oxidation of the oil.
Do not use water from water cooling/heating devices.

Do not use natural hand-washing soap for the washing machine.

with the product, discolouration, rust, or bad odours.
Place socks and brassieres in a washing net and wash them with the other laundry.

Do not use hardened detergent.

Make sure that the pockets of all the clothing items to be washed are empty.

AddWash
When the AddWash indicator is on, you can stop operation of the machine and put
additional laundry or softener into the drum. The Add Door opens by more than 130° for
easy access.
NOTE
The water inside the drum will not leak if the Add Door is closed properly. Water drops
may form around the door, but they will not leak from inside the drum.
CAUTION
• Do not open the Add Door if suds have formed inside the drum that rise above the
level of the Add Door.
• Do not attempt to open the Add Door while the machine is operating without first
pressing Start/Pause. Please note that the Add Door can be opened unintentionally
(without pressing Start/Pause) when the wash is complete.
• Do not add an excessive load through the Add Door. Performance may be degraded.
• Do not use the lower area of the Add Door as a handle. Your fingers may be caught.
• Make sure that no laundry is caught in the Add Door.
• Keep your pets out of the washing machine, especially the Add Door.

The energy/water efficiency of the current cycle is displayed with a technical summary of
power consumption and water level. This is available only before you start a cycle. If you
try to access this function while the washer is operating, nothing changes on the screen
but an alerting beep.

optimized for Samsung smartphones (Galaxy S and Galaxy Note series). Some
functions of this app may work differently on other devices.
- This app supports iOS 7 or later for iPhone models.
- For enhanced performance, the UI design of this app is subject to change without
notice.
Preparation
1. To enable the app, you are required to enter your Samsung account. You will be guided

in creating a Samsung account if you don't have one directly on the app. No other app
is necessary for this purpose.
2. With your Samsung account, register your washing machine to the Samsung Smart
Home service.
a. Select the washing machine in the device list of the Samsung Smart Home app.
b. Enter the necessary information about the wireless AP that you use for wireless
connection.
c. Follow the onscreen instructions to configure settings for the washing machine.
d. When complete, you will see the washing machine icon on the app. The washing
machine is now ready for use.
CAUTION
• Wi-Fi uncertified routers may fail to establish the connection.
• If installing the washing machine and the AP near microwave ovens or electric
hairdryers, Smart Control may not function properly due to electric interference.
• The washing machine supports only the Wi-Fi 2.4 Ghz protocols.
• The surrounding environment may affect the wireless network performance.
NOTE
• To cancel or exit the network settings, press Back to return to the previous screen, or
restart the washing machine.

Wi-Fi connection
The Wi-Fi network is automatically connected when the washing machine starts operation.
To manually control the Wi-Fi connection, press and hold Temp. and Smart Control for 3
seconds to toggle the Wi-Fi connection on or off.
• LED models: The number 1 indicates the Wi-Fi connection is on while 0 refers to
disconnection.
• LCD models: The Wi-Fi icon turns on or off at the press of the buttons.

Keep an eye on cycle selections, remaining time and finishing alerts when the cycle is
complete.
• AddWash alarm
The AddWash alarm reminds you when to add your laundry or softener during the
wash cycle.
- To use this alarm, you must tap to activate it on the app.
• Remaining laundry alarm
If the washing machine has laundry remaining in the drum after a cycle has finished,
you can be notified of remaining laundry. Turn this alarm on, and specify an alarm
interval. The alarm stays active for up to 12 hours. If you open the door, the alarm will
be terminated and the machine turns off.
NOTE
- To use this alarm, you must tap to activate it on the app.
- The drum may rotate occasionally to prevent the laundry from becoming entangled
and creased, which consumes additional power.

Smart Check
To enable this function, you must first download the Samsung Smart Washer at the Play
Store or the App Store, and install it on a mobile device featuring the camera operation.
The Smart Check function has been optimized for:
Galaxy & iPhone series (cannot be supported for some models)
The washing machine runs the self-diagnosis in the background, and displays an
information code if an error is found. If this is the case, follow the steps below:
1. Run the Samsung Smart Washer app on your mobile device, and tap Smart Check.
2. Present the mobile device to the washing machine’s display panel so that the
smartphone camera and the washing machine face each other. Then, the information
code will be recognized automatically by the app.
3. When the information code is recognized correctly, the app provides detailed
information for the error with further actions.
NOTE
• The function name, Smart Check, may differ depending on the language.
• If the washing machine reflects light on the display, the app may fail to recognize the
information code.
• If the app fails to recognize the Smart Check code consecutively, enter the information
code manually onto the app screen.
