SIH Internal Hackathon 2023 Report
The Smart India Internal Hackathon 2023, hosted by Bharati Vidyapeeth College of
Engineering in Navi Mumbai on September 26th, 2023, marked an inspiring and dynamic
initiative dedicated to nurturing innovation, problem-solving, and collaborative spirit among
the student community. Under the captivating theme "Fusion Flow: Ideas in Harmony," this
hackathon provided an exciting platform for budding tech enthusiasts to showcase their talents
and devise groundbreaking solutions for real-world challenges. The event's core mission was
to ignite creativity, foster teamwork, and harness the power of technology in addressing
pressing issues, making it a remarkable endeavour in the pursuit of technological innovation
and excellence.
The internal hackathon featured several problem statements across various domains,
making it a diverse and intellectually stimulating event. These problem statements were
meticulously curated to stimulate critical thinking and address contemporary issues that
encompassed a wide spectrum of fields. More than 35 problem statements were included in the
hackathon, covering domains such as healthcare, education, sustainability, cybersecurity, and
more. Each problem statement presented its unique set of challenges, encouraging participants
to think outside the box and explore innovative approaches to problem-solving.
The participants, comprising enthusiastic students from diverse academic backgrounds,
were tasked with the exciting challenge of selecting a problem statement aligned with their
interests and expertise. They were then required to form teams, fostering collaboration and
interdisciplinary interactions. This aspect of the hackathon not only emphasized the importance
of teamwork but also encouraged students to combine their varied skills and knowledge to
develop holistic solutions.
The presence of Lokesh Attarde, with his rich background in supply chain management and
innovation, greatly enriched the judging panel. His extensive knowledge and experience in
these domains provided a unique perspective for evaluating projects, particularly those
addressing real-world challenges in supply chain management.
Jayesh Bilaney, in his role as the Managing Director of Vstake Solutions, contributed industry-
specific insights that added depth to the judging process. His understanding of market dynamics
and technology trends offered a valuable perspective, ensuring that the assessment considered
both the technical and practical aspects of the projects.
Pratik Tirodkar's entrepreneurial background, characterized by a history of founding and
managing ventures, indicated a deep-seated passion for nurturing technological advancements.
This passion undoubtedly resonated in his judging approach, reinforcing the hackathon's
commitment to fostering innovation and supporting the development of cutting-edge solutions.
The hackathon showcased exceptional talent; the hackathon competition included
exception presentation on the basis of which 30 teams were shortlisted. 6 Hardware category
based and 24 Software Category based teams were shortlisted. While 4 teams were waitlisted.
