of this spectrum:
1. **L: Lesbian** - Refers to women who are attracted romantically, emotionally, or sexually to
other women.
2. **G: Gay** - Originally meant to describe men who are attracted romantically, emotionally, or
sexually to other men, but it is also used more broadly to encompass the entire spectrum of

to people of more than one gender.
4. **T: Transgender** - Refers to individuals whose gender identity differs from the sex assigned
to them at birth. This includes a diverse range of gender identities beyond the binary of male
and female.
5. **Q: Queer** - Originally used as a derogatory term, "queer" has been reclaimed by some as
an inclusive and umbrella term to represent all sexual orientations and gender identities outside
of the heterosexual and cisgender norms.
6. **I: Intersex** - Describes individuals who are born with physical or biological sex
characteristics that do not fit typical definitions of male or female.
7. **A: Asexual** - Describes individuals who experience little or no sexual attraction to others.
The "+" at the end acknowledges and includes the many other identities and expressions that
fall under the broad umbrella of sexual orientation, gender identity, and expression. It's a way of
being inclusive of the diversity within the LGBTQIA+ community that may not be explicitly
represented by the initial letters.
