1. Description
AMNC 3i is a software application for running program and schedules you created on
a machine.
This operator's manual pertains to all laser cuttiing machines.

2. Features
User-friendly design and large display
 You can perform on-site tasks with simple operation, improving the productivity.
 After studying the operations in current and older AMNC software, frequently-used
functions and buttons are placed in accessible locations.
 With a large screen, characters and buttons on the display are larger and easier to
see.
 The user authentication allows you to customize the display language settings and
displays and restrict software functions.

Checking of process status with online trace


 You can see the progress of the processing at a glance with the real-time display
of the processing position.
 If a processing stops in the middle, you can restart the process from that position.

Integration with terminals of peripheral equipment


 You can operate peripheral equipment from AMNC 3i.
 Stronger integration between machines and peripheral equipment allows
comprehensive management and operation.

Network operation and maintenance


 Programs created in AP100 and Dr.ABE can be downloaded through the network.
 Operation support software (vFactory, etc.) is supported.

3. Operation
AMNC 3i starts up and shuts down in conjunction with machines. Turn the power on
or off using the [POWER ON/OFF] button on the NC control panel.
The operation on AMNC 3i is performed by touching the screen. Use the keyboard to
enter characters and numbers. Two-point touch operation is supported, and you can
operate just like you would on a smartphone or tablet. (Use of mouse is supported.)

NOTE
 If you touch to operate wearing gloves, AMNC 3i does not react correctly.
Operating with bare hands is recommended.

Touch a certain position on the screen with

Right-click (touch and hold)


Procedure
When you touch and hold a certain position
on the screen with your finger, an animation
appears around your finger. Release when a
circle appears on the screen.
Use cases
 Displaying the Edit List window.
 Displaying a shortcut menu (pop-up
window).

Drag-and-drop
Procedure
Touch a certain position on the screen and
drag your finger. Release when you reach
the destination.
Use cases
 Moving a part in program edit [PARTS
LAYOUT].
 Changing the schedule list.

Scroll
Procedure
Drag your finger on the screen to display the
section of the list currently not displayed.
Drag up/down to scroll the screen in vertical
direction and drag left/right to scroll the
screen in horizontal direction.
You do not need to touch the scroll bar.
Use cases
 Scrolling the LOAD display.
 Scrolling the schedule list.

Zoom in/out
Procedure
Touch a certain position on the screen with
two fingers. Spread the fingers with
continuous contact with the screen to zoom
in. Pinch in with your fingers to zoom out.
Use cases
 Adjusting the scale of a processing
diagram.

Procedure
Touch an object on the screen with two
fingers. Rotate with your fingers while
keeping continuous contact with the screen
to rotate the object.

 Changing an angle of a part in program
edit [PARTS LAYOUT].

4. User authentication
Purpose of user authentication
Unique display settings for each user
You can change the display language and date format for each user. The software
also remembers the items and display orders that each user sets.

Clarification of operation privilege for each user


An operation privilege level is set for each user. This level determines which screen
operations are restricted.

Logging of user names to history data


In processing results, the operator's user name is logged for each sheet process.
The operation history logs operations by the user who is logged in, and is used for
keeping track the operations and results of his/her work.

Privilege levels
More functions are restricted as the number of level decreases.
Level Description
Level 1 Able to perform minimum operations including power on/off,
zero-return, manual operation, and automatic operation.
NOTE

 When no one is logged in, AMNC 3i imposes the Level 1 restriction


until a user logs in.

Level 2 Able to load programs, load/edit schedules, and perform setups.


You can read a program, but cannot edit or save it.
You can read processing conditions, but cannot edit them.
Level 3 Able to use all functions related to production, including
creating/editing/saving programs, saving schedules, performing setups,
and editing laser conditions.
You cannot, however, use functions related to maintenance and
management of the machine.
Level 4 Able to use functions related to maintenance and management of the
machine, in addition to all functions related to production, including
creating/editing/saving programs, saving schedule, performing setups,
and editing processing conditions.
You cannot, however, conduct Manufacturer Level maintenance work.
Manufacturer Level used by AMADA for maintenance work.
This privilege level is not available to users.

1. Basic layout of main display
This is the main display of AMNC 3i. Information needed to operate the machine is
put together and shown in each area. The buttons on the display vary depending on
the operating mode, but the display basic layout is the same.

[1] Status Header area
This area shows the current NC status, alarm status, and operation status.
[Notification area] at the right shows the notification icons for the user and name of
the logged-in user.

[2] Switch Display Tab area


This area contains tabs for changing what is displayed in [Information Display area].
The number of tabs increases or decreases depending on the operating mode.

[3] Common Tools Window Open Buttons area


Common tools contain functions that are frequently used. When the Common Tools
window is minimized, only the buttons are placed at the right side of the display.
When the Common Tools window opens, the buttons become tabs.

This is where the main display is shown.

Scheduled end time of the current operation and progress of a schedule are
displayed.
NOTE

If you press the area where the [Scheduled End Time] is displayed during operation,
the display changes to [Scheduled Remaining Time] -> [Elapsed Time] ->
[Scheduled End Time], in this order.

[3] Alarm indicator


This indicator illuminates when there is an alarm or
warning. The number of alarm or warning is also
indicated. Press the button to show a detailed Alarm
window.

3. Program mode
The Program mode is suitable for performing operation of one program just using the
machine. This section explains the layout of the display in the Program mode. For
details, refer to Part 3, Operation, and Parts after it.

3-1. LOAD display


In the Program mode, only one program can be selected on the LOAD display. You
need to use this display to load a program to the EDIT PROGRAM display or
PROCESS MONITOR display.

[1] Media Selection area
This area shows the servers and external servers that AMNC 3i is connected to and
the folders in NC. The programs in the selected folder are also listed in [Information
Display area].

[2] MEDIA SETTINGS button


Press the [MEDIA SETTINGS] button to open the Media Settings window. This
window allows you to set which media to be connected.

[3] FOLDER MANAGER menu


Media folders can be managed in this menu. (e.g., adding and deleting folders.)

[4] List display method button (DRAWING button)
When the [DRAWING] button is set to ON, the programs list is shown with drawings.
When the [DRAWING] button is pressed to OFF, the programs are listed with
program information.

[5] SEARCH button


Press the [SEARCH] button to filter the programs displayed based on the entered
program name or machine name. To clear the filter, press the [CLEAR] button.

[6] Details button


Press the [Details] button to search for programs with detailed conditions.

[7] NC DATA IMP./EXP. menu


There are two functions: [NC Data Save] and [NC Data Remove]. These functions
allow you to copy a program to another media or remove it. (This is not possible with
some media.)

in Part 5.

[8] GO TO EDIT PROGRAM button


Press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button to send the selected program to the
EDIT PROGRAM display.

[9] GO TO PROCESS MON. button


After selecting the program you want to run, press the [GO TO PROCESS MON.]
button. The program is sent to NC.

3-2. EDIT PROGRAM display
There are two modes of the EDIT PROGRAM display in AMNC 3i.
[Draw Mode] allows you to change the laser processing condition or parts layout in
worksheet without looking at the G-code.
In [NC Data Mode] (G-code mode), you can edit the G-code program directly.
The edit modes can be changed based on your objective, by selecting the mode from
[Switch Display] menu at the top-right of the display.

[1] Menu List area


Select an edit drawing function in this area.

[2] Selected Menu Details area


The function selected in the [Menu List area] appears.

[3] APPLY button and CANCEL button


To apply what you edited in each menu to the G-code, press the [APPLY] button. The
[CANCEL] button clears the edited information.

[4] Switch Display menu


This changes the mode between [Draw Mode] and [NC Data Mode].

[5] PROGRAM INFO button
When the [PROGRAM INFO] button is pressed to set to ON, you can edit the
program information of the program you are editing.

[6] SAVE button


The Save window opens when you press the [SAVE] button. You can save the
program you are editing to a medium.

[7] NEW button


Press the [NEW] button to discard the program you are editing and create a new
program.

[8] GO TO PROCESS MON. button


When you finish editing the program, press the [GO TO PROCESS MON.] button.
The program is sent to NC.

[9] DISCARD button


If you press the [DISCARD] button, Edit Program exits. You cannot recover the
edited information. Save the program that you want to use later before pressing the
[DISCARD] button.

[10] Draw Commands area


These commands allow you to zoom in/out the processing diagram and change the
settings of the drawing.

Program-based Auto-scales the size of the drawing based on the
Drawing button processing diagram.
Worksheet-based Auto scales the worksheet size to fit [Draw area].

3-3. PROCESS MONITOR display
The PROCESS MONITOR display shows the processing status in real time. This is
the main display of the Program mode.

[1] Draw area


This area shows the processing diagram. The draw commands are the same as in
the EDIT PROGRAM display. When [Switch Display] -> [DISPLAY NC DATA] is set to
ON, the program is superimposed on to the processing diagram.

[2] Current Values area


Current actual feed rate and coordinate. When the setting under [Switch Display] ->
[CURRENT VALUE] is OFF, the draw area expands as the current values are hidden.

[3] Switch Display menu


This button changes what is shown on the
PROCESS MONITOR display.

[4] PROGRAM INFO button
When the [PROGRAM INFO] button is set to ON, you can check the program
information of the program in the PROCESS MONITOR display.

[5] Operation Settings area


The operation settings buttons that are used frequently in program operations are
shown in this area.
NOTE

 The types of operation settings buttons shown in this area vary depending on the
type of the machine and options used or not.

[6] SAVE button


The Save window appears when you press the [SAVE] button. You can save the
program in the PROCESS MONITOR display to a medium.

[7] OPERATION menu


This allows you to load operation-related functions (Reprocess Sheet, Retry, and
Resume). These are functions to resume the process if it stops in the middle.
NOTE

 The Retry and Resume are optional functions.

[8] GO TO EDIT PROGRAM button


Press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button to send the program loaded into the
PROCESS MONITOR display to the EDIT PROGRAM display.

[9] SETUP CALCULATION button


Press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button to open the Setup window. The current
device status is compared with the laser processing condition and worksheet
information.

4. Schedule mode
The Schedule mode is used for consecutive processing of worksheets and automatic
operation using peripheral equipment. The jobs (programs) are transferred according
to preset schedules. This section explains the layout of the display in the Schedule
mode. Descriptions that are the same as those of the Program mode are omitted. For
details, refer to Part 3, Operation, and Parts after it.

4-1. LOAD display


On the LOAD display in the Schedule mode, you can select jobs to be added to the
schedule all at once. You can also select jobs in different folders and media. Always
use this display to add jobs to the schedule list or temporary list.
In the Schedule mode, the LOAD display cannot load jobs to the EDIT PROGRAM
display. To do so, add the job to the schedule list or temporary list and then edit, or
switch to the Program mode.

[1] PROGRAM button


This button switches what to be loaded. If the [PROGRAM] button is pressed,
programs in the media are shown.

[2] NC DATA IMP./EXP. menu
There are two functions: [NC Data Save] and [NC Data Remove]. These functions
allow you to copy the program to another media or remove it. (This is not possible
with some media.)

[3] GO TO SCHEDULE button


Press the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button to add the selected program to the end of the
schedule list.
NOTE

 The window opened after pressing the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button varies
depending on the device configuration.
 If there is no peripheral equipment or when it is connected to LST (shuttle table) or
AS (pallet changer), the Process Quantity Input window opens.
 If other peripheral equipment is connected, the JOB Settings window opens.
 To add the program to the schedule list without opening the Process Quantity Input
window or JOB Settings window, change the settings by [OPTIONS] tab.

[4] GO TO REGISTRATION button


Press the [GO TO REGISTRATION] button to add the selected program to the end of
the temporary list.
NOTE

 The display shown after pressing the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button varies
depending on the device configuration.
 If there is no peripheral equipment or when it is connected to a shuttle or AS, the
Process Quantity Input window opens.
 If other peripheral equipment is connected, the JOB Settings window opens.
 To add the program to the schedule list without opening the Process Quantity Input
window or JOB Settings window, change the settings by [OPTIONS] tab.

[1] SCHEDULE button
This area switches what to be loaded. If the [SCHEDULE] button is selected,
schedules in the media are shown. Lists cannot be shown with diagrams.

When you press the [SCHEDULE DETAILS] button, details of jobs added to the
selected schedule appear in the list.

[3] NC DATA IMP./EXP. menu


In the Load schedule display you can only use [NC Data Remove].

[4] GO TO SCHEDULE button


Press the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button to add the selected schedule to the end of the
schedule list. The quantity and worksheet information saved in the schedule are
applied.

[5] GO TO REGISTRATION button


Press the [GO TO REGISTRATION] button to add the selected schedule to the end
of the temporary list. The quantity and worksheet information saved in the schedule
are applied.

4-2. EDIT PROGRAM display
In the Schedule mode, a schedule list is shown at the right side of the EDIT
PROGRAM display. You can view the progress of the schedule operation while you
are editing a program.
The edit function can be used in the same way as in the Program mode.

[1] GO TO SCHEDULE button
When you finish editing the program, press the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button. The
program before editing is replaced with the edited program.

[2] DISCARD button


If you press [DISCARD] button, Edit Program exits. You cannot recover the edited
information. Save the program that you want to use later before pressing the
[DISCARD] button.

4-3. SCHEDULE display
The SCHEDULE display allows you to view the progress of schedule operations and
edit schedules. This is the main display of the Schedule mode.

[1] Schedule list


Jobs to be run can be shown and edited in this list. The list has one job per line and
the color and icon change according to the job status.

[2] Temporary list


Jobs added in this list are not run. This is a list to add jobs temporarily and the list can
be edited. The column items are the same as the item in the schedule list.

NOTE

 Jobs can be moved between the schedule list and temporary list. There are three
ways to do this.
 In [EDIT LIST] menu, select [GO TO SCHEDULE] or [GO TO PROGRAM].
 In the temporary list, press the [▲] or [▼] button.
 Drag-and-drop the job to the destination list.

[3] Preview area
A preview is shown in this area when the [PREVIEW MODE] button is set to ON. You
can view the processing diagram of the selected job, worksheet information, and
size.

[4] PREVIEW MODE button


A preview is shown in [Preview area] when the [PREVIEW MODE] button is set to
ON.

[5] SAVE menu


You can save the program or schedule.
Select [SAVE] -> [Program] to save each program in
the selected jobs as separate programs.
Select [SAVE] -> [Schedule] to create and save
schedule data based on the selected jobs.

[6] JOB SETTINGS button


The JOB Settings window opens when you press the [JOB SETTINGS] button.
Select multiple jobs to change their settings all at once.

[7] SKIP button


Press the [SKIP] button to enable or clear the skip setting on the selected job.

[8] SCHEDULE SETTINGS menu


You can make the start and end settings on jobs in
the schedule list.

NOTE

 The end schedule can be specified only when the


machine is connected to peripheral equipment
other than LST or AS.

[9] DELETE button
The DELETE window opens when you press the [DELETE] button. This deletes
selected jobs.

[10] [EDIT LIST] menu


Press this button to load a function to edit the
schedule list and temporary list. Select the
appropriate job firstly.

[11] GO TO EDIT PROGRAM button


Press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button to send the program in the selected job
to the EDIT PROGRAM display. You can press this button only when a single job is
selected.

[12] SETUP CALCULATION button


Press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button to run the setup calculation on the
schedule list. The result appears as an icon in the schedule list. Press the icon to
open the Setup window.

4-4. PROCESS MONITOR display
In the Schedule mode, a schedule list is shown at the left side of the PROCESS
MONITOR display. You can view the progress of the schedule operation while
checking the processing status.

[1] OPERATION menu
This allows you to load operation-related functions.
You can start the Reprocess Sheet function if the process stops in the middle of the
schedule operation. The job is divided, and the operation is restarted with the
worksheet clamped (Work On) on the machine.
NOTE

 The Retry and Resume functions cannot be used in the Schedule mode.

[2] GO TO EDIT PROGRAM button
Press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button to send the program loaded into the
PROCESS MONITOR display to the EDIT PROGRAM display.
NOTE

 If another program is send to the EDIT PROGRAM display from the PROCESS
MONITOR display when you are editing program, what you edited in the program
will be deleted. Take care when sending a program edited for the Reprocess Sheet
function (a program not added to the schedule or temporary list) from the
PROCESS MONITOR display to EDIT PROGRAM display.

5. CNC mode
In addition to the Program mode and Schedule mode, there is the CNC mode.
Operations are performed using programs transferred to CNC.

NOTE

 Programs cannot be loaded, saved, or edited in the CNC mode.


 Programs added to the PROCESS MONITOR display are discarded if you switch
from the CNC mode to another mode.
 When the setting under [PANEL] in Common Tools -> [PERIPHERAL MACHINE]
-> [DNC] is ON, the mode changes to the DNC mode. The DNC mode runs the
operations by loading programs from external devices.

 This Part explains the basic operations in AMNC 3i. Be sure to read this section if
you have never used AMNC 3i.

1. Starting AMNC 3i
This section explains the procedure of starting AMNC 3i when the machine is not
powered on.
1. Check the surrounding area for safety and then turn the circuit breaker switch for
the machine and oscillator to ON.

2. Press the [POWER ON/OFF] button on the NC control panel.

3. A startup animation of AMNC 3i appears. Please wait.

4. The warning window opens the first time you start AMNC 3i each day. Read the
message and press the [OK] button.

The icons in the warning window will vary depending on a region.

5. The main display appears.

If there is an alarm, the alarm window opens.

6. Check the details of the alarm and clear the alarm.

7. When the alarm is cleared, the startup of AMNC 3i is completed.

2. User login
Log in before using the machine. When you log in, a display appears based on the
user profile and you can operate with the level.
NOTE

 If you will not be using the user authentication function, the following login
operation is unnecessary.

1. Check the user name in [Notification


area] at the top-right of the display.

If there is no user name or if another


user's user name is displayed, follow
the procedure below.

2. Press the [ ]. The Switch User window opens.

REFERENCE

 If the [ ] is not displayed, contact the administrator of the machine.

3. Select a user name, enter the password, and then press the [LOG IN] button.
The display language and date/time format will change.

[1] LOG OUT button
Pressing the [LOG OUT] button clears the current user authentication. The
authentication level of AMNC 3i is set to the lowest level (level 1) when no user is
logged in.

[2] CHANGE SETTINGS button


Press the [CHANGE SETTINGS] button to edit the settings of the currently logged in
user.

[3] CHANGE PASSWORD button


Press the [CHANGE PASSWORD] button to change the password of the currently
logged in user.

[4] User Names List area


This is the list of users who can use the system. Select a user name from this list
when logging in.

3. Zero-returning
Use the RET. window to zero-return.
The machine starts in the RETRACT mode and the RET. window opens automatically.
Be sure to zero-return first.

[1] RET. button
The [RET.] button is shown at the top-left on a display when the machine is in the
RETRACT mode. When the RET. button is set to on, the RET. window is
superimposed on to [Information Display area].
The [RET.] button and RET. window are hidden when the mode is changed to an NC
mode other than RETRACT.

[2] ABSOLUTE POSITION button and MACHINE POSITION button


Select the coordinate system to be used in the display.

[3] Coordinate notes


Notes regarding the axis direction of the machine.

[4] ALL AXES button and EACHAXIS button


This sets which axis (axes) to zero-return.
When [ALL AXES] button is set to ON, all axes are zero-returned.
If the zero-returning of all axes is already completed, a check mark is placed on the
[ALL AXES] button.
When [EACHAXIS] button is set to ON, only the selected axis is zero-returned.

[5] Axis Select buttons


This shows the names of axes in the machine and their coordinates. Press these
items one by one to set them to ON.
For a button of each axis, a check mark is placed if its current coordinate matches
the origin coordinate.

[6] PERIPHERAL MACHINE button


You can select whether or not to zero-return peripheral equipment.
A check mark is placed if zero-returning of peripheral equipment is completed.
NOTE

 This [PERIPHERAL MACHINE] button appears only when the machine is


connected to peripheral equipment other than LST.

[7] Action Select area
This area shows operation settings buttons that are frequently used when performing
zero-returns.
NOTE

 The types of operation settings buttons shown in this area vary depending on the
type of the machine and options used or not.

Zero-returning all axes


1. Clear any alarm occurring in the
machine and peripheral equipment.

2. Press [RETRACT] button on the NC


control panel to switch the NC mode to
RETRACT. The [START] button on the
NC control panel starts flashing.

3. Set the [ALL AXES] button to ON.

When zero-returning the peripheral equipment at the same time, set the
[PERIPHERAL MACHINE] button to ON.

4. Check the surrounding area for safety. (The machine and peripheral equipment
move when zero-return is performed.)

5. To start the zero-return of axes, press


the [START] button on the NC control
panel.

6. When the zero-return is completed,


check marks are placed on the [ALL
AXES] button, [Axis Select] buttons and
[PERIPHERAL MACHINE] button.

Zero-returning each axis


1. Clear any alarm occurring in the machine and peripheral equipment.

2. Press [RETRACT] button on the NC control panel to switch the NC mode to


RETRACT.

3. Set the [EACHAXIS] button to ON.

4. Set the [Axis Select] button to ON for axis which you want to be zero-returned.

To zero-return peripheral equipment only, press again the [Axis Select] button to
set it to OFF and select only the [PERIPHERAL MACHINE] button.

5. Check the surrounding area for safety. The machine and peripheral equipment
move when zero-return is performed.

6. To start the zero-return of axes, press the [START] button on the NC control
panel.

7. When the zero-return is completed, a check mark is placed on the [Axis Select]
button and [PERIPHERAL MACHINE] button.

4. Manual operation
When moving the axis to the processing start position or safely retracting the head or
worksheet, you can move the axis manually. User the MAN. window for the manual
operation.
NOTE

 Each axis can be moved with the handwheel control box, but this is not shown on
the MAN. window.

or [-] button on the NC control panel.
Make sure that it does not collide with
worksheet or result in overtravel.

5. Running program operations
This section explains the procedure of selecting a program and running a program
operation.

5-1. Selecting operating mode


1. Start AMNC 3i, zero-return the axes, and clear any alarm events.

2. Press [MEMORY] button on the NC


control panel to switch the NC mode to
MEMORY.

3. Select [Switching] -> [Program] to


switch the operating mode to Program.

NOTE

 The operating mode cannot be


changed when an automatic
operation is running.

5-2. Preparing Programs


1. Touch the [LOAD] tab to open the LOAD display.

2. In [Media Selection area], select the folder


where the target program is saved.

3. Select the program.

4. To start the processing right away, press the [GO


TO PROCESS MON.] button. Proceed to the
steps in "5-3. Starting program operations" in
this Part.

To edit the program, press the [GO TO EDIT


PROGRAM] button.

5. Press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button to show the EDIT PROGRAM
display.

Review the processing diagram and program information, and edit the
information as necessary.

6. When you finish editing, press the [GO TO PROCESS MON.] button.

NOTE

 When the program is transferred to the PROCESS MONITOR display, the


Setup window may open in some cases. Check the current device status of
the nozzles and lens and the worksheet being used, press the [COMPLETE
SETUP] button, and then press the [CLOSE] button.

5-3. Starting program operations


1. Check the area surrounding the machine for safety.

2. Check that items in [Operation Settings area] and [PANEL] in Common Tools are
set correctly.

3. Check setting of the controls on the NC control panel and the displayed value of
the [Override] button on the [Device indicator].

4. Check the current position of the laser head.

(1) If the Program starts from the zero-return position, make sure the
zero-return is completed.

(2) If the Program starts from another position, move the laser head. To do so,
you can use [Positioning (Rapid Traverse):G00] in utilities, switch the NC
mode to MANUAL, or use the handwheel control box.

5. When ready, start the operation. Press the [START] button on the NC control
panel.

6. The color of the [Integrated indicator bar] changes during operation. Wait until
the operation is completed.

6. Running schedule operations
This section explains the procedure of setting up a schedule from multiple programs
and running a schedule operation. The display layout varies depending on the
configuration of peripheral equipment, but the basic procedure is the same.

6-1. Selecting operating mode


1. Start AMNC 3i, zero-return the axes, and clear any alarm events.

2. Press [MEMORY] button on the NC


control panel to switch the NC mode to
MEMORY.

3. Select [Switching] -> [Schedule] to


switch the operating mode to Schedule.

NOTE

 The operating mode cannot be


changed when an automatic
operation is running.

4. To run a schedule operation that uses


peripheral equipment, follow
procedures bellow. Set [Line Control] to
ON in [Operation Settings area], or set
the setting under [PANEL] in Common
Tools -> [PERIPHERAL MACHINE] ->
[Line Control] to ON.

6-2. Preparing schedules


1. Touch the [LOAD] tab to open the LOAD display.

2. In [Media Selection area], select the folder


where the target program is saved.

3. Select the program (job). You can add up to 999 jobs to a schedule.

4. Select where to add the selected program to.

In this procedure, press the [GO TO


SCHEDULE] button to add the program to the
schedule list.

To add the program to the temporary list, press


the [GO TO REGISTRATION] button.

5. The Process Quantity Input window opens for each job added. The amount of
information displayed increases or decreases depending on the configuration of
peripheral equipment.

Enter the numbers at [Schedule] and [Normal Exit] of The Process Quantity
Input window and then press the [OK] button.

REFERENCE

 All jobs can be added to the list by default without performing checks. For
details, refer to "2. Adding jobs" in Part 7.

6. When you finish adding jobs to the schedule list, the SCHEDULE display
appears.

7. To run the setup calculation, press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button. Icons
are placed on jobs that require setups.

8. The schedule can be edited. When doing so, consider the result of the setup
calculation.

(1) To fix the program, select a job and press the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM]
button.

(2) To change the order in the schedule, use the [EDIT LIST] menu.

6-3. Starting schedule operations


1. Check the area surrounding the machine for safety.

2. Check that items in [Operation Settings area] and [PANEL] in Common Tools are
set correctly.

3. Check setting of the controls on the NC control panel and the displayed value of
the [Override] button on the [Device indicator].

4. Check the current position of the laser head.

(1) If the program starts from the zero-return position, make sure the
zero-return is completed.

(2) If the program starts from another position, move the laser head. To do so,
you can use [Positioning (Rapid Traverse):G00] in utilities, switch the NC
mode to MANUAL, or use the handwheel control box.

5. When ready, start the operation. Press the [START] button on the NC control
panel.

6 If necessary, the Program of the job for which the processing has not been
started yet can be edited. Open the SCHEDULE display.

(1) The job that is running or reserved (next job) cannot be edited.

(2) Select a job that is not reserved and be sure to finish editing before the job
is reserved.

7. Exiting AMNC 3i
The machine's power should be turned off while the AMNC 3i is still running.
1. Check that the machine and peripheral equipment are in the standby state.

(1) Check that there is no movement in the machine and peripheral equipment.

(2) To check the current status, look at [Device indicator] in [Status Header
area].

2. Check the surrounding area for safety.

3. When you press the [POWER ON/OFF] button on the NC control panel, a
buzzer sounds several times. You can cancel the OFF process by pressing the
[POWER ON/OFF] button again while the buzzer is still sounding.

4. The AMNC 3i blank shuts down automatically. Please wait.

5. After several minutes, the circuit breaker switch of the machine is tripped
automatically.

CNC mode to another mode.

1. Preparing to load programs
The processing is started by first loading a program. When you have determined
which operating mode to use, touch the [LOAD] tab to open the LOAD display.

2. Selecting media
Programs are saved not just in NC, but also in servers, external media, and folders of
servers and external media. To receive programs from these locations, you need to
set the media settings.
Press the [MEDIA SETTINGS] button to show the Media Settings window.

Select the media to be shown in [Media Selection area].

[2] Access Point column


If the type of media is server, enter the IP address or computer name of the server. If
the type is external media, specify the path.
You can also press the [REFERENCE] button to select the computer name from a
list.

[3] Confirm column


Press the [CONNECT] button to test the connection. The result appears as an icon.
Depending on the environment, it may take several seconds to tens of seconds
before the result is shown. The connection test succeeded if "OK" is displayed. If the
result is "NG", check the access point and the network connection, and then test the
connection again.

[4] Search Subfolders


If the [DISABLE] is displayed, only the programs in the selected folder are shown. If
the [ENABLE] is displayed, the programs in the subfolders of the selected folder are
also shown.

3. Managing programs
In the [NC DATA IMP./EXP.] menu, you can copy and
delete programs.
When selecting multiple programs, select [NC DATA
IMP./EXP.] -> [MULTIPLE SELECTION] to place a
check mark on it.
NOTE

 When you select multiple programs, you cannot


load these programs onto the EDIT PROGRAM
display or PROCESS MONITOR display.

3-1. Saving NC data


NC Data Save is a function to copy a program in the
NC or server to another folder.
When a program is selected, you can press [NC
DATA IMP./EXP.] -> [NC Data Save]. When [NC Data
Save] is pressed, the Save window opens.

[1] REMOVED FROM LIST button
Place check marks for programs in the list and then press the [REMOVED FROM
LIST] button to indicate not to save the selected programs.

[2] COPY button


This button is for copying and saving programs in the list. Select the save destination
folder and then press the [COPY] button. If there is another program with the same
name in the save destination, the existing program is overwritten.

[3] MOVE button


This button is for moving programs in the list. Select the save destination folder and
then press the [MOVE] button. The program is removed from the source folder.

3-2. Removing NC data


NC Data Remove is a function to remove a program
in Program in servers cannot be removed.
When a program is selected, you can press [NC
DATA IMP./EXP.] -> [NC Data Remove]. When [NC
Data Remove] is pressed, the Confirm Delete
window opens.
In the Schedule mode, schedules in NC can be
removed in the same manner.

You cannot restore programs once they are removed.


When the Confirm Delete window opens, check the list and then press the [OK]
button.

3-3. Managing folders
Functions available in [FOLDER MANAGER] menu vary depending on the type of
media selected. You cannot add or deleted folders in the case of servers or external
media (SDD format).
And the pop-up menu appears when you press directly and hold the folder icon in the
list. This menu provides the same functions.

Add to [Frequently-Used Folders]


Folders can be added to [Frequently-Used
Folders] at the top of [Media Selection area].
You can use this function regardless of the
media type.
[Frequently-Used Folders] are managed
separately for each user.
Select a folder and press [Add to
frequently-Used Folders.]

To remove a folder from [Frequently-Used


Folders], press [Remove from
Frequently-Used Folders].

Delete Folder
This deletes selected folders. The programs inside these folders are also deleted.

Add Folder
This adds a new folder. You can add a folder
in external media other than NC and SDD
format media.
You can not add a sub folder.

4. Searching for programs
When you search for a program, the search is run on the selected folder. After the
search, only the programs that match the search condition appear.
You can display up to 99 programs in the search result. If there are more programs in
the search result, only the first 99 programs are displayed. Narrow down the
programs to be displayed by adding search conditions.

4-1. Simple search


In simple search, you can just set the program name and machine name for the
search condition. Enter the conditions at the top of the LOAD display and then press
the [SEARCH] button.

NOTE

 Asterisks (*) can be used as wild card in the search.


 Press the [CLEAR] button to clear the search condition. If you press the [SEARCH]
button again, all programs in the folder appear.

4-2. Advanced search


To narrow down the searching of programs with more detailed conditions, use
advanced search. Press [Details] button at the left side of the [SEARCH] button to
open the Search window.
The number of search conditions you can set increases or decreases depending on
the type of media.

5. Loading programs into PROCESS MONITOR display
When you have selected a program for a
program operation, press the [GO TO
PROCESS MON.] button to load the
program into the PROCESS MONITOR
display.
And pressing the [GO TO EDIT PROGRAM] button loads the program into the EDIT
PROGRAM display.
If the condition to load the program is not right, the Message Center window opens.
Follow the instructions in the message.

NOTE

 When you load a program into the PROCESS MONITOR display, the program is
also transferred to NC.
 If a laser condition specified by M102 instruction exists in the program, the laser
condition is also changed.
 If the NC mode is set to other than MEMORY, the program cannot be loaded into
the PROCESS MONITOR display.
 When an automatic operation is running, the program cannot be loaded into the
PROCESS MONITOR display.
 If another program with the same name is already loaded into the PROCESS
MONITOR display or EDIT PROGRAM display, the Message Center window. The
content of the programs may vary between those saved in a media and those that
are loaded into a display.

NOTE
●This part assumes that a program is already loaded into the PROCESS MONITOR
display. An explanation is provided on how to start a process with the loaded
program.

1. To show PROCESS MONITOR display


The PROCESS MONITOR display is the main display of the Program mode.
If a program is loaded into the PROCESS MONITOR display, its name is shown and
the part to be processed is drawn on the display.

2. Checking setup
When a program is loaded into the process monitor, the Setup window may appear in
some cases. In this case, setup must be performed before starting the process.
The result of setup calculation is shown in different tabs for each type. The icon of the
setup that requires further work turns red. When the work for each tab is completed,
press the [COMPLETE SETUP] button to set it to ON at the bottom-right of the
window.
If there is an error during setup calculation, the [SETUP ERROR] tab is enabled.
Touch the tab and follow the instructions in the error information and remedy
displayed.
When all setups are completed, press the [CLOSE] button. If you press the [CLOSE]
button without completing the setup, you can open the PROCESS MONITOR display
with the setups not yet completed. However, there may be an alarm when you start
the operation.

REFERENCE

 The settings of the Check Setup function can be changed in [SETUP CONFIG.] in
OPTIONS. For details, refer to "1-2. SETUP CONFIG. view" in Part 15.
 To recalculate the setup for the program loaded into the PROCESS MONITOR
display, press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button.

3. Laser setup
If there is a laser setup, the [LASER] tab is enabled.

This is the current device status for nozzles and lens.

The device needs to be changed to the status shown in this section. Those varying
from the status in [Current Laser] are shown in red characters.

[3] Adjustment Items area


When the installation status is changed, adjust the items shown in this section. When
the adjustment is completed, place a check mark . When you finish to place check
marks for all adjustments, the setup is completed.

[4] Utility buttons


You can load utilities needed to perform the adjustments. These utilities can be
executed with the Setup window still opened.

[5] COMPLETE SETUP button
The [COMPLETE SETUP] button is enabled when you finish all adjustments. To
finish the laser setup, press the [COMPLETE SETUP] button.

Press the [CLOSE] button to close the Setup window. To view the Setup window
again, press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button in the PROCESS MONITOR
display.

4. Worksheet setup
If there is a worksheet setup, the [MATERIAL] tab is enabled.
Set the worksheet shown in the [Setup Material] onto the machine. When this is done,
press the [COMPLETE SETUP] button.

5. Running program operations
Check the surrounding area for safety and then press
the [START] button on the NC control panel to start
the automatic operation.
With some programs, the automatic operation starts
after the head position is moved.
Check where a red cross symbol is displayed in the
processing diagram. This is the reference position
specified by the program.
The value of the reference position is shown in the
scale display in the processing diagram.
Use one of three methods below to move the head.
 Use [Positioning (Rapid Traverse): G00] in utilities.
 Press the axis feed buttons in the MANUAL mode.
 Use the handwheel control box.

5-1. If machine stops during automatic operation


The machine may stop for some reason during automatic operation. First check the
surrounding area for safety. The reason for stoppage is shown in the Alarm window.
Follow the instructions displayed.

 For more information on the Alarm window, refer to "1-1. Alarm window" in
Appexdix.

6. Reprocessing sheets
Reprocess Sheet is a function to create a program that starts a process from the
middle, based on the program that stopped during automatic operation.

Reprocess Sheet operation (Program mode)


1. If the machine stops, clear any alarm occurring
in the machine and peripheral equipment.
Remove any thing that may hinder the process.

2. Select [OPERATION] -> [Reprocess Sheet].

3. The Reprocess Sheet window opens.

The section where the processing was interrupted is indicated with a bold line,
and the corresponding line in the program is selected.

4. Select a line segment in the figure to specify that position as the resume
position.

5. You can also use buttons to specify the resume position.

6. When the resume position is determined, press the [GENERATE NC DATA]
button.

7. If you are satisfied with the program created, press the [REGISTER] button. The
program is sent to NC.

NOTE

 If you want to correct the resume position, press the [RETURN TO CREATE]
button.
8. If you start the processing immediately, press the [START] button on the NC
control panel.

If you do not want to start the processing immediately, you can save the
program to a media. The Save window opens when you press the [SAVE]
button.

9. When the operation of the program created in Reprocess Sheet is finished, the
display returns to the original program.

7. Retry
The Retry is a function of specifying the resume position feeding or returning from the
middle or start position of the program on a part basis (pierce point) and on a block
basis (single block).
NOTICE

 Before using the Retry function, the Z-axis must be raised to prevent the head from
striking an obstacle during its travel.
NOTE

 The following functions and commands do not operate properly:


(1) HS Edge Detection function (G121 and G122)
(2) OVS function (G140, G141, and G149)
(3) Measuring Probe function (G120)
(4) Repositioning (G25 and G27)
 When you reset alarm and then use the Retry function from the beginning of the
program, be sure to return each axis to the start position. Otherwise the axes do
not operate properly.
 Retry function is an optional function. If the option is not enabled, the [Retry] button
is not shown on the display.

Retry operation
1. If the machine stops, clear any alarm occurring
in the machine and peripheral equipment.
Remove any thing that may hinder the process.

2. Turn the SHUTTER keyswitch on the NC control


panel to OFF.

3. Move the head to the start position.

4. Select [OPERATION] -> [Retry].

The Retry window opens.

5. To move an axis, set one of the buttons below to ON and then press the
[START] button on the NC control panel. Move the axes to the resume position
of the process.

Prev Part button Set this button to ON and press the [START] button on
the NC control panel to move the axis to the start position
of the previous process path (pierce position).
In the case of multiple-part processing program, the axis
is moved to the previous part reference point.
Next Part button Set this button to ON and press the [START] button on

of the next process path (pierce position).
In the case of multiple-part processing program, the axis
is moved to the next part reference point.
Prev Block button Set this button to ON and press the [START] button on

6. Press the [CLOSE] button to close the Retry window.

7. Turn the [SHUTTER] keyswitch on the NC control panel to ON.

8. To resume the process, press the [START] button on the NC control panel.

8. Resume
If the process stops when the [STOP] button is pressed or for other reasons, the
Resume function returns the axes swiftly to the stopped position, even after the axes
were moved from the stopped position.
NOTE

 The Resume function should be used in the Program mode. It does not function
properly in the Schedule mode.
 Never perform the following operations before using the Resume function.
Otherwise the machine may not operate properly.
(1) Load another program to operate the machine
(2) Edit the resume program
(3) Change the laser processing conditions
(4) Change the ON/OFF setting under [PANEL] in Common Tools -> [LASER] ->
[Tracing Sensor]
 The following functions and commands do not operate properly:
(1) HS Edge Detection function (G121 and G122)
(2) OVS function (G140, G141, and G149)
(3) Measuring Probe function (G120)
(4) Repositioning (G25 and G27)
 The Resume is an optional function. If the option is not enabled, the [Resume]
button is not shown on the display.

Resume operation
1. Reset the NC and clear the automatic operation
status.

2. If the machine stops, clear any alarm occurring


in the machine and peripheral equipment.
Remove any thing that may hinder the process.
You may move the axis or zero-return.

3. Select [OPERATION] -> [Resume].

The Resume window opens.

5. To move the axes, set the [Resume] button in the window to ON, and then press
the [START] button on the NC control panel.

6. When the axes are moved to the stopped positions, the Resume window closes.

7. To resume the process, press the [START] button on the NC control panel again.

NOTE

 Depending on the resume position, the machine may be unable to resume its
operation properly due to a processing defect, for example. In such a case, use the
Retry function to adjust the processing resume position.
 The Resume function cannot be used if an automatic operation is under way. The
NC needs to be reset.

1. Schedule list and temporary list
There are two types of list for managing jobs on the SCHEDULE display.

Schedule list
This list contains schedules that start when the [START] button on the NC control
panel is pressed in the Schedule mode.
This list is also used as the target of schedule setup.
The list with the same content is displayed also on the EDIT PROGRAM display and
PROCESS MONITOR display.

Temporary list
The temporary list is used to save jobs that should be excluded from the schedule
operation.
Jobs can be moved between the schedule list and temporary list.
Jobs in the temporary list are not included in the setup calculation.
You can use a drag-and-drop operation or press a button to display or hide these
jobs.

Both lists support the preview mode display.

Icons in the program name column


An icon may appear at the left side of the program name. We recommend checking
the information of the program with the icon before starting the operation.
Icon Description
The laser processing conditions set in the program are not registered in
the machine. An alarm will occur for this job when the operation starts.
G92 (origin setting) value in the program does not match the machine
origin.

2. Adding jobs
To add a job to the schedule list and temporary list, you can either load a schedule or
select a program.

Loading schedule
1. Change the mode of the LOAD display to the
Schedule mode.

2. Select schedule data in a media and then press


the [GO TO SCHEDULE] or [GO TO
REGISTRATION] button.

3. Press the [SCHEDULE DETAILS] button to open the settings window. And you
can view the information of jobs registered.

Displayed items shown in the settings window vary depending on the equipment
configuration.

Process Quantity Input window (for machine with LST or AS or without


peripheral equipment)
You need to enter the settings for each job added to the schedule, but you can press
the [ALL OK] button if the jobs can be added with the same values set in the
schedule data.
To change the settings later, call the JOB Settings window from the SCHEDULE
display.
NOTE

 The number of setting items displayed increase or decrease depending on the


equipment configuration.

(1) Press the [OK] button to add the job to the list. If you press the [CLOSE]
button, the job is not added, and a window for the next job opens.

(2) When the settings for all jobs are completed, the display changes to the
SCHEDULE display.

JOB Settings window (Storage unit, ASF, MP, etc.)
In addition to the setting items in the Process Quantity Input window, you can also
enter the settings for pallets and other items to be used.
NOTE

 Select the material name from those registered in the material master. The
material type needs to be set on the material name.
 For details of the material master, refer to “1-3. MATERIAL MASTER view” in Part
14.

(1) Press the [REGISTER] button to add the job to the list. If you press the
[CLOSE] button, the job is not added, and a window for the next job opens.

(2) When the settings for all jobs are completed, the display changes to the
SCHEDULE display.

Creating schedule with multiple programs


1. Change the mode of the LOAD display to the
Program mode.

2. Select a program in a media and then press the


[GO TO SCHEDULE] or [GO TO
REGISTRATION] button. Multiple jobs can be
selected from different media all at once.

3. If you touch [Selected Data] in the Media Selection area, the Process Quantity
Input window for each job opens. Enter the job settings on this window. (not the
program information)
You need to enter the settings for each program selected, but you can press the
[ALL OK] button if the programs can be added with the default values.
To change the settings later, call the JOB Settings window from the SCHEDULE
display.

4. Press the [OK] button to add the program to the list as a job. If you press the
[CLOSE] button, the job is not added, and a window for the next program opens.

5. When the settings for all programs are completed, the display changes to the
SCHEDULE display.

3. Utilizing temporary list


The temporary list can be used as the temporary saving area.
For example, you can load a schedule for night-time operation into the temporary list,
and change the quantity in the job or make correction to the program in the
temporary list during daytime, while the machine is operating.
At night, you can move the job in the temporary list to the schedule list. The look of
the list can be simplified by removing daytime jobs. Once you save schedules, you
can restore them later.

4. Editing schedule list


Selecting column items to be displayed in list
The same column items are displayed in the
schedule list and temporary list. Whether or not to
display these items is set on the Edit List window.
Press and hold the header part of the schedule list to
open the Edit List window.
Place a check mark on the list item that you want to
display, and then press the [CLOSE] button.

Moving/coping jobs
There is a function to move or copy a job in the [EDIT
LIST] menu. Select a job and then press the
respective button. Multiple jobs can be moved or
copied at the same time.
The [▲] and [▼] buttons in the temporary list have
the same functions as [Go Schedule] and [Go to
Registration].
You can also move a job directly by dragging it to the
destination. However you can only move one job at a
time.

Changing quantities
Only the columns shown below can be edited directly in the schedule list and
temporary list. Other changes in the settings are done on the JOB Settings window.
Column name Description
Process Scheduled number of sheets to be processed.
Quantity When the scheduled number of processing is completed, the
status changes to Normal Exit.
The counting method of process quantity can be found in
OPTIONS - Schedule Settings - [Line Control Settings] tab.
Normal Exit Number of sheets with the Normal Exit status.
Abnormal End Number of sheets that ended in the middle of the process.

Skip setting
Use the skip setting to exclude a job from the operation without removing it from the
list. Select a job and then press the [SKIP] button to add a skip setting to that job. The
skip icon (>>) appears and the color of the job changes to white in the schedule list.
To clear the skip setting, go through the same procedure again.

Start job and end job
Normally, the schedule is run in sequence from No.
001. By setting the start job and end job, you can run
just a part of the list. You can also set just the start
job or end job.
Select a job and then select [SCHEDULE
SETTINGS] -> [Specify Start] or [End Specified].
Once set, an icon (S: start or E: end) is placed on that
job.
NOTE

 The [End Plan Specified] button appears only when the machine is connected to
peripheral equipment other than LST or AS.

Specifying end plan


In the case of schedule operation using peripheral equipment other than LST or AS,
you can set the end condition of the schedule. The [End Plan Specified] button can
be pressed only during operation.
When you press the [End Plan Specified] button, the End Reservation JOB window
opens.

Item Description
TAKE ONESHEET END The operation ends when the processing reaches the
sheet picked up with the single pickup unit.
SPECIFIED TIMEEND The job reservation and processing are performed until
the time specified and then the operation ends.
UNSET Press the [UNSET] button to clear the setting for
specifying end plan.
END SETTINGS Press the [END SETTINGS] button to set the setting for
specifying end plan.
CLOSE Press the [CLOSE] button to close the window.

Deleting jobs
Jobs can be deleted from the lists by selecting the jobs that are no longer necessary,
and then pressing the [DELETE] button.

In the figure above, skip is set on the first job.


The second job is the start job and the operation starts from this job.
The third job is not run as this has end normally. This job is selected, meaning you
can move, copy, or delete this item.
The fourth job is the end job. The following jobs are not run.

Saving programs and schedules


When you select a job, [Program] or [Schedule] is enabled in the [SAVE] menu.

Saving programs
The program of the selected job is
saved to a media.

Saving schedules
The selected job is saved as single
schedule data. The settings in the
job (quantity, storage unit
information, etc.) are included in

5. Editing on JOB Settings window
The JOB Settings window opens when you select a job and then press the [JOB
SETTINGS] button. On the JOB Settings window, you can change the settings of
multiple jobs all at once.

 The layout of the JOB Settings window varies depending on the equipment
configuration of the machine. The following section provides the description of
common areas independent of the equipment configuration.

6. Checking setup
Failure to appropriately handle the setup in the schedule operation may cause
alarms and operation stops. We recommend performing the setup calculation before
starting the operation.
The Setup column appears in this list when the setup
settings in OPTIONS - [SETUP CONFIG.] are
enabled. If you see a white icon in this column, you
need to perform the setup calculation.

Press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button to run the setup calculation on the
schedule list. The calculation result appears as an icon in the Setup column. If you
select this icon, the Setup window opens.

NOTE

 The description in this Part assumes that jobs are already added to the schedule
list. An explanation is provided on the starting procedure of the schedule operation,
operation setup, and reprocessing of sheets.

1. Display of PROCESS MONITOR display


The names of the programs currently running and those that have ended are shown
on the PROCESS MONITOR display and a part is drawn on the display. These are
not programs that will run afterward.
The schedule list is shown at the left side of the display. You can view the progress of
the schedule operation.

When a schedule operation is running, its progress is shown in [Operation Navigation
area] at the top of the display.

2. Running schedule operations
1. Select [Switching] -> [Schedule] to show the SCHEDULE display.

2. Check the programs in the job that are added to the schedule. Special attention
is needed if an icon appears at the left side of the program name.

3. If you press the [SETUP CALCULATION] button, the setup icon appears in the
Setup column.

(1) Be sure to complete the setup of the start job before the operation starts.

(2) If you select the setup icon, the Setup window opens.

NOTE

 The first job that runs in the schedule is called the start job.
 Conditions of the start job are:
(1) Its status must be either “Not Started”, “Abort”, or “Abnormal End”.
(2) Skip is not set.
(3) It comes after the job currently shown.

4. Check the ON/OFF setting under [PANEL] in Common Tools -> [PERIPHERAL
MACHINE] -> [Line Control].

5. Check the surrounding area for safety and then press the [START] button on the
NC control panel to start the schedule operation.

NOTE

 The schedule list can be edited (e.g., quantity) after starting the operation.
However, the job that is running or reserved cannot be edited.

6. If a setup is needed during operation, the operation stops. Follow the


instructions on the Setup window.

7. If the operation stops for an alarm or other reasons, you can create a program
for resuming the operation with the reprocess sheet function.

3. Editing program during schedule operation
The color of jobs in the schedule list changes according to the progress during
schedule operation.

To edit a program in the job added to the schedule or


temporary list, select the job and press the [GO TO
EDIT PROGRAM] button. The pencil icon is placed
on the job that is being edited.
Current and reserved jobs and programs that have
the same names as these jobs cannot be edited.

4. Setup during schedule operation
The setup stop alarm occurs when the operation of the job with the setup icon is
started. Follow the instructions on the Setup window displayed and perform the setup.
The processing cannot be run normally if the setup is not completed.

Setup skip
Setup skip is a function that cancels the operation of the job, if setup is needed in the
job that you are attempting to run. If you could not prepare the worksheet or nozzle
needed in the job, you can add a skip setting to that job on the Setup window.
NOTE

 Do not press the [COMPLETE SETUP] button when the setup is not or cannot be
completed. When the operation resumes, an alarm may occur.

1. Press the [SKIP] button.

2. Press the [OK] button when the


Message Center window opens.

3. Skip setting is added to that job.

4. Clear the setup stop alarm.

5. The operation can be continued after performing the setup calculation again.

5. Reprocessing sheets
The reprocessing of sheets in the Schedule mode assumes that the process is
resumed in the work on condition.
NOTE

 The reprocessing in the work on condition is possible when the machine is


connected to peripheral equipment other than LST or AS.
 For the machine with LST or AS, you need to switch the operating mode to the
Program mode to reprocess sheets.

1. The status of the current job that was running changes to “Abnormal End” when
the processing is stopped during schedule operation or when you interrupt the
processing to add an interrupt job.

2. While the current job is shown on the PROCESS MONITOR display, select
[OPERATION] -> [Reprocess Sheet].

3. On the Reprocess Sheet display, create a program for reprocessing.

4. Press the [REGISTER] button.

 You cannot press the [REGISTER] button unless the program created in
Reprocess Sheet matches the current job.

The reprocess sheet program with the process quantity set as 1 is added to the
job. The job for processing the remaining process quantity is added following the
reprocess sheet program.

A skip setting is added to the job that led you to create the reprocess sheet
program, and this job is excluded from the operation.

NOTE

 If “Normal Exit” is selected under [SCHEDULE SETTINGS] in OPTIONS ->


[Line Control Settings] -> [Counting method of complete quantity], the process
quantity of the job that led you to create the reprocess sheet program is
reduced by 1. The process quantity is not reduced if “Normal Exit And
Abnormal End” is selected.

6. Insert the interrupt job as required.

7. Prepare to resume the processing.

8. To resume the operation with the worksheet used in the stopped process set
onto the machine, set the setting to ON under [PANEL] in Common Tools ->
[PERIPHERAL MACHINE] -> [Work On].

1. Edit function
1-1. Creating new programs
Programs can be edited on site, before starting the processing.
This section explains the procedure using an example of creating a program that cuts
a round hole with laser.

1. Touch the [EDIT PROGRAM] tab at the top of the display.

2. If another program is already loaded into the EDIT PROGRAM display, press the
[NEW] button. If not, the New window opens.

3. When the New window opens, enter a


program name.

4. Press the [OK] button.

5. First, edit the program in the Draw


mode.
Select [Switch Display] -> [Draw Mode].

6. Edit the worksheet information.

(1) Select [Menu List area] -> [MATERIAL].

(2) Enter the thickness at [Thickness].

(3) At [Size], enter the size of the worksheet to be used.

(4) Based on the worksheet, make the selection at [Laser Conditions].

7. Press the [APPLY] button.

8. Select [Menu List area] -> [BASE POINT].

9. Set the [HOME-POSITION] button to ON. This sets the processing to start from
the machine origin.

1-2. Immediately processing after editing program in
media
This section explains the single part processing in the Program mode.

1. Select [Switching] -> [Program] to switch the operating mode to the Program
mode.

2. From the LOAD display, load a program to EDIT PROGRAM display.

3. If the program you selected on the LOAD display is already added to the
PROCESS MONITOR display or the schedule list or temporary list on the
SCHEDULE display, the Message Center window for confirmation of overwriting
the program.

Selection Description
OK button The program with the same name already loaded in AMNC 3i
will be overwritten. The program in the media will be loaded for
editing.
CANCEL button The program with the same name already loaded in AMNC 3i
will be shown in EDIT PROGRAM display. This program may
be different from the program in the media.

4. The editing operation before processing can be done in the Draw mode. When
the editing is finished, press the [APPLY] button to apply what you edited to the
G-code program. If you press the [CANCEL] button, the edit is not applied.

5. In the drawing of the processing diagram, check the relative positions of the
parts, worksheet, and clamps.

6. Press the [GO TO PROCESS MON.] button to send the program to the
PROCESS MONITOR display.

schedule operation
In the Schedule mode, the LOAD display cannot load programs to the EDIT
PROGRAM display. Also, the operating mode cannot be changed during automatic
operation.
To edit a program that you want to run later, we recommend utilizing the temporary
list.

1. On the LOAD display, select an program and press the [GO TO
REGISTRATION] button to add it to the temporary list.

3. When you finish editing, press the [GO TO SCHEDULE] button.

4. To add the edited program as one of the jobs in the schedule operation, move
that job from the temporary list to the schedule list.

1. If the program is edited, press the [APPLY] button to apply the edited information
to the G-code program.

2. Press the [SAVE] button.

3. Change the program name and machine name as required.

4. Select the save destination folder and then press the [OK] button.

1-6. Discarding program during editing


Press the [DISCARD] button on the EDIT
PROGRAM display to discard the program you are
editing.

NOTE

 This does not affect the program in the media.


 If you selected to overwrite the current program
when loading the program into EDIT PROGRAM
display, you cannot recover the overwritten
program even if you have discarded the edited
program.

2-1. Edit drawing functions
In the Draw mode, users with no knowledge of G-code programming can perform
simple edit operations.
The edit drawing functions can be selected from the list at the left side of the display.
The edited information needs to be applied to the program before using a different
function.
Press the [APPLY] button at the right bottom to apply the edit.
Press the [CANCEL] button if you do not want to apply the edit.

The table below shows the edit drawing functions available on the laser cutting
machine.
NOTE

 Some functions cannot be used depending on the content of the program.


 When using the REMNANT CUT function, we recommend doing so at the end of
the edit operation. When remnant cut is applied, you cannot use the MATERIAL,
BASE POINT, MULTIPLE-PART, and PARTS LAYOUT functions.

Use this function to edit the worksheet information to be used in the processing and
laser processing conditions.

Thickness Sets the thickness of the worksheet to be processed.
Laser Selects the laser processing conditions.
Conditions The characters turn red if the laser processing conditions
selected are not yet registered. Change the laser cutting
conditions to the conditions that are registered.
Size Sets the size of the worksheet to be processed.
You can enter the values directly, or you can use the combo
box to select the size of standard size worksheet.

Use this function to edit the part reference point and origin settings at the start of
processing.

become the machine origin. You can set the X and
Y of the reference point.
PART BASE POINT button This sets the origin at the start of the processing to
become one of the four corners of the part laid out.

UPPER LEFT, UPPER Select the origin from one of the four corners of the

Use this function to create and edit multiple parts processing programs.

Item Description
Spacing Sets the web widths in the X- and Y-directions when the part is
laid out.
Number Displays the total quantity when you set the quantity in the X-
and Y-directions.
These are P and K values in the G98 command.
PIECE COUNT When the [PIECE COUNT] button is pressed, the multiple-part
button processing is set so that the layout fits within the worksheet.
Processing Sets the part cutting direction, sequence, and start position.
Sequence
Any Number Sets the resume position (P value in G75 and G76 commands)
and end position (R value in G75 and G76 commands) of the
multiple-part processing.

This function changes the cutting conditions. There are the IND. mode that
individually changes elements selected in the figure and the BATCH mode that
replaces all conditions at the same time.

This function allows you to move parts on the sheet anywhere and create a program
that has a different part added to open space.
The selected part is drawn in thick red lines, and the lines become thin when the part
is being moved. The part that is not selected is drawn in white.
To move a part, select and drag it to the destination. To rotate a part, touch and turn it
with two fingers. The part can also be moved or rotated with buttons.

1. Lay out multiple parts by loading additional

2. Set the [SPECIFY PROCESS ORDER] button to

3. The numbers displayed above the part names


indicate the process order. Touch the first part
that you want processed.

4. The number of the part you touched changes to “1” and the numbers of other
parts shift forward in order. Touch the subsequent parts in order and change the
process order.

5. When you touch the last part, the [SPECIFY PROCESS ORDER] button is
automatically set to OFF. If you set the [SPECIFY PROCESS ORDER] button to
OFF in the middle of the procedure, the changes as far as you made are saved.

2-2. Creating programs that start from origin
This section explains how to create a program that start from the origin, using the
BASE POINT function.
Procedure
1. Load the program into the EDIT PROGRAM display.

2. Set the worksheet information, and press the [APPLY] button.

3. Select BASE POINT function.

(1) Set the [HOME-POSITION] button to ON.

(2) When the red cross symbol moves to the machine origin, press the [APPLY]
button.

4. The program is now created. Start the processing with the axes zero-returned.

guide light
This section explains how to create a program that start with the guide light, using the
BASE POINT function.

Procedure
1. Load the program into the EDIT PROGRAM display.

2. Set the worksheet information, and press the [APPLY] button.

3. Select BASE POINT function.

(1) Set the [PART BASE POINT] button to ON.

(2) Press a button to select which of the four corners of the part should be the
reference point.

(3) When the red cross symbol moves, press the [APPLY] button.

5. Position the head to where the red cross is located. For the positioning, you can:

 Use the [Positioning (Rapid Traverse): G00] utility.


 Move the head with the handwheel control box and position it using the guide
light as reference.
6. Once you have confirmed that the part fits within the worksheet, start the
processing.

2-4. Creating programs with parts nested as pairs
This section explains how to create a program with high utilization, using the PARTS
LAYOUT and MULTIPLE-PART functions. Here, U-shaped parts are combined to
create a multiple-part processing program, and then remnant cut is inserted in the
last step.

Procedure
1. Load the program into the EDIT PROGRAM display.

2. Set the worksheet information, and press the [APPLY] button.

3. Select [PARTS LAYOUT].

5. Move or rotate the copied program to combine it with the original program.

6. Press the [APPLY] button.

7. Select [MULTIPLE-PART]. What you combined using the PARTS LAYOUT


function is treated as a single part.

3. G-code mode
3-1. Editing in G-code mode
The G-Code mode allows you to edit the G-code program directly.
You can edit a program in the editor at the left side of the display, and save it.

If you place a check mark on [Refresh During Edit]


from the [Drawing settings] button, the drawing is
refreshed whenever you edit the G-code program.
NOTE

 The key input response may deteriorate as the graphic data is constantly
generated. The response can be improved by removing the check mark.

The [FIRST LINE] and [LAST LINE] buttons move the


cursor to the first and last lines in the G-code
program that you are editing.

Press the [CURSOR LINE] button to show the line


where the cursor is currently located in the G-code
program.
To go back one step in the G-code program edit
operation, press the [UNDO] button, and to cancel
the undo operation, press the [REDO] button.

This section explains the function to search and
replace a certain character string in the G-code
program that you are editing.
Press the [SEARCH AND REPLACE] button to open
a window for performing search, replace, or multiple
replace of a character string. Select a function by
touching the respective tab.

Select one of the three buttons to select a direction to search for a character string in
each function.

The [Multiple String Replace] tab is used to run multiple replace operations at the
same time.

Set the character strings before and after conversion in the list to create a
combination of strings to be used in the replace operation.

Use the check box at the left side of each combination item to set whether or not to
include it in the replace operation.
If a check mark is removed, that combination is excluded from the multiple replace.

3-3. Copy, cut, and paste
This section explains the copy, cut, and paste functions that can be used for each line
in edit operation of the G-code program.

To copy or cut the selected line in a program, press


the [COPY] button.

When you press the [COPY] button, the Specifying the Copy / Cut line window opens.
To change the range of what you want to copy or cut, change the line number in the
start line or end line.
If the range of what you want to copy or cut is correct, press the [COPY] button or the
[CUTTING] button. If you do not want to proceed, press the [CLOSE] button.

To paste the copied/cut information to the current


cursor position, press the [PASTE] button.

The Message Center window opens when you press the [PASTE] button. Press the
[OK] button if you want to paste the information, or press the [CANCEL] button if you
do not want to proceed.

To search for a program line that matches the
element shown in [Draw area], set the
[DRAWING->NC DATA] button to ON.
To use another function, press this button again to
set itself to OFF.

If you select a figure shown in [Draw area] while the [DRAWING->NC DATA] button is
set to ON, the program line for that processing is highlighted.

To check the processing order of the G-code
program that you are editing, press the [STEP
DRAW] button.

When you press the [STEP DRAW] button, the processing information from the
beginning of the program to the current cursor position is drawn on the display.
Then, each time you press the [STEP DRAW] button, the drawing proceeds one line
in the program at a time.

To use another edit function, press the [STEP DRAW


END] button to exit the step drawing.

1. Description
This part explains the layout of common tools window.
You can bring the common tools window to the front, Process Monitor
even while working in another window. This is not
possible just during operation, but also when EDIT
PROGRAM display, UTILITIES display or Common Tools
MAINTENANCE display are shown.

Normally, [Common Tools Window Open Buttons


area] is shown at the top-right of the display. Press
one of these buttons to expand the common tools
window.
The common tools window cannot be dragged to
another area. Use the button at the bottom-right to
view the window hidden behind the common tools
window. The shape of common tools window
changes as shown in the icons.

To close the common tools window, press the [X] at


the bottom-right or press the button that is currently
selected.

2. MONITOR tab
When you touch the [MONITOR] tab on [Common Tools Window Open Buttons area],
the display changes to the MONITOR window.

2-1. CURRENT VALUE


The CURRENT VALUE monitors the current axes coordinates. The buttons change
the display method. The number of axes displayed varies, depending on the
processing machine.

TOTAL button
Press the [TOTAL] button to show the absolute position, machine position, relative
position and remain position.

ABSOLUTE button, MACHINE button, and REMAIN button


Press the [ABSOLUTE] button to show the absolute position.
Press the [MACHINE] button to show the machine position.
The [REMAIN] button is hidden in modes other than Auto or MDI. Press this button to
show the remaining distance.

RELATIVE button
Press the [RELATIVE] button to show the relative positions.

PRESET button
Preset changes the value of relative position.
1. Set the [PRESET] button to ON.

2. Select an axis to set the button to ON. Axes should be changed one by one.

3. The coordinate value becomes editable. After entering the value, press the
[ENTER] key on the keyboard to confirm.

4. Set the [PRESET] button to OFF.

ORIGIN button
Origin initializes the value of relative positions (sets the value to "0.000").
1. To initialize just the selected axis, press the button next to the axis name to ON.

2. Press the [ORIGIN] button.

3. When the Message Center window appears, determine whether to initialize all
axes or just the selected axis, and then press either the [YES] button, [ALL
AXIS] button or [NO] button. If the button next to the axis name is not pressed to
ON in the step 1, the [YES] button is not shown.

2-2. I/O
The I/O monitors the values of various addresses. Press one of the buttons from [1]
through [5] to change the grid.

Column name Description


Category Select where to get the I/O from.
MACHINE: Processing machine
PERIPHERAL: Peripheral equipment
EMPTY: Item in the same line is initialized.
Address Enter the address of the I/O that you want to get.
Example: R7200 or R7200.1
Data Length Select the size of the address.
BIT, BYTE, WORD, or DWORD
Type Select the display format of the address.
BIN, DEC, DEC_SIGN, or HEX
Data Acquired value is displayed. The value cannot be edited.

SNAPSHOT button
The Snapshot is a function to output what is displayed on the grid as a CSV file.
1. Press the [SNAPSHOT] button.

2. A SAVE window opens.

3. Specify the save destination folder and then enter the file name.

4. Press the [SAVE] button to save the information.

2-3. PROCESS QTY.
This function sets the process quantity in the Program mode and counts the
completed quantity.

 The Process Quantity is an optional function.

Operating with buttons


There are different type buttons on the [PANEL] tab, and each of these behaves
differently.
The black buttons changes how the
machine operates.
The recommended buttons are underlined.
An orange outline appears in other cases.

This button has a menu. The menu stays


opened until you select another area in the
display.

The white buttons activate the actuators.


For buttons with covers, the first touch
opens the cover and the second touch
presses the button. The cover closes
automatically, several seconds after the first
touch.

3-1. OPERATION button
Program Check
The machine dry runs when you press the [ON]
button at [Program Check] and start the program.
During the dry run, the machine coordinate values on
the display change, but the axes do not move, and
the M-codes are not executed. After the dry run, the
machine must be zero-returned.

Single Block
When you press the [ON] button at [Single Block] and
the machine executes one block of the program and
then stops each time you press the [START] button
the NC control panel.

Block Skip
When you press the [ON] button at [Block Skip], the
machine ignores each block with a slash (/) at the
beginning and reads the next block.

Optional Stop
If you press the [ON] button at [Optional Stop], the
machine pauses when M01 (optional stop command)
is read. The process is resumed by pressing the
[START] button on the NC control panel.

Schedule Resume
When you press the [ON] button at [Resume
Schedule] and the machine is stopped during
schedule operation, the operation can be resumed
from where the machine stopped.
NOTE

 The Schedule Resume is an optional function.

Multiple Settings
This is used when performing multiple-part
processing.
FIRST: First Part processes just one part at the
bottom-left.
REM: Remaining Parts processes remaining parts
except the part processed in First Part.
ALL: All Parts processes all parts.
FIRST REM ALL

NOTE

 Multiple-part processing programs should be run while one of these buttons (the
[FIRST] button, [REM] button or [ALL] button) is illuminated. Normal execution of
the program is not possible if all buttons are extinguished.

Rapid Traverse Rate Settings


This sets the rapid traverse rate.
F1: 100%, F2: 75%, F3: 50%, F4: 25%

3-2. LASER button


Tracing Sensor
Press the [ON] button at [Tracing Sensor] to enable
the Z-axis tracing sensor function.
NOTE

 A warning is generated when the [OFF] button is


pressed. There will be an increased risk of the
laser head colliding with the worksheet. Be sure to
check the laser processing conditions when
performing the process.

No Material Alarm
Press the [ON] button at [No Material Alarm] to
enable the function of detecting the existence of
worksheet in piercing process.

Trace Deflection Alarm
Press the [ON] button at [Trace Deflection Alarm] to
enable the function of using the tracing sensor to
detect the abnormal rise of the Z-axis.

Laser Pause
Press the [ON] button at [Laser Pause] to pause the
machine with the Z-axis zero-returned, when the
cutting of single path is finished (M104). The process
is resumed by pressing the [START] button on the
NC control panel.

Side Blow
Press the [ON] button at [Side Blow] to enable the
Side Blow function.
This function blows air from the side during or after
the piercing process, and blows off spatters. It is
more effective when the Oil Shot function is used at
the same time.
NOTE

 The Side Blow is an optional function.

Dead Zone
Press the [ON] button at [Dead Zone] to enable the
Dead Zone Detection function that restricts the laser
head from entering an area where it may strike a
work clamp.

Start Nozzle Cleaning


Press the [ON] button at [Start Nozzle Cleaning] to
clean the nozzle at the start of the process.

Release Nozzle
Press the [ON] button at Release Nozzle to release
the nozzle for nozzle change.

Clamp Deceleration
Press the [ON] button at [Clamp Deceleration] to
enable the Work Clamp Deceleration function.

Work Light
Press the [ON] button at [Work Light] to illuminate the
work light inside the processing machine.

Auto Power Off


Press the [ON] button at [Auto Power Off] to power
off the machine automatically when the machine
stops at the end of its program operation or
occurrence of an alarm.

Cooling Cut Water Supply


Press the [ON] button at [Cooling Cut Water Supply]
to pour cooling water in the tank.

Cooling Drainage
Press the [MANUAL] button on the NC control panel
and keep pressing the [ON] button at [Cooling
Drainage] when returning cooling water in the pipe
back to the tank.

Conveyor1 Settings and Conveyor2 Settings


Use [Conveyor1 Settings] for the X-direction
conveyor and [Conveyor2 Settings] for the
Y-direction conveyor.
AUTO: Conveyor moves in the positive rotation
direction when an automatic operation is run.
FWD: Press and hold the [MANUAL] button on the
NC control panel and keep selecting the [FWD] to
move the conveyor in the forward direction.
REV: Press and hold the [MANUAL] button on the
NC control panel and keep selecting the [REV] to
move the conveyor in the reverse direction.

3-5. PERIPHERAL MACHINE button
DNC
Press the [ON] button at [DNC] to operate the
machine in the DNC mode when CNC mode is
selected.

MP Remote Connection
This is for the MP remote schedule operation. Press
the [ON] button at [MP Remote Connection] to start
the communication with the MP unit.
Press the [OFF] button to force exit MP remote
schedule operation.

Line Control
These buttons change the operation between line
operation and single-program operation.
Press the [ON] button at [Line Control] to perform a
line operation using the line unit.
Press the [OFF] button to perform a single-program
operation.

MP Control
Press the [ON] button at [MP Control] to perform an
MP remote schedule operation.

Cycle Stop
These buttons are for pausing the Take OneSheet
process in the line operation.
Press the [ON] button at [Cycle Stop] to initiate the
cycle stop and pause the operation. When the [ON]
button is pressed, worksheet is processed if the Take
OneSheet process is already finished, and the
operation pauses after the processes are completed
up to the palleting of products.
Press the [OFF] button to resume the operation. If
you press the [START] button on the NC control
panel, only one sheet is processed.

Work On
These buttons are for performing manual feed
operation in the line operation.
Press the [ON] button at [Work On] to start the
operation with the worksheet set on the processing
machine. The cycle loader N does not perform the
Take OneSheet process and only does the
unloading.

 The Work On is an optional function.

These are buttons for selecting the line mode. For
more information, refer to the manual of the line unit.

4. LASER tab
With the [LASER] tab, you can load and edit processing condition files and add
device status.

4-1. LIST view


When the [LIST] button on the [LASER] tab is pressed, the [LIST] view is shown. On
the [LIST] view, the processing condition files saved in the processing machine, and
these conditions can be loaded.

Names of processing condition file currently loaded are shown in this view. If you
select the name of processing condition file and press the [LOAD] button, the
processing condition file is loaded into the machine and the window is refreshed.

[2] Remaining Materials area


You can add up to 1000 processing condition files to the processing machine. This
field shows the remaining number of condition files that can be added.

[3] Search Conditions area


The processing condition files in the [LIST] view can be narrowed down. You can use
and combine three types of filter keys: [Material Type], [Thickness], and [Gas Type].
To clear the filter, press the [CLEAR] button.

When the [COND.] button on the [LASER] tab is pressed, the [COND.] view is shown.
The [COND.] view allows you to check the processing condition files being used and
edit them.

[SIMPLE mode], only the frequently-used settings are shown.

 Processing condition file is a file that contains laser processing conditions that
have the same material, gas, and lens.
A single processing condition file contains multiple cutting conditions, pierce
conditions, and edge conditions.

1. LIST view
1-1. Loading
To perform a laser process, the processing condition files data needs to be
transferred to the processing machine. The processing condition files can be loaded
on the [LIST] view.

1. Place a check mark on the processing condition file that you want to load. The
number of check marks selected is indicated at the header section of the [LIST]
view.

2. Press the [LOAD] button. You cannot load processing condition files during
automatic operation.

3. If the loading succeeds, the processing condition file appears.

Be sure to use the laser processing conditions that are appropriate for the worksheet
to be processed.
You can set the search condition to find the suitable processing condition files. When
the search condition is set, the [LIST] view is filtered. To clear the filtered display,
press the [CLEAR] button.

1-3. Copying
The Copy function creates a copy of the processing condition files.

1. Select and place a check mark on the processing condition file that you want to
copy.

2. Select [EDIT LIST] menu -> [Copy].

3. The Copy Laser Conditions window opens. In


the copy destination, enter a name that is not yet
added as the processing condition file.

4. To run the Copy command, press the [OK] button.

1-4. Renaming
The Rename function renames the processing condition file. Unlike the Copy
function, the number of processing condition files added does not increase.

1. Place check marks on names of the processing condition file that you want to
rename.

2. Select [EDIT LIST] menu -> [Rename].

3. The Rename Laser Conditions window opens. For the new name, enter a name
that is not yet added as the laser conditions.

4. To run the Rename command, press the [OK] button.

1-5. Deleting
The Delete function deletes the processing condition files. You can delete multiple
processing condition files at the same time.

1. Place check marks on names of the


processing condition file that you want
to delete.

2. Select [EDIT LIST] menu -> [Delete].

3. The Delete Laser Conditions window

If you want to cancel the deletion of


certain processing condition files, clear

The Import All function adds all processing condition files. This function is used when
restoring the processing condition files or sharing the processing condition files
between multiple machines. Prepare a processing condition files in the JKAX or JKA
format.

Select [File Name] that you
want to import. You can select
the [File Type] from JKAX or
JKA.

2-1. Applying and saving changes


If you enter a value or change a selection on the [COND.] view, be sure to make the
change permanent. The value is confirmed when you are not in editing or press the
[ENTER] key on keyboard.

 If a value is changed during automatic operation, the new value is applied when
the next path is cut.

Press the [REPLACE ALL] button to apply all edited values to the lines below the
cursor position. However, the values are not applied to E010 etching. This function is
useful when you want to set the same values at the same time.
The [SAVE] button is enabled when the settings are changed. Press the [SAVE]
button to save the changes to the processing conditions files. The changes are
discarded if you load another processing conditions files without saving the current
one or run the M102 command.

Press the [REDO] button to undo
the value change. When a Cancel
Operation window opens, check
the information and then press the
[OK] button.
You can undo only one operation.
The batch command is considered
as one operation.

2-3. Common Parameters area


These settings are the basic parts of the laser processing conditions files. The
settings are used in laser setup.

This parameter is used when searching for a certain material type

Thick plates can be pierced at high speed and with high stability, by increasing the
pulse frequency and duty in stages. This is called step piercing.
To perform step piercing, set the [Incr. Freq.], [Incr. Duty], [Step Time], and [No. of
Steps].

What is approach (processing)


After the piercing process, the cutting conditions are changed to approach conditions
for a certain distance. Setting the processing speed to a slower speed reduces the
processing defects in the approach cutting.

What is edge (processing)


The edge section is pierced and then cooled. The following cut out (recover) process
is performed with the edge conditions. This reduces the burn-through of the edge
section and other processing defects.

1. UTILITIES display
Touch the [UTILITIES] tab to open the UTILITIES
display. The utilities are categorized. Change the

The category name of the utilities. Select the category that you want to view.

Press one of these utility buttons to start the respective utilities function. The utilities
function can be used in Auto mode.

[3] EDIT CATEGORY button


Set the [EDIT CATEGORY] button to ON for editing the category name. The category
name is saved separately for each user logging in.

Set the [CHANGE LAYOUT] button to ON to change the order of the utilities or
move/copy the utility buttons to another category.

[5] Service category
The [Service] is the category of utilities for AMADA. This category is not available to
users. When selected, the Password window opens. This category does not appear
on the display when the user authentication is enabled.

NOTE

 A category with a message "New utility has been added. Please move it to another
category." may appear in the category name. This occurs when there is a new
utility function available with the adding of a new option. To use the new utility
function, its utility buttons must be moved from the current category to another
category.

Set the [EDIT CATEGORY] button to ON for editing
the category name. You can enter characters in
multiple lines. When you finish entering, set the
[EDIT CATEGORY] button to OFF.
The category name is saved separately for each user

The [USE DEFAULT LAYOUT] button appears when you set the [CHANGE LAYOUT]

The utility buttons can be moved or copied to another category.
Procedure

ABSOLUTE/ This switches the coordinate display between absolute
MACHINE button position and machine position. If the display is
[ABSOLUTE], then the absolute position is shown.
Peripheral Machine This appears when the peripheral equipment is
Return to Regular connected. Press the [ON] button to return the peripheral
Pos. equipment to its regular position at the same time.

Procedure
1. When you press the [START] button on the NC control panel, each axis returns
to the machine origin. The window closes when the zero-return motion is
completed.

NOTE

 The [Peripheral Machine Return to Regular Pos.] appears when the machine is
connected to the peripheral equipment. Press the [ON] button to return the
peripheral equipment to its regular position at the same time.

This function allows you to set any position as the second machine position and
make the axis return to that coordinate.

CAPTURE button This button sets the current machine coordinate as the

2nd Machine Position This sets the second machine position for each axis. The
axes displayed vary between different models.

3. Set the [ADJUST] to ON and then press the [START] button on the NC control
panel to discharge the beam for the specified duration.

4. Remove the cellophane tape from the nozzle and check if the beam goes
through the center of the hole. Repeat the adjustment procedure until the beam
is centered.

NOTE

 When using the Adjust Nozzle Centering function, be sure to use a small-diameter
nozzle (diameter of 2 mm or less).

This function makes the adjustment for the Cooling Cut function.
NOTE

 The Cooling Cut is an optional function.

3. Set the [Cut Conditions], [Start Focus Position], [End Focus Position], and
[Focus Change Amount]. Or press the [DEFAULT] button.

4. Turn the [SHUTTER] keyswitch on the NC control panel to ON.

5. Press the [START] button on the NC control panel. The head cuts 60-mm long
slits at a pitch of 8 mm, from the position set in the [Start Focus Position] to the
position set in the [End Focus Position], at the interval set in the [Focus Change
Amount].

6. Find the smallest slit width. The focus position where the narrowest slit can be
cut is the optimum focus position.

7. In the [Reference Focus Position], enter the focus height at which the narrowest
slit is cut.

If the head moves as instructed by the program, the product size deviates by the
radius of the beam. The product can be processed to the correct size by adjusting
the beam left and right of the cutting direction. The Adjust Tool Offset is a function to
adjust the offset amount of the laser processing condition.

1. MAINTENANCE display
The MAINTENANCE display appears with its menu
in the left side of the display when you touch the
[MAINTENANCE] tab. When the [MAINTENANCE]
tab is not displayed, press button and then
select [MAINTENANCE].
NOTE

 The menu of the MAINTENANCE display is


divided into the [CUSTOMER] menu and the
[MAKER] menu. The [MAKER] menu is not
available.

1-1. LASER SETTINGS view


The display changes to the [LASER SETTINGS] view when [LASER SETTINGS] is
selected from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the [LASER SETTINGS] view, you can make detailed settings for laser output.
To apply a new setting for an item, select a setting or enter a value at the item that
you want the setting changed.
To return the changes back to the default settings,
press the [DEFAULT] button.

Item Description
Trace Start Height Sets the height at which the Z-axis tracking sensor starts
tracing the worksheet during piercing (M103). Set this height
as measured from the worksheet surface. The actual tracing
start height is the sum of worksheet thickness, preset trace
start height, and Z command value in G93. (Setting range: 0
to 99999.99 mm)
Z Retract Height Sets the height to which the Z-axis retracts (rises) after
cutting a hole or part for each end value (unloading
method).
No End Value: Sets the Z-axis retract height without the
end value (M104).
M00: Sets the Z-axis retract height at the machine
stop command (M104M00).
M01: Sets the Z-axis retract height at the machine
stop command (M104M01).
Work Chute: Sets the Z-axis retract height at the work
chute command (M104M180) when the
machine is equipped with the work chute.
Set the retract height as measured from the worksheet

2nd Machine Sets the X, Y, and Z coordinates of [2nd Machine Position]

when you want to load worksheets and unload parts, for

The display changes to the [REGISTER USER] view when [REGISTER USER] is
selected from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the [REGISTER USER] view, you can make the settings for the user
authentication, and register, edit, and delete the user account.

1-2-1. User account list


Select [REGISTER USER] from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display to show the
user account list.

NOTE

 Some settings in the [REGISTER USER] view require certain level of operation
privilege to make changes.
 You can set the user levels [1] through [4] to these user accounts. Higher number
has higher operation privilege.

Enable User Authentication


Place a check mark on [Enable User Authentication]
to restrict the operations of logged-in users based on
the user level.
When no user is logged in, then the operation
privilege is set as level 1.

Automatic Log Off
Place a check mark on [Automatic Log Off] to log off automatically when there is no
operation on the AMNC 3i for the time (minutes) set at the right side.
When the time is set to “0”, the automatic log off is disabled.

Automatic Logon as Last User


When a check mark is placed on [Automatic Logon
as Last User], the last user's account is used to
automatically log in the next time the AMNC 3i is
started.

Press the [NEW REGISTRATION] button to open the
New window for creating a new user account.

The display changes to the [MATERIAL MASTER] view when [MATERIAL MASTER]
is selected from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the [MATERIAL MASTER] view, you can control the worksheet (or material) data
and the material type data.
When you select a material name on the SCHEDULE display, JOB Settings window,
or others, you will be selecting a name registered on this display.

The [Material Type] tab is used for managing the data regarding material
composition.

Search Conditions area


To search for a material type, enter a keyword at [Material Type Name] or [Standard
Name], and then press the [SEARCH] button. The material type that matches the

To create new material type data, press the [ADD
NEW] button. Enter the information of the new

SETTINGS] is selected from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the [NETWORK SETTINGS] view, you can make the connection to vFactory and
change the barcode reader to be used.

In the [vFactory] tab, you can view the information and connection status of vFactory.
Place a check mark on [Connection] to make the connection to vFactory.

If the connection fails, check the connection status in the network.

The [BarCode] tab shows a list of barcode readers.
To use a barcode reader, place a check mark on [Use BarCode].

To change the barcode reader to be used, select one from the list at [Use Device].
When a new barcode reader is connected, press the [LIST UPDATE] button before
viewing the list at [Use Device].

1-5. MAIL view
The display changes to the [MAIL] view when [MAIL] is selected from the menu of the
MAINTENANCE display.
In the [MAIL] view, you can make the settings for the mail function and send emails.

1-5-1. Setting procedure


To use the mail function, it needs to be set up first. Press the [SETTING] button in the
lower part of the display to open the MAIL SETTING window. Set each item in the
[COMMUNICATION] tab, [ACCOUNT] tab, and [OPTION] tab.
NOTE

 Set the mail settings using the provider's email software setting instructions as
reference.

COMMUNICATION tab
In the [COMMUNICATION] tab, set the items on use of the mail function.
Set the settings based on your network environment.

ACCOUNT tab
In the [ACCOUNT] tab, specify the name and email address of the sender and
recipient. Enter the information accordingly.

OPTION tab
In the [OPTION] tab, select the character code to be used in the email you send.
Select the character code that can be displayed by the recipient's software.

When you finish the settings, the connection should be tested. Press the [CHECK
CONNECT] button. If the connection fails, review the settings and check the
connection status in the network.
To save the settings, press the [SETUP COMPLETE] button.

1-5-2. Sending emails
Emails can be created and sent any time after completing the settings on the MAIL
SETTING window.
Enter the recipient's email address and email message, and then press the [SEND]
button.

1-6. INSPECTION view


The display changes to the [INSPECTION] view when [INSPECTION] is selected
from the menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the [INSPECTION] view, you can manage the machine inspection schedule.

In the [Schedule] tab, you can check the inspection items currently set and
scheduled inspection dates.

Inspection Range
To change the range of display, change the start or end date at [Inspection Range].

To select an inspection item, place a check mark on
it. To clear all selections of inspection items, press
the [CLEAR SELECTIONS] button.

INIT button
To return the displayed range of inspection dates to
that of automatic settings, press the [INIT] button.

When inspection of an item is done, place a check
mark on the item and then press the [COMPLETE]
button.
The Complete Inspection window opens.

Check that inspection of all the items shown on the window is completed, press the
[Complete] button. The scheduled inspection dates are updated based on the current

Day].

[3] Last Date
Sets the base date of the inspection schedule.

When the [Span Watch] button is set to ON, you can set the inspection intervals
among [Day], [Week], [Month], and [Year]. Enter the interval number at [Interval].

[5] Time Watch button


When the [Time Watch] button is set to ON, you can set the inspection intervals in
hours. Enter the interval in hours at [Interval].

[6] Default button


Returns each setting to its default.

[7] Register button and Cancel button


To apply the changes made to the inspection item, press the [Register] button. Press
the [Cancel] button when you do not want to apply the changes.

Adding inspection items
Select an inspection item and then press the [ADD]
button to open the Add Inspection window for
creating an inspection item.

When the window opens, make the settings of the new inspection item and then
press the [Register] button to add it as a new inspection item. For details of each item
on the window, refer to “Editing inspection items” described earlier.

Deleting inspection items


The inspection item added on the Add Inspection
window can be deleted by pressing the [DELETE]
button in the lower part of the display.

1-6-4. Supply tab
In the [Supply] tab, you can check the approximate change timing based on the
hours the managed consumables were used. Change the consumables using the
values at [Warning Time] and [Process Time] shown on the display as reference.

Completing change of consumables


When change of an item is done, place a check mark
on the item and then press the [COMPLETE] button.
The value at [Process time] is reset to “0”.

Clearing selections
To select a consumable item, place a check mark on
it. To clear all selections of inspection items, press
the [CLEAR SELECTIONS] button.

1-6-5. Options tab


In the [Options] tab, you can enter settings for inspection items.

PowerOnTime By Week
At [PowerOnTime By Week], enter in hours the approximate operating time per week.
This value is used for calculation of the scheduled inspection dates when the [Time
Watch] button on the Edit Inspection window is set to ON.

The display changes to the [BACKUP] view when [BACKUP] is selected from the
menu of the MAINTENANCE display.
In the BACKUP view, you can make the settings for creating backups of AMNC 3i

1. OPTIONS display
The OPTIONS display appears with its menu in the
left side of the display when you touch the
[OPTIONS] tab. When the [OPTIONS] tab is not

When you are using user authentication, you can

1-3. Override window
When the button indicating the speed override value
on the Device indicator is pressed, the Override
window opens to show the status of each override
value.

[1] Rate
Shows current override values.
The values are green when the override value is
100%, red when the value is above 100%, and yellow
when the value is 100% or below.

[2] Override Setting area
Use the scroll bars and buttons to adjust the override
values.
You can also make fine adjustment of the override
value by pressing the [+1]/[-1] buttons and [+10]/[-10]
buttons.
Press the [CLEAR] button to return the override
value back to 100%.

Use the dial on the NC control panel to adjust the speed override value.

[3] Setting Value and Actual Output


[Setting Value] shows the target values based on the override values.
[Actual Output] shows the actual speed and output.

[4] CLOSE button


Closes the Override window.

1-4. Eco Setting window


When the button indicating the operating status of the
oscillator on the Device indicator is pressed, the Eco
Setting window for setting the operation status of
oscillator opens.

[1] Auto Action Setting area


This changes the operating mode of the oscillator. Press the respective button to
change the mode.

[2] Manual Action Setting area


Changes the operation status of the oscillator manually. Press the respective button
to change the status.

[3] CLOSE button


Closes the Eco Setting window.

2. Removing USB flash drives
We advise removing USB flash drives when the power is turned off. If removing the
drive when the power is turned on, follow the procedure below.

1. Press the eject button in the Notification area.

2. When multiple USB drives are


connected, the Drive Eject
window opens.

Press the [EJECT] button.

3. A window opens to indicate that the drive is being removed.

4. When the window closes, check that the access indicator on the USB flash drive
is not illuminated, and then remove the drive.
