1. Safety instructions
These safety precautions must be observed minutely!
Inappropriate operation of the system may cause material damage
possibly causing harm to the operator abd bystanders!

• Carefully read the operating instructions and safety precautions before first set-up.

• Keep the operating instructions for later reference.

• Make sure the local power supply meets the requirements of the ScreenLifter (check
type label) before operating the system!

• Manipulation or replacement of any system components may only be carried out by

qualified technical personnel approved by the manufacturer or its distributors.

• In case of malfunctions of the ScreenLifter (emission of fumes, unusual noise, etc.) shut
off all system components and disconnect all power connections. A moderate smell of
oil during lifting or lowering of the screen is caused by warming of the lubricants applied
to the mechanical parts of the lifting mechanism, and is not a sign of malfunction

• The ScreenLifter may not be operated in a potentially explosive atmosphere.

• Do not operate the ScreenLifter outdoors. The ScreenLifter may be operated in a dry
environment only.

• The maximum weight of the ScreenLifter system (ScreenLifter plus transport case) includ-
ing a display is approx. 650 kg / 1433 lb*. When setting up the ScreenLifter, consider the
loadcarrying capacity and condition of the surface, particularly of stages or other non-
permanent constructions.

• Only set up the ScreenLifter on a flat and level surface!

• When moving the screen up, down or rotating, it must be ensured that no objects,
cables or body parts are pinched in.

• Different types of display require different corresponding adapter frames. Do not mount
a display if you are not in possession of the dedicated adapter frame.

• When opening the transport case, never open the clasps on both lids at the same time.
Doing so may cause one lid to fall while lifting off the other.

• The removed case lids must be secured against tipping over. It is best to place them
next to each other on the floor, and to close the four clasps that connect the two lids.

• Check all bolted connections before operating the ScreenLifter.

• If you detect parts bent or otherwise damaged, the ScreenLifter must not be operated
any longer.

• Never try to carry out repairs of the ScreenLifter! The Screenlifter may only be serviced
by the manufacturer, or trained technicians approved by the manufacturer or its dis-
tributors.

• The maximum duration of continuous operation of the lifting mechanism of 2 minutes

ON (see type label) must never be exceeded!

• If there is an increased requirement for stability (in case of trade fairs, places frequented
by the public, etc.) or if you want to move the lower edge of the display over 130cm,
mount the extensions are provided in order to increase the base area of the Screen-
Lifter.

2. Introduction
The ScreenLifter system is an integrated storage, transport, and support solution for large-
format screens (Plasma, TFT, etc.), substiantially reducing manual labor during transport and
installation.
Once you have attached the display, the ScreenLifter system takes care of transporting,
positioning, lifting and lowering your display. With the ScreenLifter you can even rotate your
Display into potrait orientation.
The lifting mechanism of the ScreenLifter is not designed for continous operation exceeding
the duty cycle of 2 minutes ON/18 minutes OFF.

4. Operating the ScreenLifter

4.1 Features and funtion of the control unit
The ScreenLifter is operated via a wired remote control. The connection socket for the re-
mote control is located on the bck of the base plate.

During operation, the running time of the motors is recorded by the controller to protect
against overheating. The controller switches off the motors after continuous operation of
max. 2 minutes. In this case, wait 18 minutes. After the cooling time, you can put the lifting
mechanism back into operation.

In rare cases, a vertical offset may occur between the rotors of the two lifting columns
during operation. As long as the ScreenLifter is connected to the power supply, a possible
offset is detected by the control unit and automatically corrected. However, if an offset
occurs while the ScreenLifter is disconnected from the power supply, e.g during storage or
transport, a reset mustt be performed (see 6.3.).

4.2 Unloading the ScreenLifter from the transport case

1. Remove the covers of the transport case. Secure the lids against falling over by placing
them next to each other and closing the top of the lids.

1.

2. Slide the ScreenLifter with the rolling board

to the desired location and remove the
small slide-in board on the back of the
base plate.

6. Mounting the extensions.

For increased safety requirements, such as trade shows or areas with public traffic, you
should increase the footprint of the ScreenLifter using the extension plates.

We also recommend mounting the plates if the bottom edge of the display is to be moved
over 120 cm. The indication in the display of the remote control shows approximately the
height of the lower edge of the picture.
The plates are stored in the case and are screwed to the base plate using the M8 screws
provided.
If the ScreenLifter is to be placed in front of a wall, only the two front panels can be mount-
ed.

4.3 Loading the ScreenLifter into the transport case

1. If necessary, disassemble the extensions before loading the ScreenLifter into the trans-
port case.
2. Press and hold the "2" button to move the screen to the correct height for loading into the
transport case. The motors stop when "60" appears in the display.
3. Push the roller board from the front to the stop under the screen. Make sure that no pro-
truding parts or other objects in the case damage the display. Hold the roller board in
position.

4. Press and hold the "1" button to lower the screen onto the support and lift the Screen-
Lifter base plate off the surface. The motors stop automatically when the base is com-
pletely retracted.
5. Turn off the ScreenLifter and disconnect the remote control. Disconnect the power sup-
ply and insert the small slide-in board. The ScreenLifter is now securely anchored to the
rolling board and ready for transport.

4.4 Use of the Rollerboard

In order to move the LED wall quickly and safely from A to B in closed buildings, we offer
a rolling board as an accessory, which is smaller and more maneuverable than the large
case for truck transport. Be especially careful when using the rolling board, as the LED wall
on it is unprotected against impacts and collisions with objects. When you want to park
the LED wall, apply the two brakes on the back of the roller board to prevent it from mov-
ing unintentionally.

- ATTENTION-

Do not forget to unscrew the extensions before loading the LED-Lifter

onto the roller board.

FALSE CORRECT

To load the roller board, follow steps 1 to 5 from chapter 4.3, to remove the roller board
follow steps 2 to 5 from chapter 4.2

4.5 Raising and lowering the screen

When operating the ScreenLifter, make sure there is sufficient distance to other objects,
ceilings,persons, etc.
The maximum continuous operating time of the lifting mechanism of 2 minutes must under
no circumstances be exceeded! Before restarting the lifting mechnism, allow it to cool
down for 18 minutes.
Use the "1" and "4" buttons to adjust the screen height according to your preferen-
ces.

5. Dismounting/Mounting the Display on the ScreenLifter

For the disassembly/assembly of the LED

wall, you will need the two fixing angles
and 4 M8x16 screws from the ScreenLifter
accessories.

Mount the two fixing angles on the back

to the upper edge of the LED wall. Suit-
able sliding blocks are located in the
horizontal profiles for mounting. Do not
use screws longer than max. M8 x 18. The
brackets cannot be fastened securely
with screws that are too long.

8 cm

The weight of the LED wall is about 250

kg. To lift it out of the lugs, you need load
loops or chain hoists that you attach to
the eyebolts. First, lift the LED wall 8 cm
upwards until all four display holders are
above the lugs.

© MediaScreen GmbH
MediaScreen GmbH SL Mobile LED 135 11

20 cm

Then move the wall forward at least 20

cm to get the electrical box in front of the
column frame. You can then pull the wall
upwards and stow the ScreenLifter in the
case.

To mount the LED wall on the ScreenLifter, proceed in reverse order. First, bring the display
to the correct height (Alternatively, you can also adjust the height of the column frame
with the remote control of the ScreenLifter when you connect the lifter to the power sup-
ply).
Then move the display in the direction of the column frame until the four display holders
are located above the tabs. Now lower the LED wall and make sure that the grooves in
the display holders slide into the tabs. To simplify threading, the two lower tabs are lon-
ger than the upper tabs and will therefore engage first. When correctly mounted, all four
tabs are in the grooves of the display holders and the LED wall hangs horizontally on the
ScreenLifter.

Modules

Frame

SL MobileLED with frame

SL MobileLED with modules

If you mount the modules yourself, it is very important to have the correct position of the bot-
tom edge of the modules. If they hang too high, the case lids cannot be closed and if they
hang too low, there is a risk that they will be damaged when they are loaded into the case
or transported in the case.
The correct height of the bottom edge of the modules is 23 mm above the lower edge of
the column bracket, as seen in the drawing above. The deviation should not be more than
+/-3 mm.
If you have any questions about mounting the modules, contact the manufacturer.

6.4 Loading with lifting platform

As described in pictures 1-3, the case can be loaded into a 7.5 ton truck without other
aids, such as forklifts, etc., due to the special arrangement of the castors. The lifting plat-
form should be at least 180cm long.
For safety reasons, loading and unloading should be carried out by at least three people.
One person operates the lifting platform, the other two secure the case.
Please also note the max. lifting capacity of the lifting platform. Depending on the equip-
ment, the case with ScreenLifter can weigh up to 670kg. When lifting and lowering the
platform, the case should therefore always be as close as possible to the truck.

6.5 End position adjustment of the lifting columns

In rare cases, a vertical offset may occur between the sliders of the two lifting columns. As
long as the ScreenLifter is connected to the power supply, a possible misalignment is de-
tected by the control unit and automatically corrected. However, if an offset of the sliders
occurs while the ScreenLifter is disconnected from the power supply, e.g. during storage
or transport, a manual end position adjustment must be performed.

If possible, the end position adjustment should be performed without the screen mounted.

Please read the following three steps before performing the end position adjustment! In
any case, carry out all three steps of this manual!

Perform end position adjustment:

1. Press and hold the "RESET" button on the remote control — both sliders start to
move downwards. If one of the two sliders is already in its lower end position, nothing
will apparently happen. Nevertheless, keep pressing the " RESET" button until you
hear a click.
2. As soon as the lower of the two rotors reaches its end position, both motors switch off
and you hear a clicking sound from the control unit. This is not yet the end position
adjustment!
3. Release the " RESET" button and press and hold it again. Keep it pressed until the
upper slider also starts to move downwards (it can take up to 20 seconds until this
happens) and finally reaches its lower end position. As soon as it has also reached its
lower end position, the motor switches off and you hear a click again. The end posi-
tion adjustment is now done and the ScreenLifter is ready for use again.
