Getting Started

Whether you have an IBM-provided mobile device or you want to take advantage of
the Bring Your Own Device (BYOD) program, start here for information about enrolling
your iOS or Android device in Mobile@IBM using MaaS360.

Connect your device to IBM services in FOUR EASY

STEPS:
Note: If IBM provided your iPad or iPhone, it might be registered in Apple's Device
Enrollment Program (DEP), which automates some of the enrollment steps. You'll
know if your device is enrolled in DEP if you're prompted to enter your w3id and
password during the initial setup. In that case, you can skip directly to Step 4 below.
Watch our DEP setup video for more information.
Step 1: Make sure your device is running iOS 16.x or Android 13.x and
navigate to m.dm/ibm using the device's browser.

For detailed setup instructions or troubleshooting help on the mobile setup

process, visit the IT Support setup topic for iOS or Android or view our customized
and comprehensive setup videos below.
If you're migrating to a new iPhone, be sure to check out this article.
Step 2: Sign in with your w3id and password and then follow the on-
screen instructions to do the following:

Install the MaaS360 app. MaaS360 is the IBM app that enables mobile-as-a-
service (MaaS) functionality on your device.
Set up device management profiles, including profiles for VPN, Wi-Fi, email, and
security standards.
Step 3: Set up email, calendar, and contacts for work.

Mobile configuration options and set-up instructions vary depending on your mail
server type. For complete details, visit the device setup instructions in the IT
Support pages for iOS or Android.

For most IBMers, Mobile@IBM recommends using the Apple Mail app on iOS
and Outlook on Android.
For those on Outlook, remember to use your w3ID and password to set up your
email, calendar, and contacts.
Step 4: Install apps:

Use the IBM App Store (iOS) or the Enterprise Google Play Store (Android) to
install apps for work. Be sure to check out the list of Top IBM Apps Available for
some suggestions in IT Support.
