This document describes how to set a Windows 10 PC so that Xbench files can be opened automatically in Xbench from the XTM online Editor.

Set Xbench to be the default application for xbpkg files

1. Right click any xbpkg file


2. Select “Open with.. “
3. Select “Choose another app”
4. Select “More apps”
5. And then “Look for another app on this pc”
6. Navigate to where Xbench is installed and select xbench.exe (mine is installed here - C:\Program Files\ApSIC\Xbench\xbench.exe)

That will set Xbench as the default application for xbpkg files.

Open Xbench Feature in XTM


The following steps are the same for all browsers.

Opening the XTM Online Editor


1. Login to XTM
2. Open the XTM Project Editor by clicking on any project in the Project List page:
3. In the Project Editor select Workflow from the left side:
4. Click the icon to the left of the language name and select Open Editor from the menu

5. That will open the Open editor for PM pop-up


6. Uncheck Read Only and click Open.

7. That will open the XTM Online Translation Editor


8. On the left side menu click Run QA on… (the first ABC icon)
9. From the resulting menu select Open Xbench
10. Each browser is a little different so the steps for Chrome, Firefox and Edge are included.

Chrome
1. On first use of the above Chrome will only download the file. Once downloaded you can then choose how Chrome should handle files of this type.

2. Download
3. Chrome will ask you where to save the file (or will save it automatically if you have that configured in the Download section of Chrome Advanced
Settings).
4. Once saved Chrome will show the downloaded file at the bottom of the page:
5. Click the up arrow for options:
6. Select Open to open the Xbench package in Xbench.
7. Select Always open files of this type to open the Xbench package in Xbench and to always open Xbench packages in Xbench without asking.

Firefox
1. Select Open in Xbench in XTM and Firefox will launch the following pop-up:
2. ApSIC Xbench should be pre-selected in the Open with dropdown.
3. Click OK and the files opens in Xbench.

Edge
1. Select Open in Xbench in XTM and Edge asks:
2. Select Open, and the file opens in Xbench.
