I. TITLE: Division Schools Press Conference (DSPC)

II. Venue: Sigaboy Agricultural Vocational High School

III. Date: September 15 - 19, 2019

IV. Rationale:
In pursuant to Republic Act (RA) No. 7079, also known as the Campus Journalism Act of
1991, and in compliance with the aim of the Department of Education to foster learners who
are competent on different fields, the Campus Journalists of Leandro G. Japos National High
School sought to be part of the Division Schools Press Conference at Sigaboy Agricultural
Vocational High School this September 15-19, 2019.
This year’s theme: Empowering Communities through Campus Journalism reflects the
value of the community as stewards for responsible journalism. With this, this contest seeks
to empower both the community and the Campus Journalists as partners for change.

V. Objectives:
The Conference aims to:
A. Demonstrate understanding of the importance of journalism by expressing it
through different journalistic endeavors and approaches,
B. Provide an avenue for an enriching learning experience for students interested
in Journalism as a career or those who tend to use skill sets learned through campus
Journalism to give them a better edge in their chosen careers,
C. Enhance journalistic competence through healthy and friendly competitions.
