DESCRIPTION:
Environmental engineers design systems, processes and equipment for air, water and soil pollution assessment, prevention and control, solid and hazardous waste management, and the remediation of contaminated sites.
SKILLs:
Able to think logically and solve problems, sometimes working with limited data Patient, organized, detailed and able to work with mechanical devices and instruments
EDUCATION:
A degree in environmental engineering or a related discipline Should be able to use advanced technology (for example, computer models) in assessing environmental contamination Must be a registered member of the Ontario Professional Engineers Association

PROGRAM DESCRIPTION:
The environmental engineering eld in the graduate program focuses on urban facilities and environment and environmental informatics. It emphasizes the analysis of water and waste systems (e.g. sewage, wastewater, drinking water supply, municipal solid wastes); and infrastructure required to support these and other systems in the urban environment. Social and political issues that arise in these types of analyses relate to sustainable urban systems, and integration across urban systems.

GETTING STARTED
THE FOLLOWING ARE 3 SIMPLE WAYS OF GETTING STARTED IN THE CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY:
You can begin by applying for a job directly in the Civil Construction Industry. Once you begin working with a Construction Company or Contractor you will quickly gain the necessary skills needed to advance yourself through in-house, work-as-you-learn training. You can enrol in a University, Community College or a Private Technical School to study and prepare yourself for a Career in Civil Construction. All of this information may be found through our website. You can get started through an apprenticeship program by combining on the job training with technical in-class training gaining experience and increased responsibility. You can work in the industry, get paid and work towards earning credits.
