied at an angle of 30 degree with respect to x-axis. Find the component
of force along x-axis and the component of force perpendicular to x-axis. 2+3+2

ii. If horizontal component of force is 6 N and vertical component of force is 8 N. Find the
magnitude of resultant force.

Iii. Explain torque. On what factors torque depends? Give example for maximum and minimum
torque.

Q.4 i. Find the mass of earth. 2+2+3

ii. Find the gravity at surface of an object having mass equal to 1017 𝑘𝑔 and radius equal to 102 𝑚.

iii. Prove that g at a height h from surface of earth is less than g at the surface of earth.

Q.5 i. Explain Law of conservation of momentum with examples. 4+3

Ii. Determine the recoil velocity of a gun if after firing bullet moves with 500 m/s. Let mass of bullet
is 25gm and mass of gun is 4kg.
