The static noise that occurs when adjusting between radio stations disappears once a specific station is reached, at which point the audio from that station will play. Distortion was found to enhance the song it was used in by making it sound more intense like a rock or metal song, though some may find distortion distracting. Increasing the volume of background music made a person's talking voice sound further away and like it was fading.

1.

For 10 seconds, record the static noise between two (2) radio stations while slowly adjusting to reach
one specific

station. Smartphone/desktop radio applications are allowed.

Question: What happens to the static noise once it reaches a specific radio station?

-The static noise is just playing in the radio while adjusting between 2 stations. It becomes louder and a
little quiet sometimes when adjusting the radio. The fluctuation is only during the adjusting phase and
when you reach the specific station it will play whatever that station is streaming.

2. Find a song that uses distortion. Clip the part with distortion. Start 3 seconds before the distortion
starts.

Question: Did distortion improve the song?

-Yes it enhanced the song’s sound and texture. It made the song more intense making it more like metal
or rock song. However, some might find distortion a little distracting and prefer sounds that doesn’t
have it.

3. For 30 seconds, record yourself talking while background music plays at 20%, 50%, and 90% volume,

respectively. Give 10 seconds for each volume level.

Question: What is your observation regarding the effect of the background music on your talking voice?

-Based on my observation the effect of the background music during when I’m talking is that it made my
voice sounds far that it should be. Increasing the volume of the music during made voice looks like I’m
talking from far away which sounded like my voice is fading.
