Project File Checkpoint 3

This document provides instructions for a Grade 12 student to complete and submit a STREAM project assessment. It details 7 tasks for designing an Arduino robotic vehicle chassis using CAD software. Students are asked to provide sketches and 3D models of the chassis at various stages of development. They must also list advantages and disadvantages of different design methods, and rate their own CAD skills level. The completed document with all tasks is to be saved and submitted digitally to the teacher for a total of 100 marks.

3. STREAM Project (Activity 3.2.3, WB P.89) (22 marks)

A. Create a new Fusion 360 design. Insert and position all the required components
of a simple Arduino robotic vehicle inside a 140mm x 140mm construction
square. Use this CAD software to complete a sketch of a chassis plan view in the
provided 140mm square shown in the WB P.89. (10 marks)

B. List one advantage and one disadvantage of each method of creating a possible
chassis sketch. (12 marks)

4. STREAM Project (Activity 3.2.4, WB P.90) (10 marks)

Open your Fusion 360 chassis design. Define the position of 2 motors using rigid joints.
Place all other components on the chassis also. Paste an image of your chassis
assembled with all the components below OR a share link of CAD solution.

6. STREAM Project (Activity 3.2.7, WB P.93) (20 marks)

Add motor mounts to your 3D model from activity 3.2.6. Use your knowledge of the
combine tool to ensure the mounts are combined to the chassis to be 3D printed as
one part. Paste an image of your 3D model below OR a share link of CAD solution.

Novice, the CAD design showed limited experience in using some of the studied
4-5 marks
essential tools.

Intermediate, the CAD design showed a good application where the design included
some basic modification tools (e.g., fillet, chamfer etc.) and included basic joints to the 6-7 marks
components.

Advanced. the CAD design showed an excellent application where the design includes
8 marks
some level of personal interpretation and application of advanced modelling tools.
