Interjections are words or phrases used to express strong emotions. They have no grammatical rules but often start sentences in an exclamatory way. Common interjections include oh, wow, ouch, and phew to show surprise, admiration, pain, and relief. Interjections are punctuated with commas when used within sentences or with exclamation points when standing alone. They are best used casually and avoided in formal writing.
