CDJ-800MK2 UPDATE INSTRUCTIONS

Applicable Model : CDJ-800MK2

Confirm Current Firmware Version 1. Hold the RELOOP/EXIT button for about 10 seconds to display the firmware version on the display. Note) Firmware version 2.10 and later versions do not require this update.

Update Contents 1. Master Tempo Quality Improved Better preservation of sound quality while using the Master Tempo function. 2. Improved Readability of Dirty or Scratched Discs Increases the products ability to play back unclean or damaged discs. Note) This update will improve the system's capability to compensate for certain limited anomalies such as discs with minor scratches and unclean surfaces. Discs should always be kept clean and free from damages. Even with this update, the products may not be able to play all discs depending on the degree of damage. 3. Improved Loop Control This update improves jumpiness after releasing a certain loop control in some specific conditions. 4. Enhanced Disc Detection Ability This update enhances the detection ability for CD-ROM and CD-DA disc.

Download the Firmware 1. Download the firmware ZIP file from Pioneers website to a folder on your computer. 2. Unzip the file and save it to a folder on your computer. After unzipping, you will have 1 file that will need to be burned to CD-R/RW. 3. Check the firmware file Check the file name and size by right clicking on the file and choosing Properties. Name 800MK2.HEX Size 1.93 MB (2,027,720 bytes) Date 3/10/2008

* Download again if the file name and size do not match the ones listed above.

Create the Update Disc Copy/burn the file 800MK2.HEX to a blank CD-R or CD-RW disc. Note) - Use a good quality branded blank CD-R disc or completely erased CD- RW disc. - Burn the firmware file into the disc using disc-at-once mode (2x Speed) - Make sure that the disc session is closed / the disc is finalized. * If the correct file is not copied to the disc, your player will not recognize it as an update disc and you will not be able to carry out the update.

Update Your Player Perform the following procedure to update the firmware. WARNING!! DO NOT turn off or disconnect power, or remove the update disc until the update has finished. Doing so may result in your player becoming unresponsive and will then need repairs. 1. While the player is off, press and hold the AUTO BEAT LOOP 2 and TIME MODE/AUTO CUE buttons simultaneously until a message DOWNLOAD appears on the display. 2. Insert the update disc. The update automatically starts and will take about 1 minute. After completing the update, the disc is automatically ejected and message COMPLETE appears on the display. 3. 4. Turn off the power and remove the disc. Turn on the power and confirm the firmware version.
