(Candidates are allowed additional 15 minutes for only reading the paper. They must NOT start writing
during this time.)

The Question Paper consists of three sections A, B and C.


Candidates are required to attempt all questions from Section A and all questions EITHER from Section B
OR Section C.
Section A: Internal choice has been provided in two questions of two marks each, two questions four marks
each and two questions of six mark each.
Section B: Internal choice has been provided in one question of two marks and one question of four marks.
Section C: Internal choice has been provided in one question of two marks and one question of four marks.
All working, including rough work, should be done on the same sheet as, and adjacent to the rest of the
answer.
The intended marks for questions or parts of questions are given in brackets [ ].
Mathematical tables and graph papers are provided.

A bag has 4 red and 5 black balls; second bag has 3 red and 7 black balls. One ball is drawn from the first
bag and two from the second. Find the probability that two balls are black, and one is red.

OR

Three urns contain 6 red, 4black; 4 red, 6 black; and 5 red, 5 black balls respectively. One of the urns is
selected at random and a ball is drawn from it. If the ball drawn is red, find the probability that it is drawn
from the first urn.

2000 units respectively. The fractions of defective steel pipes output produced by the plants A, B and C are
respectively 0.005 0.008 and 0.010. If a pipe is selected from a day’s total production and found to be
defective, find out the probability that it came from the first plant.

Subject to 3 x−4 y +12≥ 0 ; 2 x− y +2 ≥0 ; 2 x+ 3 y−12≥ 0 ; 0 ≤ x ≤ 4 ; y ≥ 2.

OR

A manufacturing company makes two models A and B of a product. Each piece of Model A requires 9 labour
hours for fabricating and 1 labour hour for finishing. Each piece of Model B requires 12 labour hours for
fabricating and 3 labour hours for finishing. For fabricating and finishing maximum labour hours available
are 180 and 30 per week respectively. The company makes a profit of Rs. 8000 on each piece of Model A
and Rs. 12000 on each piece of Model B. How many pieces of Models A and Model B should be
manufactured per week to realize maximum profit? What is the maximum profit per week?
