Regd-No : 2021-MC-39
OBJECTIVES:
1. The implement the electropneumatic circuit for the given task. [CLO2]
2. To perform effectively in a group [CLO8]
APPARATUS:
Compressor, Service unit, manifold, 5/2 Solenoid Valve, Inductive proximity sensors, double acting cylinders,
Electrical push button module, electrical relay module.
Pre-Lab Reading:
Making an electrical diagram for an electro-pneumatic circuit.
Displacement-step diagram
Electro-pneumatics.
Timer-ON and Timer-OFF delay relays.
Pre-Lab Work:
Question no 1: How does an electro-pneumatic system differ from a simple pneumatic one? Also draw the symbol
of a 5/2 solenoid actuated, solenoid return valve.
Ans: An electro-pneumatic system incorporates electrical components, such as sensors and solenoid valves,
to control and enhance the functionality of a pneumatic system, offering greater precision and automation
compared to a simple pneumatic system.
Question no 2: How does adding electrical components to a pneumatic circuit help reduce overall circuit size?
Ans: Adding electrical components to a pneumatic circuit enables the use of smaller, more efficient valves and
controls, reducing overall circuit size.
