LAB 3

Virtual Machine Creation [Client] &Windows 10 Installation

TASK 1 : Creation of a Virtual Machine[for Windows Client ].

1. In Hyper-V Manager, click Action > New > Virtual Machine to bring up the New Virtual

Machine Wizard.
2. Review the ‘Before You Begin’ content and click Next.

3. Give the virtual machine a name. You may give the name as 210Yourname-Client

[without space]. E.g.: 210AnnetNoel-Client


4. Choose a location where the virtual machine files will be stored such as

c:\virtualmachine. You can also accept the default location. Click Next when done.

5. Select Generation 2 for the machine and click Next.

6. Select 2048 MB for the Startup Memory value. Click the Next button.
7. On the Configure Networking wizard, select the switch that you have created in LAB

1 and Click Next.


8. Give the virtual hard drive a name, select a location or keep the default, and finally

specify a size. Click Next when ready.


9. On the Installation Options wizard, select Install an operating system from a

bootable image file and then select an operating system .iso file. Click Next once

completed.
10. Review the virtual machine details then click Finish to complete the virtual machine

creation.
TASK 2: To Install Windows 10 OS using Virtual Machine.

Requirements-You will need an .iso file [Windows 10] for the operating system that you would like
to run.

1. Open Hyper-V Manager by either pressing the Window's key and typing "Hyper-V

Manager" or by finding Hyper-V Manager in your applications.

2. In Hyper-V Manager, double-click on your virtual machine or click on Connect. This

launches the VMConnect tool.


3. In VMConnect, click on the green Start button. This is like pressing the power button on a

physical computer.

4. You may be prompted to ‘Press any key to boot from CD or DVD’. Go ahead and do so.
5. The virtual machine boots into setup and you can walk through the installation like you

would on a physical computer. [Choose Custom: Install windows only(advanced) when

asked about the type of installation]


6. SELECT Custom: Install windows only(advanced) when asked about the type of

installation]
Give the Username as Client and Password as 1234
