Directions: Answer the following questions below based on what you have learned.
Answer it ONLY on your own words.

1. Differentiate Internet and the Web.

In my own idea and based on what I read that the Internet is the overarching
global network infrastructure, while the World Wide Web is a specific service or
application that operates on top of the Internet, providing a platform for the
creation, dissemination, and retrieval of information in the form of
interconnected web pages. The Web is just one of many services that utilize the
Internet for communication and data exchange.
3. It says that internet is an interconnected computer network around the world,
but how does internet work or how does those computer communicate and
allow us to share information?

The Internet connects computers and devices worldwide through a network

infrastructure, facilitating data transmission, ensuring consistent
communication through standardized protocols like TCP/IP, and directing
packets efficiently. ISPs provide access, DNS converts domain names into IP
addresses, and servers and clients host information and services. Transmission
Control Protocol and Internet Protocol ensure reliable data delivery, while
firewalls protect networks.

4. Briefly explain the 5 Major components of the internet.

The Internet comprises several major components that work together to facilitate
global communication and information exchange. Here are five key components:

1. Network Infrastructure:

 The physical and virtual network of interconnected devices, including

computers, routers, and servers, forms the foundation of the Internet.

2. Protocols (TCP/IP):

 Standardized communication protocols, such as the Transmission

Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP) collectively known as
TCP/IP, ensure consistent and reliable data transmission across the
Internet.

3. Domain Name System (DNS):

 DNS translates human-readable domain names (e.g., www.example.com)
into numerical IP addresses, allowing users to access websites by name
rather than memorizing IP addresses.

4. Internet Service Providers (ISPs):

 ISPs are companies that provide users with access to the Internet. They
offer various technologies (DSL, cable, fiber-optic, wireless) to connect
individuals and organizations to the Internet.

5. World Wide Web (Web):

 The Web is a major application running on the Internet, allowing users to

access and share information through interconnected hypertext
documents. It relies on web browsers, URLs (Uniform Resource Locators),
and web servers.

These components collectively create a dynamic and interconnected environment that

enables the exchange of data, services, and information on a global scale.

General Grading Criteria (1 - 5 points):

5 - Responses are excellent and demonstrate a high level of understanding and clarity.

4 - Responses are good and mostly clear.

3 - Responses are satisfactory but may lack some clarity.

2 - Responses are not very clear or are somewhat inaccurate.

1 - Responses are poor, unclear, and inaccurate.
