List Of polluted Natural Resources

1. Air Pollution

Air pollution is the introduction of harmful substances into the air that can
lead to detrimental impacts on the environment and humanity. Pollutants
can be natural, such as volcanic ash, or created by human activity, such as
trash or runoff produced by factories. Regular exposure to a higher sound
level that impacts humans and other living organisms is known as sound
pollution.
2. Water Pollution

Water pollution occurs when harmful materials like chemicals or waste

matter are directly or indirectly discharged into water bodies. Water
pollution can be defined as the contamination of water bodies. Water
pollution is caused when water bodies such as rivers, lakes, oceans,
groundwater, and aquifers get contaminated with industrial and agricultural
effluents.
3. Soil Pollution

Soil pollution refers to the contamination of soil with anomalous

concentrations of toxic substances. It is a serious environmental concern
since it harbours many health hazards. For example, exposure to soil
containing high concentrations of benzene increases the risk of contracting
leukaemia.
4. Forest Pollution

Forest pollution refers to the contamination and degradation of forest

ecosystems. This can occur through various means such as deforestation,
forest fires, and the introduction of harmful substances. The construction
and land disturbance required for oil and gas drilling can alter land use and
harm local ecosystems by causing erosion and fragmenting wildlife habitats
and migration patterns.
5. Mineral Pollution

Mineral pollution primarily refers to the environmental impacts caused by

mining and mineral processing. These operations often have high water
footprints and can lead to reduced access for local people to
uncontaminated freshwater supplies. Mining also results in significant land
disturbance and can harm local ecosystems.
6. Natural Gas Pollution

The drilling and extraction of natural gas from wells and its transportation
in pipelines results in the leakage of methane, the primary component of
natural gas. Methane is 34 times stronger than CO2 at trapping heat over a
100-year period and 86 times stronger over 20 years. The combustion of
natural gas produces nitrogen oxides (NOx), which are precursors to smog,
and small amounts of sulfur, mercury, and particulates .

Remember, it’s our responsibility to take steps to reduce pollution for a healthier planet
