The Marshmellow Beanie

ONE SIZE.

FINISHED GARMENT MEASUREMENTS:

Head circumference flat: 46 cm
Head circumference stretched out: 58 cm
Length from folded rib to top: 22 cm

GAUGE:
8 sts x 12 rnds = 10 x 10 cm / 4 x 4” stockinette stitch on 12 mm (US17) needles.

NEEDLES:
8 mm (US11) circular needles 60 cm / 24” and 12 mm (US 17) circular needles 60 cm / 24”.

NOTIONS:
Tapestry needle, one thread approx 40 cm of thinner yarn in similar color as main color.

YARN:
1 ball (200g=80m) of Crazy Sexy Wool by Wool and the Gang in colour Pink Lemonade or 1
ball (200g = 80m) of The Wool by We Are Knitters in colour Natural.

WORK THE BEANIE THIS WAY:

Cast on 38 sts with the 12 mm needle using a long-tail cast on for a *k1, p1* ribbing (where you
alternate casting on sts knit-wise and purl-wise).

Join to work in round and switch to the 8 mm needle. Work 20 rnds of *k1, p1*- ribbing (approx
16 cm / 6,5”).

Switch to the 12 mm needle and work stockinette stitch (knit every round) for 20 rnds.

FINISHING:

Leave the sts on the circular knitting needle and thread a thinner piece of yarn through all of the
sts with the tapestry needle. Pull out the knitting needles and tighten both ends of the thinner to
scrunch the top of the beanie together. Tie the thinner piece of yarns in a knot, and weave in all
ends on the inside.

Fold the rib hem double, and if you want you can use the tail from the beginning to attach the rib
edge with a few stitches to make sure it stays in place.

Enjoy your new beanie and make one for your best friend too! :)
