THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Technology is in demand in today's world, with the help of technology more work

processes are easier to done. and when it comes to communication, while technology is

constantly moving forward and changing, technology also help improve the industry by

creating new form of high-tech, new idea and new knowledge that could be benefit the

world to create a better future. when it comes to communication, technology helps to

improve the capability of communication. This is because of the internet, with the use of

the internet it can easily reach other people around the world by using a high-tech gadget

that could send messages, video calls, emails and other things that can used to

communicate with others. Technology and human life cannot be separated; society has a

cyclical co-dependence on technology. Sometimes, radical improvements in

communication made possible by the internet and associated devices -- such as laptops

and smart phones (Patrick Gleeson, 2018). We use technology; depend on technology in

our daily life and our needs and demands for technology keep on rising. Humans use

technology to travel, to communicate, to learn, to do business and to live in

comfort(Karehka Ramey, 2012).

 Many tourists visit us to feel the heat in our country. especially when the summer

comes, many tourists are coming to enjoy the warm weather. The lagoon resort is a great

choice and suitable for guests who are going to Baloy long beach in Baretto. Their goal is

to provide everyone with a good service at their resort, the resort is complete with all the

needs of guests. The facility is complete with standard room for no budget, superior room

with Wi-Fi inside for tourist who always use social media, family room for tourists with

children and an apartment room for guest who want to stay longer in the resort. This

resort has Wi-Fi access, car park and room service. Their rooms are well-designed to

make the tourists comfortable. Inside the resort you can also enjoy outdoor swimming

pools, Darts and Billiards that can be used by adults, there is also a mini bar so tourists

will not go out to get to another bar, they also have Live band available every day.

In lagoon resort the manager has a huge responsibility for their business, because

he oversees everything that is happening in the business. he is also the one who in charge

in managing and organizing he’s staff, to offer them a wisdom, to be able to motivate

them and discipline them to keep the operation run properly and achieve the business

goals. Success in business happens because of successful employees. That being said,

strong managers are one of the most critical components of Employee Success after all,

employees leave managers, not companies (razor suleman, 2013). General managers are

sometimes called operations managers because they are responsible for the successful

day-to-day functioning of an organization. Though they may have a nice private office,

they spend most of their time visiting different parts of their facilities to encourage

teamwork and efficiency. Formal education, strong communication skills and prior

experience are preferred qualifications (Aurelio Locsin, 2018).

Payroll is used to determine the wage earned by company's employees, here also

will see all the employees of a company and it will also know which employees are active

and not in a company. Good attendance means more than just getting your body in the

seat, though. You must be mentally and emotionally present as well (Jane Smith, 2018).

With the passage of time the needs of an organization grow, therefore, the operational

work and responsibilities are also grown. That is why there is a need of hiring more

employees. Calculating salaries of many employees requires a lot of work and chances of

occurring errors also increase. Automatic Payroll Processing System (APPS) simplifies

the work by reducing errors and saving the time (A. Rehman and N. A. Zafar, 2016).

However, their business is growing and despite providing excellent service to

visitors they still have problems in terms of checking of their attendance and calculation

of their salary of their employees. The lagoon resort does not use a systematic method to

count the attendance of employees and calculate their salaries. Each employee has DTR

cards where it lists their attendance on the day, they enter their work at lagoon resort.

Sometimes in the unexpected times it is unavoidable to lose the DTR card for other

employees because of their resort's sometimes busy or they just do not know where they

left them or they just left it somewhere, which causes some employees to lose their DTR

card and it also affects the manager who record the attendance of the employees.

Statement of the Objectives

The main objective of the study is to develop a program that could easily compute

their attendance and their salaries.

Specifically, the study aims to achieve the following objectives:

1. Design and construct a program that can store employee’s information and also

that has edit delete function.

2. To create a program which will no longer be hassle for the user to check the

attendance of each employee/staff.

3. To create a program that would make the process of calculating their salaries

easily.

Significance of the Study

The project study will be beneficial and helpful to the students, Institution, Community

and to other researchers.

Manager. This study will help the Manager to manage the attendance of the

employees easily and to reduce some errors in their attendance.

Institution. This study will help the institution to provide more information on

what is the importance of payroll and what it will impact on a business

Community. The study will help the community to give them a more information

about this program, specially to other business owner.

 Other Researchers. This study helps the other researcher to give them more

information about how this study works and to widen their knowledge about how

payroll works.

Scope and Delimitation

The main focus of this study is to create and design a Payroll System of the

Lagoon Resort in baretto. The language will be used to create this program is C#. the

program can calculate the number of attendance and calculate the salaries of each

employee. The proposed system can only use in calculating salaries and counting the

number of attendances. The program can use in all business that needed a payroll.

income tax from employee earnings; at the end of the year, they must report all wages,

tips and other compensation paid. Companies also must withhold Social Security and

Medicare contributions from employees' wages and pay a matching amount.

Payroll System program allows the monthly payroll schedule to be calculated accurately.

Just by having all employees’ information such as name, rate per hour, working hours,

etc to enter to its database. Therefore, payroll can be done with the guide of the program.

The system is good in for its specialty in the fields of accurate computations. It is easy to

use, effective and efficient in organizing and calculating the payroll. In addition, this

Store for a better manageable of a business. The Proposed Computerized Payroll System

will give a big relief of the employee and employers as well.

In the organization, payroll cost is the capital that spends for the employees for

their services. The costs of payroll are including the basic payroll distribution for

employee’s incentives. Other costs that involved are the benefit for the employee such as

medical services and insurance plan, sales commission and bonus pay. (Wisegeek ,2001)

The pay system that can use by the organization is Performance Related pay

system which is the employee’s payroll will be paid based on the performance. The

advantages are the organizations can motivate the employee by money and delivers the

message that employee performance is important element in the organization.

METHODS OF RESEARCH

Software

This program, we use Windows 10 to run the program we create. We use C#

language since we have more knowledge about this language. We also use SQL language

in our program and design for managing data held in a relational database management

system.

Hardware

CPU: Dual core

A dual-core processor is a CPU with two processors or “execution cores” in the

same integrated circuit. Each processor has its own cache and controller, which enables it

to function as efficiently as a single processor.

RAM: 4gb Ram

 Random-access memory (RAM) is s type of storage for computer systems that

make it possible to access data very quickly in random order. 4GB RAM means it can

store 4GB of data temporarily or if you count in number of characters then 4GB RAM

can hold 4294967296 characters.

HDD: 5 GB Available space

A gigabyte pronounced with two hard Gs is a unit of data storage capacity that is

roughly equivalent to 1 billion bytes. It is also equal to two to the 30 th power or

1,073,741,824 in decimal notation. Giga comes from a Greek word meaning giant.

Data

The researcher uses the necessary details of the employee for inputting some

information and records. These includes: (a) Employee’s Information, (b) Numbers of

employee, (c) Time in/ time out, (d) Rate per hour, (e) Overtime, (f) Late deduction per

hour.

Method 1

We create an employee list in our program where we can search the desired

employee and once we click on the employee we search for, it will pop up another form

named profile where inside of it, it shows all the information of an employee in a read

only mode where the user cannot edit or change the information of the employee. In

profile form we create three buttons named edit, delete and ok button. In edit once we

click the edit button all the read only textbox of the form will turn into editable textbox,

its use to edit the information of an employee, once we click the ok button it will save the

change in the form and update in database.

Method 2

In the home screen of the program we create a search button where we can search

an employee id of an employee, once we search a desired employee it will show the name

of the employee and also the time in required and time out required of the employee that

we’ve search. Below we can see two radio buttons where named time in and time out, its

use to check the attendance of an employee, once we click the time in radio button and

click the save button it will automatically save the time in of an employee and also in

time out once we click the time out radio button and click save it will automatically save

the time out of an employee.

Method 3

We create button in home screen of the program where it will redirect in payroll

form, this form have a search button where we can search an employee id and once we

search an employee it will show all the information of an employee like number of hour

that the employee attended, rate, overtime rate etc. also when search an employee it will

automatically calculate the gross pay and net pay of an employee and also we create a

save button where we can save the data of the calculation of the salary.
