QUESTION 5
5.1 Name ​TWO (2)​ environmental health issues that contribute towards the
destruction of their natural habitat.
Global warming; Overpopulation/deforestation. (2 marks)

5.2 Discuss (in detail) how these ​TWO (2)​ environmental health issues also have
an impact on people.

Learners will need to make two points and explaine both (2X2=4)
Global Warming: Destruction of crops; desertification; loss of arable land; climate
change; increase in natural disasters etc. (2 marks)
Over Population: Competition for land and conflict over limited resources; Can lead to the
rapid spread of communicable diseases; lack of poor infrastructure can lead to a number
of social issues; increase in pollution etc. (2 marks)

5.3 Suggest ​FOUR (4)​ practical things that can be done to prevent these animals
from becoming extinct.
Adhere to laws that protect these animals from becoming extinct
The use of sanctuaries to ensure the species is preserved
Harsh consequences to prevent the unlawful destruction of their habitat or poaching
