STUDY PLAN FOR CSS EXAMS
Hello Aspirants, This has been my strategy to
prepare a study plan before studying any subject. I have uploaded study plans of my optional subjects and two compulsory subjects in their relevant threads. Let me briefly tell you what this plan contains and what is its basis. Study Plan is actually an in-depth analysis of Past papers of the subject. Based on these, the subject has been divided into areas which are recurring and most important from the examination point of view. Thus, if you keep this Study Plan before you, it may obviate the need for referring to subjective part of the past papers as it contains all questions from 2000 onwards. However, for objective part (MCQs), you will have to refer to past papers for solving them. I reiterate here that its my own analysis and it has so far proved very helpful in my preparation. The only purpose behind sharing it is helping out other aspirants in whatever capacity I can. What CSS is: Assalam-u-Alaikum Dear Aspirants. I would start this article with the name of Allah Rabb-ul- Izzat who is the Merciful and The Gracious. I am writing down this detailed document which will comprise the CSS preparation from the very first stage till the exam-days. Numerous friends and aspirants had asked for such kind of a document which could be helpful for every aspirant. I’ll try and go ahead step-by-step. If someone really wishes to aspire for CSS, he/she MUST have these 3 prerequisites for passing this Competitive Exam. 1. Commitment 2. Concentration 3. Consistency SUBJECT SELECTION: It has been quite rightly said that good subject selection is half a success especially when it comes to CSS. Subjects should neither be finalised very early nor quite late. Aspirants are generally found quite perplexed especially when it comes to finalising their optionals. They often fall prey to the ambiguous term such “ Scoring ” trend . After the change in the paper- pattern this year, the subject- selection becomes even more crucial. The CE-2014 has come quite grad at the aspirants and has stunned them completely where they were seen biting their nails and scratching their heads after failing to cope with simple yet technical questions. Therefore, it is highly recommended that aspirants must keep the following aspects in mind prior to finalising their optional subjects. They are written in order of significance. 1. Educational background 2. Personal Interest 3. Scoring Trend REMEMBER: It is you who is going to finalise the subjects. Don’t leave it to someone else. Nor you should follow someone’s advice blindly since there is difference between your aptitude and background and that of other person. DURATION: Numerous aspirants are found wondering as to how much time the CSS preparation generally takes. Different peole have different opinions ranging from 4 months to 8 months, and 6 to 12 hours a day. Well, CSS is merely a game of study of 6 months in total and 6 hours a day. Therefore, PLANNING is something that matters the most when it comes to CSS. Well, let us sort it out in the simplest of manners without complicating the matter. Total hours = 6 Sessions = 3 each session = 2 hours FIRST 30 DAYS: Session # 1 = Everyday Science Session # 2 = Pak. Affairs Session # 3 = Islamiyat Next 30 DAYS: Session # 1 = Everyday Science Session # 2 = Optional # 1 Session # 3 = Optional # 2 Next 30 DAYS: Session # 1 = Current Affairs Session # 2 = Optional # 3 Session # 3 = Optional # 4 Next 30 DAYS: Session # 1 = Current Affairs Session # 2 = Optional # 5 Session # 3 = Optional # 6 Next 30 DAYS: Session # 1 = Current Affairs Session # 2 = English Essay Session # 3 = English Precis and Composition Total Duration : 150 days ( 5 months ) Subjects covered : 12 NOTE: You can utilize the remaining 1 month by taking the tests at any good academy or even solving past- papers. P.S. I know that most of the aspirants will be wondering about Essay-writing. I have intentionally kept it back a bit because after having studied the other 10 subjects, they will have lots of knowledge and ideas to write in the essay. I hope it would be beneficial for everyone. THANKS #AdmIn: AamIr Khan Mahar

Journalism for CSS/PMS by Quratulain & Haseeb Gohar Dear, I've today the most important tips for CSS ASPIRANTS. 1. For preparation study 8-10 hours a day and do sleep 7 hours everyday in order to maintain yourself physically healthy. 2. Writing practice is very important and in C.S.S exams, there are no lines in the answer sheet and the pages are plain white, so you must do writing practice on white plain sheet in order to manage balance on your lines in your answer sheet. 3. quantity has no importance but qualities is the basic key to success in giving answer to the question in the exams because in C.S.S. and P.M.S exams questions are of analytical type and answer are needed in the form of arguments, comments and conclusions in your own words. 4. in every paper there are 20 marks of m.c.q’s. so prepare well mcq’s because 35 are passing marks in every paper and the marks you earn from mcq’s play vital role in it. 5. Everyday science paper is very easy.50 marks of m.c.q’s and 50 marks of short questions. Every day science paper includes( biology, physics, chemistry, environmental science, I.T and general science ) .physics, biology and chemistry is off f.s.c standard. 6. Islamiyat can be given both in urdu and English. But islamiyat paper is based on analytical study and general knowledge about Islam. So prepare all the topics which are related to islam and Islamic world in past, present and future and problems of islamic world. 7. For current affair paper there is no need of buy any books. All the topics can be covered through internet and news papers. 8. Only blue, Black pen, Pencil is allowed in examination hall and strict instruction are given in the 1st page of answer sheet about using of colour pens. 9. Mobiles are not allowed in examination hall and even if you bring it, your mobile is taken and kept locked in a cupboard. 10. Original I.D card and original roll number slip are checked form time to time during exams, so its better to bring them in every paper. 11. Both mcq’s sheet and answer sheet is given at the same time, so its better to do m.c.q’s quick in order to save time for the last question, which you will attempt in the end of paper. 12. In English essay paper always make rough outline on page 25 of your answer sheet and when you are done then make fair copy of it on 1st page of answer sheet. 13. Page number 24 and 25 in your answer sheet can be used for rough work; instruction about rough work is clearly given on 1st page of answer sheet. After doing rough work on 24 and 25 page, cross them with black pen. 14. Date sheet is very tough, no holidays between paper’s, continuous paper on everyday basis, two papers a day (9-12a.m and 2-5p.m), 6 hours of paper giving everyday. All 12 papers are taken in just 7-8 days. Do bring sweets with you in order to maintain your sugar level during paper; specially the second paper (2-5p.m) needs lots of sweets because sugar level is down in the evening time. And your brain and fingers won’t work properly due to shortage of sugar level in your body. 15. During preparation make outlines of important headings and points of every topic, because these outline will help you a lot in revision during short time period which you get between papers due to tough date sheet. 16. If you have plans for joining academy then don’t waste your time and money on sub-standard academies, just go for the best in the business. 17. General knowledge papers (everyday science, pak-affairs and current affairs) are based on collective marks system. You need 120 marks in total to pass these three papers collectively.(e.g you got 20 marks in everyday science, 50 marks in pak-affairs and 50 marks in current affairs, so in total its 120 marks, so you have passed collectively all the general knowledge section on exams, your everyday science paper is considered passed on the basis of collective marks system) #admIn AamIr kHan
