Analysis/ Application:

The results from FEM tool (Etabs) are not readily applicable. They need thorough
analysis. The Longitudinal reinforcement and Shear reinforcement for beam and
column from Etabs need to be examined manually to ensure no any rendered error
during modelling. In addition to this, earthquake induced response such as drift,
Storey shear, fundamental mode shapes etc. need to be checked to confront codal
provision.

Project Summary:

The trend of high rise building is increasing rapidly in our country. However,
proper design of building is must for every short of building with proper earthquake
consideration given the fact that Nepal is prone to frequent earthquakes. Hence this
project was an attempt to learn out various design practices prevalent during design of
a multi storied building.
Earthquake, being one of the most devastating natural calamities, has also added an
extra attention in the design of these structures. So, it is significant to consider the
earthquake effect (seismic effect), unique loading patterns, bearing capacity of the
subsurface for the seismic design and analysis of multistory buildings. So, it is
significant to consider the seismic effect, loading pattern, bearing capacity of soil, etc.
for the seismic design and analysis of multistoried buildings. In correspondent to this,
we propose to perform a project on “Earthquake Resistant Analysis and Design of
Multistoried Building Structure”.
