Adalah kesesuaian antara kata-kata / unsur kalimat dalam sebuah kalimat.

1. Parallel Structure with Coordinate Conjunction ( and , but , also )


Contoh :
♦ I love traveling and to smoke (Salah - tidak parallel)
♦ I love traveling and smoking ( Benar – parallel )
♦ I love to travel and to smoke. ( Benar – parallel )
♦ Terry likes swimming or to dive. (Salah - tidak parallel)
♦ Terry likes swimming or diving. (Benar - parallel)
♦ Terry likes to swim or to dive. (Benar - parallel)
2. Parallel Structure with Paired Conjunction.
( both …and ;either …or ;neither …nor ; not only … but also )
Contoh :
♦ Oloan wants either to enter AKABRI or to enter AKPOL ( Benar – parallel )
♦ Oloan wants to enter either AKABRI or AKPOL ( Benar – parallel )
♦ Oloan wants to either enter AKABRI or enter AKPOL ( Benar – parallel )
3. Parallel with Comparison
Comparison yang digunakan sebagai pembanding, apa yang di bandingkan harus parallel.
Contoh :
♦ My house is bigger then your house
♦ His book is as expensive as his pen
