    Types of Architecture

    What is architecture? Architecture is the art and science of designing


    buildings. In a broader sense, architecture includes the design and
    construction of the entire built environment, from the macro level, such as
    urban planning, urban planning, and landscape architecture, to the micro some thi
    arc
    level such as architectural design, furniture design, and product design.
    Architecture also refers to the results of the design process. According to
    Francis DK Ching (1979) architecture forms a link that unites space, form,
    technology and function. The architecture degree program is a very
    popular degree program in Indonesia and has a large number of
    enthusiasts.

    Although the Department of Architecture is part of the Faculty of


    Engineering, it is slightly different from other engineering majors because
    it focuses more on aspects of art, the environment, aesthetics, and the
    value of building functions. On the other hand, architecture expresses
    ideas, concepts and designs. In studying architecture, students must study
    the strength of the building (firmitas), the aesthetics or beauty of the
    building (venustas), and the function of the building (utility). To enter the
    Department of Architecture, you must have an interest in building design
    and design.
