Mech662 Test-Exam Set A

This document provides instructions for a lab report assignment on wireless communications. Students will use MATLAB to: 1) Generate a 95Hz cosine wave and 190Hz sine wave, add them, and plot the amplitude spectrum with a 3.5kHz sampling rate. 2) Develop a model, record and present the data in graphs, analyze the output, interpret the results, and submit a group report. The assignment is worth a total of 100 points and will be graded based on rubrics evaluating the accuracy of the model, data presentation, analysis, interpretation, and report.

Answer the following:
Objectives
1. To understand how to construct a sampled signal in MATLAB
2. To study the MATLAB function required for analyzing the signal in the
frequency domain
3. To display the simulation result of amplitude spectrum of signal
Equipment Use: MATLAB SIMULINK/ https://www.mathworks.com/ (Mathworks
account)
1. Analyse the signals given below and plot the amplitude spectrum of the sum of
these two signals with sampling rate of 3.5kHz
i) Generate a segment of 95 Hz cosine wave for the duration of 35 ms
ii) Create a second sine wave, with a frequency double than that of first, and add it
to the first signal that we have and display it in 2 graphs
. Observe the output.
a) Development of model and Recorded & presented data in graph (25)
b) Analyzed the overall output of simulation (25)
c) Interpret the output and shown result (25)
d) Perform in group and Submit Report (25)
