Amas CAED 4th Year

Narrative Week 3 (FPA’s Intramurals)

On Monday, after our JOB108 orientation, I went straight to the Foundation Preparatory

Academy to check the missing equipment that can be used in intramurals, especially the

equipment for the Larong Pinoy part of the intramurals. I helped the SSG prepare what was

needed on the stage. I designed a stage-like curtain and placed it on both sides of the

tarpaulin where the theme of intramurals was written. I was happy because I also mingled

with the student supreme government of FPA. Then we had a final meeting with my co-

majors and cooperating teachers about what would happen in intramurals.

On the first day of the intramurals, I went past 4 in the morning because that's when we

were instructed to get there early to guide the students who entered early for the

intramurals and also to watch over the students who had a small parade to be done

outside. The intramurals also got off to a good start that morning. A lot happened; there

was a cheerdance competition and a mascot competition for each house. Then we were

assigned to facilitate the Pinoy Game, where the students use the tools we made, like

"Takarang," or the gourd game where you walk on your knuckles, sackrace, and tire racing.

In that game, we facilitators will be patient, watch out for things like perishable materials,

and also be active in changing them. After that, in the afternoon, on the first day, I was

assigned to facilitate the game of badminton, although it was not aligned with my course

Culture and Arts because we don't have a major sports subject. I also tried to learn how to

facilitate it and was successful there as well. I had the chance to meet and get to know
different FPA students and how talented and sporty they are. I was also amazed at how my

fellow majors, like PE, taught me how to play badminton. After that, day 1 of intramurals

was also successful.

With the arrival of day 2, we facilitated again in the fight for championship in badminton. It

became more challenging for me to be a facilitator; I must have a quick eye to see their

errors or mistakes in playing badminton. Although the battle was hot in the fight for the

championship, the result was still good, and I am happy that no one complained to us for

facilitating the badminton game. After badminton, we also helped to see and facilitate the e-

games or digital games like COD or Call of Duty. I'm amazed at how they are competitive

and very friendly, though even the other opponent was going to lose the battle game. After

that, I proceed to check their basketball game, even if I don't know how to play, but I still

manage to help the BPE boys and just be the scorer on the game.

On the third day, it looked so tiring. This is a very challenging day because we were

facilitated at the track in the field where it was very hot outside. We were there to be the

timers for the running and running relay. I could see the tension in every house, which is

very common in all the competitions, but at the end of it, it was successful. After that track

and field, I went back to the basketball game of the boys. I can see a lot of them are very

competitive. Everyone on the team cheers for their players, and it really feels surreal

during my high school days. After taking my lunch, I went to Sofia Soller Since Hall to guide

the students in their stage blocking for their final performance on the last day of

intramurals. I have seen very cute students from the grade school where they dance, and I

have seen many talented high school students showcase their talents. After that, I gathered
them and went back to FPA, and again, I got the chance to help facilitate the basketball

game by being the scorer, and it was a nice experience to see everyone being very

competitive just to win. And at the end of my day, I make a stage again with the SSG for the

presentation of the last day or the closing day of intramurals. Looking back, being a student

teacher during these intramurals wasn't just about tasks; it was a journey of learning and

connecting with the vibrant FPA community. The responsibility I had allowed me to

understand the diverse talents and sportsmanship of the students, leaving a lasting impact

on my role as a student teacher.
