1.1INTRODUCTION the headings / Change the heading.

This chapter will delineate what NATIS online application is, what this application will do,
what this application incline to solve in the area of the Okavango east region, Rundu area. It
will later take you from side to side the main objectives of the application, the delimitations
and what is compulsory in order for this application to be fashioned and explanations why this
application is to be made in the first place.

1. 2 BACKGROUND STUDY

This Study is intended to find out the importance and the necessity of NATIS online
application in Namibia. This application will be used to replace the old traditional way of
booking for leaners ‘license, and applying for a driver’s license. This application will allow
users to book; make payment for their leaners license. It will further allow users to write their Comment [A2]: Book for ? specify

learners test online provided they have passed and uploaded the required documents. In
addition this app will also allow users to apply for their driver’s license. This application will
be a desktop which will later be converted to mobile or android application. I will use visual
basics to code and design this application using visual studio environment. I choose to
research about this study due to the fact that most of the youth in my home town find it
difficult to book to write a test for a learner’s license let alone get the driver license. This had
led to most of them buying drivers licenses. This application will be used as a new way of
booking to write a learners license, for people who live in Rundu. NATIS means (Namibian
Traffic Identification System) and app means (application), the mission of this application is Comment [A3]: Add ABBREVIATION

to carry out all the necessity need to get a learners license and eventually the driver’s license.
This application will solve the merger delays and difficulties of getting a learners license in
rundu. NNATIS online application is the first app that will be created in Rundu and it’s a
complex application, so a lot of issues are to be counter for example creating a database for
this application, and launching this application. This app will be new and advance many
people might not know how to use the app and some people might not have the right
technology to use this application. As much as the NATIS Application is replacing the
traditional way of the NATIS organization it’s going to take time for the people in rundu to
adapt. However this application is important as it will solve, save, and it’s the faster way for
people in rundu to get their leaners license and eventually the driver’s license. to add this
application will come with a user guide that will instruct the user on how to get to use the
application properly. In general this app will only be used for the following purpose, book to
write a learners license, write your test, make payments, and upload documents for your eye
test results and view your test results.

1.3 MOTIVATION
I have decide to do this particular project , to solve the challenges involved in getting a
learners license in my home to Rundu, and to make sure everyone has the chance to get the
learner’s license and eventually the driver’s license at a lower cost and fairly. Furthermore, I
see this project as a business opportunity I need to capitalize on in order for me to get income.
And I see this as an opportunity for me to leave my mark in the technology industry. Comment [A4]:

1.4. PROBLEM STATEMENT

The traditional method of NATIS booking to write a learners license and getting a driver’s
license are costly and time consuming.

1.5 OBJECTIVES
o To make bookings for a learners license easier and faster
o To avail the writing of learners license to everyone all around the nation
o Reduce cost o of people traveling to towns to go write tests for learner’s license
o To make profit

1. 6 JUSTIFICATION
This application is important for the following reasons it’s less costly, it will allow users to
book, write their learners license wherever and whenever they can. It will also allow users to

1. 7DELIMITATION
This system will only be used to book, write your learners license, make payments, check
your eligibility, apply for a driver’s license and show your results for the written test. This
system will not provide you with your learner’s license; it will not be used for scanning your
eyes.

1.8 PROJECT CONSTRAINTS

o Linking the types of bank system to the application.
o Creating a data base and launching the application
o Linking all the parts of the application together

1.9 METHODOLOGY
o Interviews’ and questionnaire will be used to collect data regarding the application
from people around Rundu( Okavango east)
o Waterfall method will be used to create this application, using the visual studio with
visual basic programming language.
