HOW PAGSANGHAN GOT ITS NAME?
Pagsanghan begun its development as a town from sitio called LINGAWID, (name after a tree called
langawid) where the first few houses were put up by the native of palanas, a sitio, the name of which was
taken/hailed from share uneven edges of a rocky ground locally called palanas (rock) from which a river
bank divides the Gandara River into two branches. Sitio langawid was surrounded by a
vast swamp where nipa, palms and mangrove teers covered the entire area.Sitio langawid was converted to
a barangay named Pagsanghan as it was situated in a place along the river branching into two directions.
